- It looks as if you did the terrain.png only. (You should do the gui, you have great potential!)
- The sidegrass is too short
- The dirt is too bright, and dry looking. It would be better if you made it a little darker.
BUT! There are a lot of pros to it too!
- The wool looks awesome!
- The torches, doors, and ladders have a really good renaissance feel to it.
- Beds look very realistic.
- Water looks very nice.
- Considering it's a 32x, it looks much better than my 64x texture pack that I was previously using.
This texture pack has alot of potential, you should continue with it. Good job!

Thanks for reviewing!
You're right, I've only done the terraing.png and the art. I haven't touched the gui or items yet. (But I'm getting there!)
The dirt is supposed to look dry-- Rome Italy tends to be a very dry area. That's also why the sidegrass is short. It'd look a little strange to have jungle-length sidegrass when it's supposed to be short and scrubby.
Normally I opposed having nearly useless posts, but I just had to make an exception for this. If there was a way to make a post with no words, because there is not a word in the English language that I am aware of that could properly express how epic this Texture Pack is.

5/28: Updated to v0.6. Added cake (now sweet bread) and TNT (now barrels of gunpowder). Various tweaks. 1.6.5 Compatible!

4/26: My not that much of a builder myself, so I'm looking for screenshots! Send in images of your epic assassin's creed creations and I'll post them here!
AND ANOTHER THING.
I think this pack has finally gained enough attention to warrant a banner. Unfortunately, I'm a complete noob when it comes to banners (aka, zero experience). to whoever makes a banner for this pack! I'll post them here alongside all your mind-blowing screenshots! (feel free to use your own screenshots in the banner....mine aren't that great. :sleep.gif:)
NOTE: I haven't finished all of the terrain textures yet (rails, jukebox, and other obscure constructed items), but every texture you can find just wandering around in Minecraft has been updated. Play around with it a bit and let me know what you think.
Advance notice: When the final release of the completed terrain png comes out, the title of this thread with change to ~Assassini~. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. READ THIS SO YOU DON'T END UP SAYING 'derp, can't find thread.'

ARTIST'S NOTE. PLEASE READ.
I have recently recieved a lot of comments along the lines of 'pack is broken doesn't wwwooorrrkkk.'
In response to this, I have several comments of my own to make--
1) This texture pack (like all texture packs) is only an aesthetic change. It does NOT effect the code in anyway. If you are having problems-- if the blocks don't render right or your game freezes-- YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG. Either you did not install the correct version of the HD patcher (which MUST match your version of minecraft), you did not check the boxes for custom water/lava, you didn't click 'patch', or your computer has decided to go FUBAR. None of these things are in any way related to this texture pack.
2) I am not a programmer. Although I would like to help you get this pack running correctly, most of the time I will not be able to do anything to fix the issues you're experiencing. If you have problems and reinstalling and re-patching doesn't fix anything, GO POST AN ERROR REPORT ON THE HD PATCHER THREAD. They will be able to do much more to solve your problem than I can.
3) That said, if anyone would like to know about the things I CAN help you with (such as basic editing of the texture pack to swap out the regular textures for alternates), I would be more than happy to post a short tutorial.
5/28: v0.6--Added hatches (forgot about them :sleep.gif:), cake, TNT. Changed the long grass, alt grass, desert shrub.
5/27: v0.5-- Updated for 1.6 compatibility. Added web, sponge. More on the way.
5/7: v0.4--Added ore blocks; added alternate brick, gray wool; added more paintings; various tweaks
4/27: v0.3-- Added jukebox, water/lava animations (curtesy of Grugsy); tweaked redstone/lapiz lazuli ore to make them less shitty; other tweaks
4/22: v0.2-- Added art, wheat, and farmland.
4/20: v0.1-- Redstone working again.
4/19: v0.0-- redstone broken. Link has now been taken down
Hi guys! I've been working for three weeks straight on this texture pack, and even though I'm not finished yet I really wanted to post what I have and get your feedback.
Now, just to clarify, this is a themetic texture pack based upon Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. As I played through the game I took screenshots on my phone, then used those screenshots to create the textures below (NOTE: I did not simply scale down photos-- each of these are painted by hand).
If there is any interest in a generic Italian Renaissance pack, I can go back and do alternate textures/paintings that don't have any references to Assassin's creed in them... but I would have to see a LOT of interest first (making a texture pack is a lot more work than I would have thought.)
.................................................
Screenshot time!
I'm finally tilting my hand and showing you the full terrain png. Yay! *Original gray wool and brick included as alternates. Change them out however you see fit.*
Artwork! (I will probably end up adding a bunch of alternates in the future so you guys can mix and match)
Welcome to Monteggerioni!
Featuring: Cypress trees (cacti)
Inside Ezio's hideout
The Assassin's barracks
Grow your own grapes!(NOTE: I used the Doshtopolis map for this screenshot)
Down into the tunnels beneath Roma....
Inside a cave.
Inside the Nether. Brown mushrooms!
More nether shots (explanation at the end):
Why do the nether blocks look futuristic and not at all like the others, you ask?
Well, it all ties back into the plot of assassin's creed-- the 'reality' of renaissance Italy is actually just a genetic memory that the main character Desmond is reliving, thanks to a fancy device called the Animus (which is run by the bad guys, by the way). Anyway, the netherack blocks are made of metal and carry the Abstergo (bad guy) logo to symbolize the place Desmond is held captive. Ditto for the glowstone (which is supposed to look like stylized flourescent lights). The soulsand is made to resemble the glitchy 'program' that Desmond uncovers hidden within the Animus, which I thought was perfect since the Nether is another realm anyway.
And now it's time for...more screenshots!! (I'm such a screenshot ***** XP)
You must have Xau's HD patcher installed to run this pack! Otherwise your gold blocks will be on fire, your pumpkins will look like they've been half-eaten by zombies, and flowing water will stand perfectly still. Search for it on google and you should find it pretty easily.
Awesome tex. The only thing I have to complain about is that this is based off of Assassin's creed 2 (which is why you named it Renaissance), but you said the reason that the abstergo logo was in the nether, was because Desmond was kidnapped at the time. During assassin's creed 2, he had already escaped and was working with the assassin's to uncover secrets in Ezio's memories.
I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works

...I hadn't thought about that. If it bothers you that much, just wait around for the alternate nether textures I'm going to put up as soon as I get off my ass and finish doing the rails.
Really like the pack, one thing I was thinking of, was make the nether look like the assassins creed loading screen or glyph ending. If the video is not working then type "assassins creed brotherhood the truth final cluster" into youtube. Another thing, you could make pictures of glyphs or a picture that makes it look like a guard is standing in a door/arch. Last thing, the diamond to me seems not as exciting others, its just a bit plain, maybe make the diamond bigger or have more of them.Apart from those I love the texture pack, I really like the water, doors, glass and the sugar cane.
Good luck with the texture pack in the future.
The pictures of glyphs thing is a good idea.
But I think you either didn't read the post carefully enough or didn't actually GO to the nether with this pack, because I already made it look like the truth level. Good suggestion though. :smile.gif:
Yeh sorry about that, I did go to the nether but all I saw was blue and red(I didn't download it properly), I assumed that the nether looked the same as the pictures on the original post. (Saw on the 1st June)
Finally downloaded it properly but I lagged, do you think that is my computer or something else, like the patcher?
Next time I will definately read the post and look at everything before posting.
Thanks
A couple more suggestions (sorry if you have already done them)
Crossbow instead of bow.
Make a block that no one uses look like a single plank, so when you walk across it, it looks like you are balancing on it.
Wooden sword could be a broom or lute (stupid but fits with assassins creed)
Yeah, I've been having problems with lagging too. It's the new version of minecraft and the changes Notch made to the FPS. Just go and change it to 40 or something-- you won't notice any visiual difference, but it will run much more smoothly.
The bow is definitely going to be a crossbow. Don't worry. But I'm going to make the wooden sword a practice sword.
This is really good. My favorite is the cobblestone. Some textures are more realistic and some are more cartoony, which is weird to me. It's the only problem I can see.
