I wanted to make my own texture pack, but I cant seem to make things like the stone, grass, etc. textures to look right. Can anyone give me some tips on giving the textures some sort of noise or just plain tips on making a texture pack? (I'm using paint.NET)
Some great advice is to look at tons of other texture packs; you'll get some awesome ideas for your own.
I dunno about paint.NET, but in Photoshop, there's an "add noise" function under filters. I'll bet paint.net has it, but I can't tell you where to find it.

"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say that there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe." -Frank Zappa
