Fair enough. I haven't offered a DL link of the pack yet, and it's mostly based on Ovo's Rustic pack so nothing too bad-ass that isn't already mostly available through all the major 64x packs. How do you draw these on your PC anyways? The use of a wacom or pentablet device? Drawn by hand, then scanned in and touched up in some photo editor?
Oh no, I was saying that you can include these mobs. But you'll probably be the last person for a while.
As for how they're drawn, I could never get the hang of using a tablet. I've had one for about 15 years and barely use the thing. I also don't have a scanner at the moment, so they're all done from scratch in Corel PaintShop Pro, with a mouse.
95% of the texture (all the linework and most of the shadows) is done as vector shapes/lines. The only Raster layers are those used for the underlying coloring and shading.
To this day the effects on the that film still stand out to me, excellent film!
Indeed! It's one of my favorites, if only for the special effects.
All that aside, it seems I'm finally well enough to return to my job fulltime, so I won't have much time to work on skins during the weekdays... BUT, it also means that it doesn't hurt like hell trying to use a mouse for more than 10 minutes, so I can actually get back to doing major work on the textures when I do have the time.
So hopefully, I'll be able to get the next version out before next Monday!
In the meantime, here's a quick preview of the Pigmen:
okay, Iv'e stumbled upon, downloaded, and been far too impressed to have not said anything yet. These are amazing! Ive also read enough to know that you making a complete texture pack has been brought up before, and you say your too busy. well when you've done all the mobs, consider the terrain.png as it would be most amazing. :biggrin.gif:

A 32x32 texture pack that keeps faithful to the original textures, items, and gui.
I wonder if you could ever do a player skin that high quality? Also, Spiders. :smile.gif:
You can, but you need to use HD Skins service for them to work in online mode. To use HD character skins offline though, all you need to do is use the HD texture fix and replace the CHAR.png with an HD one.

Well thank you very much; I'm glad you're enjoying the skins!
Also, it's more than just the fact that I'm busy. If I was to do a terrain.png texture, it would have to be at least 128x, but my computer can only handle 64x terrains. As is, I'd have no way to test it, if I was to try and make one.
I'm not writing the idea off completely though, as I would like to make a full vDC pack. it's just not feasible right now.
On another note, I threw together a (crappy) preview video for the current skins! You can check it out in the first post in this thread.

Well if you ever do decide to make one, I can help test it.
I can run 256x256 and 128x128 textures flawlessly.
I'm mostly available too, not much else to do. :tongue.gif:
Especially with the summer coming up.
I'm doing little bits of editing when I can during the week, but most of the work will be done over the weekend.
So if all goes according to plan, I'd like to have version 4.0 out by Monday!

I love your art style, it's really reminiscent of the album covers and just art that the band MSI uses. Keep it up and I'm installing this! Now if only someone could make a texture pack that's like 32x that compliments these mobs well
Wow! Those mobs are crazy! That's some tremendous work done here! What is the texture pack that we can see on the pictures? I like it! :smile.gif:
It's a custom mix-match. The dirt and stone are from one of the HD Zelda packs, the grass is from "HD Gerudoku". The trees and such, I don't even remember.

Thanks! I can see where you're coming from on the MSI thing; Stitches, circle-eyes, etc...
I think 64x is probably about as low as you can go and still have a cartoony look to it. As far as I've seen, 32x and below packs usually look like pixel art.
Of course, I kind of like the contrast of having the characters/monsters be a slightly different style than the background.

Wow! I would think that lines like these would take some skill doing them with a mouse! Holy crap! Oh and thanks for the permissions too. I've been working on the pack a lot, and got everything moved out that wasn't apart of the original pack or the two that i got permissions for.
I ended up doing an entire GUI overhaul too. transparent with a metallic greenish textured boarder. During all of this, I looked to other packs for inspiration on certain items and saw how minecraft 4 kids changed the title to include a green creeper. I then thought to myself, OOOOOH I know what to do!!
I hope you like it! :biggrin.gif: I can send you to the png too if you'd like.

Yes ... lol i think you should :smile.gif:
[Inside Joke]
You're like the fourth or fifth person to mention feces.
Glad you like 'em!
Thanks!
Hopefully, they'll be much grosser once they're done. I plan on adding veins, boils, flies, snot, and all manner of nastiness to them.
Well thanks, dude.
You know, your's was actually the first texturepack I used when I first got Minecraft. :smile.gif:
