I didn't want it to come to this, but it has. I have recieved the yearly hosting bill for the site, and there is no way i can afford to pay it. Running this site costs more than most people would think. I can't switch to free hosting because there is way too much traffic (last month there were 9,450,323 download requests on the skin server and 144,922 hits on the website). The advertisements help a little, but, I'm paying most of the bill out of my own pocket. That wasn't a problem before, but I recently lost my job, so I can't keep doing that. So, here's what it comes down to: There is a donation box below. If can help out, please do. Every donation will help. If you donate more than $10, I will add a one year premium membership to your account as soon as premium accounts are ready to use. Just send me an email after donating with your account name
02.01.13 So, yeah, things just keep getting worse.
The payment for the hosting was taken out of my bank account today. It was an automatic payment that went through two weeks before it was supposed to. So now my account is overdrawn, and I can't pay any of my other bills. I really don't know what I'm going to do now. For the first time in my life, I'm being kept awake at night by fear of financial problems.
I've thought about it for a while now, and I really can't see any way out of this without some help from the community. I don't mean to sound like I'm begging for free money here. I'm just asking that anyone who can even give a small amount to help out, does so.
I'll also try my best to make it up to you. by that I mean that I'm offering just about any service I can give in exchange for some help. There's some free space on the server, if you want to have a website hosted. I can do web site design if you're interested in that. I can also do Minecraft mods, of course.
Basically, if there's any way I can offer my skills as a programmer/server administrator, just ask.
Please, everyone, chip in whatever you can to help AngryKhan out!
He's a great guy, and it would be a great loss to the Minecraft community if he wasn't able to continue creating/hosting the HD Skins mod!
if you can't donate (or have any suitable work he could help with), please spread the word!
thanks for update doom. unfortunatly i have no internet at home atm, 32x and 64x ports i will update tomorrow but the rest will have to wait till wednesday
Thanks for the update Doom! All is of it is amazing. You should get some randomised ores going doom
I've thought about it multiple times! it seems like it'd be easy, as I wouldn't even have to draw anything new; just shift around the current ore bits. Honestly, I don't remember why I stopped. They may have just been low on the priority list.
This is one thing I definitely will be adding in though!
(And probably changing the Redstone ore to use a less realistic skull, while I'm at it.)

Not a problem, dude!
FYI, the list of changes in the OP is 99% complete. I just forgot to add the new randomized Sand to it.
I have to say all of this new stuff your working on looks desk flippin amazing, but im just not exactly feeling love towards the leather, no offense, but are you still making changes on it or are you pretty much finished with that doom? Sorry for the criticism btw, just giving an opinion.
We'll call the leather a mostly-done placeholder for the time being. I'll fx it up a bit once I get the actual cows done, and have a better material to use for it.
For what it's worth, making the current leather did give me a pretty good method with which to do the actual cow mobs' fur/skin.
Also, it may make it better for you if you picture the old Jurassic Park toys' removable "Dino Damage" when you look at the leather. It's what i had in mind when making it
Looks like he's just wearing a Chainmail Helmet.
I tossed in the Master Chief armor for Chainmail this release. I doubt I'll end up keeping it, but I thought it was a more fun placeholder than the recolored Iron Armor.
Hello, I was making my first texturepack (I was inspired by your texturepack's gritty look) and ran into a problem... I was trying to change the mclogo.png for the front page and my version always comes up messed up... I looked at your mclogo and the sphax mclogo and they are both different sizes. Can you help me out?

As far as I can tell, that's because Sphax didn't use the original MClogo for sizing. It appears he just googled "mclogo" and went off the first image's incorrect sizing.
Your MClogo is going to be a multiple of 256x256, depending on what resolution your pack is (though it is possible to use different resolutions for a single pack, as vDC does)
256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024,or 2048x2048
Here are some quick templates using the default.
Basically, you want to put the red and green side by side to make your image; Then split it and position the two parts over the red & green.

I noticed that the texture pack supports a couple of AtomicStryker's mods by default. So I'm going be kinda lame and request support for his mod "Battle Towers". I think the only actual texture in it is the new tower golem boss. Thanks in advance if someone actually picks this up and does it.

Ok cool, I thought it was pretty funny.
