This is by far the best pack I have ever come across and I have honestly tried darn near all the 32x and above packs.. Great work such talent. Is it at all possible to make alt gui's with maybe the black wool inlays instead of the wood inlays you have recolored pink and the alt green?. That wood inlay makes it so difficult to really see what you have when you pull up your inventory or any other gui. Also for the chest it's almost 90% impossible for me to know what I have in there because of the zombie (Which looks amazing) WITH the wood inlay. If I knew what I had when I opened my chests and things I would strictly use your pack. Really though I can't say enough about this pack that I'm sure has already been said before. You're VERY talented.

As for the GUI stuff, originally the box backgrounds were dark gray, but everyone had a much harder time with them so I made them pink.
I'll toss togther a couple new Alts for the Menu inventories and the Chest (been meaning to do that for a while). The other ones though (crafting, etc) only have like 9 squares or so and you have to manually fill them each time, so I don't think I'll be doing anything extra with them.
But yes, new GUI Alts for the next release! (coming this weekend)
I'm also going to TRY and finally redo the Doom Mask/Hand/gui icons into Hearts, Lungs, etc. They need a bit more toying with than most of the pack's textures (if only because they're so small), so don't hold me to that one
I was wondering I just downloaded the new 2.4 Beta and I noticed the image advertising the new weapons and all, but I don't see them in my game. It still has the old weapon textures and what not, or do I change them somehow? Sorry if this was already explained/asked.

the alt weapons are in a separate download.. download either Dooms alts to change yourself (photoshop or gimp needed)
or download my pre-made alts , preveiw each one them rename the one you want then just drag it into gui folder.

As for the blackened GUI, well let me thank you again! The Black Wool inlay idea was great, and it's now the pack's default! (Up to date Green & Pink Alts will be included as well)

And yeah, I've wanted to do the human organs for HU Icons for a while, but keep putting them off because of their size limits (my current ones are already at the max visible pixel size). They won't be making it into this next release, but I promise to have them in soon (even if only as WIPs)!
hi i wanted to try this texture pack but when i do i cant read anything in the menu anymore letters etc became white blocks
any idea how to fix that ?
All of the "whitened textures" problems are a result of Minecraft not getting enough RAM. Use MagicLauncher to force minecraft to use more RAM, and Optifine to make the entire game run smoother.

yes make random swords!!.. also for the mob heads can you give them custom textures so they show full head not just inner layer?

another easy way to allocate more ram to minecraft is to make a .bat file... eg: memory.bat
insert this as is:
@ECHO OFF

got some more pics of my massive castle and protected village. took a couple months to build the shell out of cobblestone and add floors to every level. working on making it look better now. when it is finished or i am happy with it i will port it to an online world.

I also logged in to the game offline yesterday and does it ever end? It's just silly how good you are.... really. The "steve" textures are amazing. The man hours you have already put into this pack is astonishing. Sorry for compliment after compliment it's just rediculous. I can't believe I just recently found this pack. I personally never really cared for "dark" packs but this pack though it's undertone is dark the colors are very rich and alive. You have the perfect medium. And as you said "that alone took some time" and there are 100's of packs trying to get that and can't find that medium. Though pack making is tedious and time consuming to the texture artest, people like me are very thankful. Professionally you HAVE to be in the arts field in some way shape or form.

Damnit, after toying with it for hours last night, I don't think randomized items are possible yet. I'm going to ask about it in the TAU thread and see if anyone has any ideas.
Also, I'm not entirely sure about the heads yet. I downloaded the latest snapshot, but just tore through the jar for its textures; haven't installed it yet.

lol, not a problem, dude! In all my years, I have yet to slap anybody for a compliment; and I always love when people actually take the time to check out some of the intricacies of the individual textures, as you are! Aside from the placeholders and extremely simple ones, I do each textures as its own big project so I think a bit more effort goes into my stupid little details than most other packs out there. So yeah, it's nice. Thanks
OOOh yeah, I kind of forgot I threw some of my HD skins in as player Chars!
I did that for those who play on large servers with a lot of default Steves running around. I figured it'd be a bit nicer seeing some Avengers and such running around.
Recently though, I've been thinking of removing most of them and just updating the Doombot char to look a little more robotic (maybe with a few random variants).
It'd cut down a bit on filesize, plus I'm trying to cut back a little on the Marvel stuff in the pack (Mjolnir's staying, and the paintings will become More Paintings Mod stuff!).
vDC already has a Texas Chainsaw Massacre tool; He-Man, Warcraft, & Disney's Gummi Bears (absolutely no one caught that one!) weapons; glass based on the windows of a specific Medieval monastery where a bunch of nuns were raped and killed; furnaces based on the ovens at Auschwitz; Cthulhu, Evil Dead, Warhammer 40k...
It's just a strange eclectic mix of general horror/geekary, and I'm trying to steer it a little less towards being specifically a "comics pack".
OH! While it occurs to me, I'd like to finally officially state something as a fact: "vonDoomCraft" as actually named after myself "EmperorDoom".
It was originally only ever supposed to be HD Mobs, so I figured "what the hell, even all the big packs out there now are named after their authors". It doesn't imply that the pack is "in the world of Dr. Dom" or anything like that (which I hear entirely too much on youtube)
Though, with the updated Doombot Chars, I could at least say "you're a Doombot who awoke in Minecraftia" or some such.
thanks for update doom. i like the enchantment effect its crazy! and the end portal and pillars are cool too. and the diamond armour is great! atm i have a bug where mc crashes when i try go to the end (maybe because snapshot bugs). so i'll have to wait till thats fixxed before i can see the end.(and thanks for using one of my screenshots)

How much RAM do you have allocated to minecraft? I only have 768mb and i can run the pack perfectly.
