thanks heaps for these awesome mob texture you are trully an amazing artist. please please please make an entire texture pack in this style it would be amazing.!! you deserve many many many diamonds so i'm gonna press that button a million times !!!! edit: it only let me press once so i did em all on this page!
I apologize if this has already been asked/answered, but what texture pack do you use? The moon (or Earth, I should say) in the screenshots of the ghasts looks freaking awesome. Thanks! :biggrin.gif:
I was wonder what textur pack for the back round you where using because I noticed that the top grass and the side grass where from my HD gerudoku remake but the mud was from MC4kids. Was it something you just shopped together for yourself or it it from someones pack?
*High pitched Simon voice* Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
*Lewis* Watch out there is a creeper behind you.
*Simon* Look at the little piggy!
*Lewis* WATCH OUT! CREEPER!
*Simon* What? Where?
*Lewis* Behind y-(sssssssssssplosion)
*Simon* Dammit.

I've thought about doing a full texture pack extensively; unfortunately I don't think it'll be happening.
For one thing, it'll just take too long. I've got a full time job, fiance, family, and all heaps of other stuff constantly eating up my time. And believe me, doing these textures is a very time-consuming process (The tiny, scribble-details on the Ghast took 3 hours alone).
The main reason though, is that a full Terrain.png would need to be at least 256x. My computer can only handle 64x and below textures for the Terrain and other major texture files. it just wouldn't be possible for me to do at the moment, as I'd have no way of testing any textures/changes/etc in-game.
I know people will be disappointed, but honestly, there are so many great Terrains/texturepacks out there to choose from, I don't think it's that big a deal.
Also, I kind of like the fact that this one's different; in that it's more of a supplemental pack than a full-on "everything in your minecraft game must look the way Emperor Doom wants it" overhaul.
I think if more of the pixel/texture artists here made smaller packs like that, it would much easier for those people not experienced with game modding/installation of mods&textures, to get their Minecraft worlds looking how they want it.
...I don't think I did very good job of explaining what I meant here, so I hope no other modders jump down my throat over that last sentence...

First off, let me say that as far as I've found, your cartoony grass is by far the best.
That said, my current Terrain is a mix-match of all sorts of blocks from different packs. The Dirt and Stone are from one of the Zelda packs; there's some World of Warcraft textures in there; probably around 20% of the Terrain was completely made by me, but I don't think any of that stuff is in the screenshots.
I apologize if this has already been asked/answered, but what texture pack do you use? The moon (or Earth, I should say) in the screenshots of the ghasts looks freaking awesome. Thanks! :biggrin.gif:
The moon is from the Mythos Pack. (thanks Draktonius853)
New ghasts look great! Good job can't wait to see the full set, hopefully with some poking you will do neutral mobs as well. :biggrin.gif:
I am planning on doing the Neutral Mobs later on! I don't think they'll be quite as detailed as most of the hostile ones I've made, but I've got some ideas swimming around my head; and I think if their faces are done well (and funny), it'll make up for any lack of detail on the bodies.
(IE: they'll probably be more along the lines of my Slime skin than my Ghast skin, as far as details go)
Well damn, that killed the few ideas I had swimming around in my head. Only one left would be to make them look out of this world sorta like facehuggers in the alien movies.

It's funny you should mention that; I was actually just thinking about how the Spiders could be done into kind of half-assed facehuggers!
I think I'm going to stick with them being spiders; probably a mix of cool details from various real life spiders.
I don't really have a drawn out idea for them yet, but I'm thinking of doing something in this style:
Obviously, not the body shape or anything like that. More, how I drew the arms/joints and such back in the day...
So I just noticed the "in desperate need of videos" things and wanted you to know I used your mobs in my last mob sorter video a few days ago :smile.gif:
If you wanted to see mobs you skinned being shoved through hamster tubes. Haven't done any nether recordings yet, so no ghasts in that vid. I hope that helps some :wink.gif:

Awesome!
Thanks so much for sharing this! I'll add it to the OP.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I'll add it to the OP.
Like we talked about, I'll showcase these when you get closer to completion so you can have a better video for the OP. Eagerly awaiting pigmen and spiders :biggrin.gif:
I'm willing to show off your mobs in a video, I was planning on doing a mod / texture pack spotlight in addition to my minecraft video series and I think this might get me some more views, would that be alright? I'd be great if you could also spread a little word of me :smile.gif:
Btw, I'm using these mobs for basically every texture pack, and they are AMAZING.
Your mobs are badass!! But i fear if i tried to use this, my laptop would go to the big scrap heap in the sky.
Not necessarily. My computer is pretty crappy and I haven't had any noticeable FPS drops while using these.
Obviously, everyone's computer is different, so if you do try them out, please feel free to tell me how they work for you!
Awesome job on the mobs.I can't wait to see the Zombie pigsI have some questions#1 Will you ever upload your Halo HUD?Why 256x256 texture pack? not something lower res
1. Sure will! At the moment, all I have done is the Pumpkin Blur, Health & Armor bars, and the menu screen background/buttons. So I need to finish some pieces of it, like the Item Bar; then turn it all blue instead of pink. Other HUD stuff, like Chest Backgrounds and the Achievements Screen, I'm not going to include; as I'd like to have it mess with peoples' personal texturepacks as little as possible, while still letting you feel like you're in a Spartan's suit.
I'm thinking of releasing it as another mini-pack (like my "HD Mobs"), and probably naming it "vonDoomCraft: Halo HUD".
I don't have a time frame on it though, as I'd like to finish these mobs first; and they're taking longer than expected due to some recent injuries of mine.
2. Technically, I'm not even sure "256x" is appropriate. Most of the textures are 1024x512, but I was told to post "[256x]", so I'll go with it.
As far as making them smaller... frankly, all the detail would be lost.
People can feel free to shrink them for their own personal use (using "Pixel Resize" should keep the transparencies working properly); But because these textures can be used alongside any sized texturepack, I don't see a need to make variant sizes.

I'm glad you're enjoying them!
Yeah, feel free to use them in any videos you want!
I'm actually having a hard time spreading the word about these Mobs, so I'd be more than happy to help you out with your similar situation!
Just let me know whatever you do with them, and I'll post the videos here! I think I'll also start listing links to videos in all the future READMEs, too. If you can think of anything else, let me know.
On a side note, I began work on the Pigmen last night!
I'll try and get them out as soon as I can, but as I mentioned before, I injured myself pretty bad about 2 weeks ago, and it just plain hurts using the computer too much.
Still, I'll try and do what I can! Sorry for the wait, everyone!
Check out my texture pack
