What is this?
In minecraft, it is possible to edit the font used, though it requires usage of the 'HD texture fix'. This is a gallery for fonts that you can add to your texture pack to add a bit more style to it. You can download any of these, but must give credit to the creator. You may also submit your own fonts to here via replying with your submission(s) in the correct format. Enjoy the fonts!
How to install a font
#1: select a texture pack you want to put a font into
#2: open the .zip with winrar, 7zip, or any other similar program
#3: insert the folder 'font' with the image 'default.png' into the texture packs .zip
#4: close it
#5: open mcpatcher and in the 'texture pack' category click 'browse' and select your texture pack (make sure 'Hi-res font' is checked')
#6: click 'patch'
#7: done! run minecraft and enjoy your new font!
NOTE: if you switch texture packs through 'mods & texture packs' your new font will stay the same between all texture packs, you MUST patch for a texture pack with the new font to use the new font.
The Font Gallery YOU MUST GIVE CREDIT TO THE CREATOR IF A FONT IS USED IN A PUBLICLY RELEASED TEXTURE PACK!

Want to make your own font?
Making your own font requires any program that can edit images, a bit of inspiration, and the default font file!If you want to make your font in higher resolution than normal all you need to do is double the size of the image or quadruple depending on the resolution.

I'm not sure what to call this, it's a bold italic slightly 'runic' font good for an RPG feel, I've only been working on it for a couple of hours though. I've been modifying a default double resolution font I made so some still have the original feel. Also I'm not that familiar with file uploaders (I signed up 15 minutes ago, basically I saw this and thought I can do that), any advice in this area would be welcomed.
That font's pretty incredible! The "16x" really threw me off, because in theory it fits "32x" packs, since it's double the default size. :tongue.gif:
And yet, I want to change it. I'm looking for a font with thinner numbers, so that the "64" in the corner of my items doesn't cover the entire icon. :tongue.gif:
I've honestly spent hours trying to make an HD font.
My problem is that any editions I make end up rendering with a TON of space in between the letters! There must be a trick.
Can you tell me what program you used, and a brief list of settings to make your font look so perfect?

I cut-n-pasted the first 2 rows of Misa's font into mine and it fixed my spacing issues. I honestly don't know why that fixed it, but it did.
Maybe it uses the space in the top-left corner to decide how much room each letter needs, and if your smiley face is too far to the right then Minecraft gives everything too much space...

I just got 'view your posts' working and saw this, so I'll get your font up there!
I'm asking you, as a friend... Just...put an end to me.
that's a custom font, you just have to extract it from the texture pack and give it a name, but only the author can submit it really
