hey all, i been working on 2 shader versions, one for reflections the other for bumpmap . both are near ready to release. i only have to finish making the terrain_nh/terrain_s files... here a preview of bumpmap progress (this in no way reflects finished product it is merely a test of my shader.) (the lines in the snow i think is caused by a certain setting - i will try to fix.)
edit......
ok i am going through slow process of creating bumpmap for each block individually, just thought i'd show some sexy gold!

fixed snow, started manually applying bumpmap to every terrain block first 3 rows done so far, its looking pretty awesome - i combined bumpmap shader with reflection/water shader. i also have noticed that bumpmaps are only visible on certain angles/sun position eg the pic above the snow doesn't look done but if i look at sunrise its fine. example:
also not sure how to fix snow where grass grows
New update looks awesome doom! The new stone looks really nice. Sucks that the only computer that can play minecraft just died. Stupid hard drive died and it's only been a year. Hopefully it gets fixed soon and i can get the new update.

32x done and currently uploading. i have people over now so 64x will be done later and most of the rest tomorrow
sorry for such a large post but you should enjoy the pics.
ok 32x and 64x ports are uploaded. the premade alts will be started on today as soon as i get home.

awesome update doom thanks. i love the leather armour it is so cool. everything is looking awesome as always.
here's a couple of pics:
don't worry about the magenta png it's for reflective water
this is a nice sunrise over swamp
i still have half the terrain left to do bumpmap then i can do specular. also sonic ether (shader creator) has stated (facebook) that nvidia compatibility will definately be in the next official version, which is good news for some and myself as i'm replacing my amd card with a nvidia one in january.
oh and that punk zombie villager is wicked i love it ( i actually have a mohawk )
sorry for such a large post but you should enjoy the pics.

When can we expect these to be available for us to download? And in 128x? They're beautiful. If I could get my hands on these, I wouldn't have to use default when I use SEUS.

Fantastic!! I'll go into some more detail tomorrow, but I absolutely love the screenshots and can't wait for folks to get the chance to try out your bumpmaps and such!
Also, don't forget Amazing Spider-Man & Avengers! (both of which I liked a whole hell of a lot more than DKR, surprisingly)
On another note, I'm currently sprucing up vDC's Youtube and DeviantArt pages.
I'm going to spruce up this thread's OP whenever the guy who makes that posable MC model viewer able to use HD textures. It still looks too ramshackle for my taste; Especially being as that it's the pack's homepage.
Aside from some headers/separators that weren't slapped together in 5 minutes, I think I need a better "images" section.
I'm thinking of having different spoilers for Terrain, Mobs, Items, and whatever else.
For Mobs, I could throw use the updated model viewer (whenever the hell) to throw together one big, fancy, image for them; like something you'd see from the Jolicraft guy. Items and Terrain (paintings too?), It'd probably be easiest to just add the current PNGs, resized and with "NOT UP TO DATE" smeared across them.
Then maybe a big "Fancy Screenshots Gallery" link to the Deviantart?
...just kind of thinking out loud, so anyone can feel free to throw ideas out there!
OH! And here's the youtube background I cobbled together. Might make a nice desktop or such. (1920x1080)

thanks doom i'll try have a download for shaders later today. and yeah i seen both those also, but ironman 2 is my fav so far - ironman rocks.
edit. going to work now, have a look at glowstone - what do ya think?
Main Page Bookmarked, Topic Followed.
Didn't know you were working on a TP untill a few days ago when i started playing MC again after a few months D:
Long Story Short: Love your work, originally found out about you by looking for some HD skins that i could play with in a private MP server with some IRL friends (Ended up using the deadpool skin because he kind of has that twitchy eye :3 ).
Well, glad to have have you back, dude!
Feel free to post any cool ideas, thoughts, complaints, etc. that you may have!
And sooner or later I'm going to have to finally get around to updating that Deadpool a bit. (probably Taskmaster too, for some team-ups)
Thats what i came up with for the iron chests mod, after the guis are done i will put up the download.
Next will be balkons weaponmod or extrabiomesXL, will see.
Edit: Ok, the important stuff is done.
If you find any mistakes or think something should be changed send me a pm.

Very cool!
I'd never even heard of this mod before, so really thanks for taking it upon yourself to put this together for people! I like the use of the ram skull on the side!
I've added this to the thread's "Mod Support" links section!
Were you thinking about continuing with textures, specifically if they update the mod and such?
-- Along these lines, yesterday I took a look around at some of the famous texturepacks out there, and I'm seeing that pretty much all of them have their own webpage, forums (with SURPRISINGLY big and active communities!), paid advertisements, customizers, teams of people, and loads of other crap that I have little to no experience with or (honestly) don't have a "fanbase" big enough to sustain.
To sound like a complete *****, I think the pack has come far enough along, and is of sufficient quality, that I should no longer settle for it being some largely unknown niche thing.
I'm going to have to talk to the few well-known creators/etc that I know, and ask them some questions; But I'm definitely thinking having some sort of semi-official vDC team would be a great start. (Also, videos. I need to meet some people who can do those.)
Anywho, I don't have any plans formulated yet, so consider a plea for ideas and input from everyone!
Especially the regulars, though (you know who you are)
New update looks awesome doom! The new stone looks really nice. Sucks that the only computer that can play minecraft just died. Stupid hard drive died and it's only been a year. Hopefully it gets fixed soon and i can get the new update.
OOF! I'm sorry to hear that, man!
I've had 3 different hard drives die with all my good stuff, so I'm well aware of how much it sucks.
For what it's worth, if you can replace the hard drive, it helps to tell yourself "Well, this is a fresh start and maybe this time we can organize sh*t."
...who am I kidding, that never helps.... you get to spend hours pouring through a Font site again! When's the last time you had THAT kind of fun?!
got a small idea for the snow man (as far it is possible), cause in my opinion
a flying frozen mummy (maybe only brain in jar for the head), so it looks alil bit like the counterpart of the blazes
That's actually two pretty cool ideas that I hate to say I don't think would work out so well.
While I don't really care for snowmen, their body shape doesn't really lend itself to much (and there's no working with the arms), let alone a mummy.
How cool would a randommobs Desert-only mummy-skinned Zombie be though?! Bam! Thanks for the awesome idea lol.
The brain in the jar I've thought about a few different times, and the only thing I could really see it working for is either a zombie or HD skin head (using the outer layer as glass). Unfortunately, neither use partial transparency. (though, HD skins seem to have no filesize limit, so I don't see why adding that as an option would hurt anything. I'm going to have to suggest that to AngryKahn while he's updating his site/mod and such)
I'm also very un-keen on the idea of just plastering the same image of a suspended brain on 4 sides of a headblock (which would be for single-layer mob heads). It always looks awful.
Definitely something I want to add in somewhere though.
Here is a link to Mediafire for the mod mentioned above.
I really love the bump mapping zomb69! Too bad the Minecraft engine is so inefficient that the shaders lag horribly.
EmperorDoom, I don't think simply posting the terrain.png would do this awesome totally underrated texture pack justice. How about one of those shots were all blocks are presented as some kind of corner?
Linking to deviantart is a good idea actually. Not only is it easier for you to keep a gallery on dA up to date, it will also generate views for you which might make this pack more popular on dA as well.
Also - as cool as they look, please refrain from using only the cool shots with the shaders by zomb69. You are not doing that right now, and that's a good thing, just saying. The shaders are cool, but they just don't work for everyone. I have by no means a bad computer, but so far I have never been able to get more than 10 frames, even when using a 16x16 texture pack. A mixture of a few shots with shaders and a few without would be great.
The background for your youtube channel is great for presenting the pack on here as well actually. - There are a few shots which show great detail and a few shots that show great scenery.
First off, awesome work! Yet another mod I would never have even heard of. Thank you, from me and everyone that uses it!
I'll add it to the Mod Support links after I'm done with this post!
And thank you very much for the feedback on the background and thread stuff!
I think you're right on the terrain.png; One of those display map screenshots would suffice nicely!
I'll probably add the standard vDC black outline around the whole thing, and preview the Items, Mobs, and Paintings sort of like I do for each release, but without all the different "panels".
And yeah, looking at it now, I'm happily surprised with how well the background image works for showing it off. I'm actually thinking it'd be a good idea to shrink that "template" to about 80%, resize the panel boxes, and use it for showing off new releases from now on.
I'd have more space each time, it'd save vertical space in the thread's OP, and they'd probably look a bit fancier.
Also, not to worry on the screenshots/shader thing. Though pretty much all the recent screenshots actually use various shaders, I'm not planning on going wild with them.
Well, maybe initially; but I'm more interested in a shot that looks nice than one that's going to trick people into downloading my stuff, know what I mean?
Hooo boy, where do I begin...?
Ok, once again, awesome job on all the port work! I know how much of a pain in the ass it is with your internet, and the effort that goes into it all, so thanks from myself and everyone!!
Bumpmaps... I was initially going to go screenshot by screenshot for praise, but each dang one just got better and better!
The glowstone looks amazing! No joke, and most of the others, look damn near perfect!
You've perfetly hit the two main points with doing normalmaps for a pack like this;
1) Fiinding the perfect middleground as to exactly how much detail to actual bump (IE, the tiny details of the materials don't turn the bumps into puked cotton candy)
2) Making sure the black outlines aren't all bottomless pits.
Superb work, man! I really can't stress enough how cool it's all turning out!

Aaaaaaanywho, I had some other stuff to say, but it's all been forgotten or mentioned above.
I do have a new "No Bullsh*t Texturepack Review" by McKrawll and Jagthunder!
It's almost 2 hours long, but there's plenty of d*ck jokes for the kids!
In all seriousness, I had a blast filming this with them, and it's a fun watch. I imagine it's probably pretty insightful too, but it's my insight... so I'm kind of the only person who wouldn't know...?
Superb work, man! I really can't stress enough how cool it's all turning out!
thanks doom! i always wanted to do this so i just read instructions online and with a bit of adjusting filter i was able to do this ok. it is turning out good but when i've done the terrain i'll probably go over it a second time to fix anything thats no good or could be better.
and if you do make a webpage/forum of your own i will help in anyway i can (moderator etc..)
I think the pack has come far enough along, and is of sufficient quality, that I should no longer settle for it being some largely unknown niche thing.
totally agree, i reckon no other pack comes close to your level of quality. maybe everyones waiting till its finished?
Whyyyyyyyyyyy, man why to change the swords?????? Diamond sword was just perfect !!! what is this now?? doesn't even look like sword,, it's like a chainsaw.
i can fix for you what resolution do you want? 256x.128x,64x,32x?
edit i'm uploading original swords to alternates in all resolutions, let you know when its done

thanks and i agree, i'm just lucky i have a powerful computer (built myself) my fps is dropped dramatically but its still around 30-40 fps
I wonder though, that village idiot idea I mentioned a while back. The witch seems like it could fit the bill. Won't see it nearly as often though.
Let's see now...
