DECISIVE CRAFT
As this is a compilation pack, I am going to start off with a credits list as this is far more important than the compilation itself. The textures you see in this pack have been edited back and forth, however the creators are not myself!
I've borrowed from so many different packs that it may be difficult for me to acknowledge every author. If your name does not appear on this list and you are certain I have used a texture of yours, let me know Asap.
What does one look for in a semi-realistic compilation?
- Dirtier Dirt,
- Greener Grass,
- Cleaner Glass,
- Dark and Terrifying Nether,
- Water that actually looks CLEAN
- Ores that look shiny, and make you Jump for Joy when you find them.
- A careful balance between the realistic and the magical.
I wanted a texture pack that looked semi-realistic, but I wanted to keep the magical look and feel of minecraft. For example, I wanted wood to feel like wood. Dirt to be dirty. Ores to also be scattered amongst the rock without looking like a cartoony picture slashed on to a slab. Most important of all, I wanted to keep the same generic feel from the original Minecraft textures. The results are shown in the following screenshots:

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely keep that in consideration - However, I use and test this pack with the connected textures mod, which makes the small dashes in the glass essential to see where the glass is on larger surfaces (otherwise it seems like one is walking on thin air).
I might add in the texture I made for the mod to join the glass together.
I know for a fact soar doesnt give permission for any of his textures.

Well this is tricky, Soar has a disclaimer on his thread saying this:
"It is unauthorized if soartex is included by other textures.
Since permission of the remix was actually troublesome, I decided to give nobody all permissions.
I require time for English reading and writing.
It delays creation of a texture."
As it says that so clearly on his thread the Mods will want to see solid proof that permission has been given, in other words they will need to see a post directly from Soar. It would be best if you get Soar to post on his thread or in this one that he gave you the permission.
That way you won't get any trouble.

I gave him the permission using Glowstone.
By the thread of soartrx, it was clearly written in the list of the mix packs which gave permission.
Moreover, I think that it should be admired since indication of plagiarism will be goodwill.
It is my mistake which did not mention this thread.

Updated - changed pumpkins slightly, refined the iron ore again. Made the dark version's smoothstone and ores somewhat lighter - so this pack can still be used in normal circumstances :tongue.gif:
Dramatic Change to the Dark pack -
-Much lighter textures all around: far more playability.

Installation:
Patch your game using Xau's HD texture patch, and make sure not to select "better grass", as this makes the game look terrible.

Updated again, fixes to Iron ore and tiling on Grass. Also accentuated the positives, especially in the light version.

Dark: Lighter Wood, Cobble, Stones and Ore. Found it was too dark to keep using. Also updated the sides of the grass to match better.
Light: Removed pink coloration of the wood and refined all textures slightly.
