THIS IS VERY OUTDATED
Ok. I admit it. This isn't a brand new idea. Still, this pack is complete with a bit of blood, some disgusting textures, and the simple drag-and-drop ability not all texture packs have. This pack is 16x16 pixels and is easily dropped into the game mod-free! All textures are darkened by at least 25% to add a deathly atmosphere. That is with the exception of tamed wolves.
Easy installation:
Once you have downloaded the file, open minecaft and hit the "mods and texture packs" button. Once there hit the "Open texture pack folder" button. Then drag the zipped texture pack into the texture pack file. Re-run the game, select it, and play!
A little less easy installation:
For the water to work (Not be default) you need to download a amazing program. Here is the link:
Download this HD texture pack patcher and run it. Browse for the Apocalypse pack and select 16x16 as your tile size. Also follow any other instruction given on the Patcher's page. Remember to have animated water and animated lava checked. Then hit patch. Note, unless changed it will overwrite your default textures. I suggest backing up before-hand. Hit test game to see if anything changed. If nothing changed, consult xau, not me(I don't have a clue how these things work). If it does work, you can close the patcher and run minecraft normally. All credit for this miracle program goes to xau. The developer of it.
This texture pack was built off another, the link to the texture pack I built mine off can be found here.
A few textures will resemble this pack. Including the currently unused char file. All credit to a few textures (Bricks and refined wood if I remember correctly) belong to the creator of this pack; Nurio.
A big thanks to SnowFalcon'sApp/SFA/Sam! His scrummy water texture is amazing! Here's the link to his channel:
I tried it, it's cool, but when I hit a spider, it just turns completely red... Is that normal? Because it doensn't look so nice. But overall, nice TP.
Oh yeah, and the inventory is confusing.
Hmm. My guess is because I darkened the spider, the red stands out more once hit. Thus showing only red.

The Streetlight capital of the world! Or... something like that.

My only problem is the inventory GUI
It needs dividers
SFA's water pwns all though
Yeah the inventory needs some work. Will be fixed after the 1.5 update.
