Just a suggestion, I think that the iron sword could be (maybe as an alternate texture) a katana for wannabe deadpools.
i am going to upload some alts for people today so you will be in luck - for now new blood rain/skullflakes are updated for 2.4
new snapshot looks great its got monster head blocks, new nether charred skeleton and wither -boss ( To spawn the Wither Boss-You need 4 SoulSand blocks placed in a T formation and you place 3 Wither Skull on the three blocks on the top part of the T.) carrot on a stick + saddle + pig = control pigs direction , the only reason i use mcpatcher atm is for snapshots.
oh doom i want to ask if you can send me the moon .psd please. there is a problem with my skybox , some stars are if front of moon and the moon is'nt lit up properly i can fix these thngs and also i have thought of a way to flip the moon at midnight so it is'nt upside down.
also guys complaining about clouds download better skies mod support and turn clouds off with mcpatcher - the clouds are more natural and way better tthis way
I asked on Facebook but I'm not sure how often you check that
Do you plan on doing a normal Enderman skin? I like the Slenderman one but I'm thinking of installing The Slenderman mod and I think Endermen looking like Slendy would lessen the creep factor of The Slenderman.
I'm sure Doom doesn't want or need any further discussion about Optifine or MCpatcher. It's up to the individual and he's said his piece. So let's not clog his thread up with it any more please. (unless he wants to :P)

Well they look like slendy because that's what doom based the texture off. Enderman. Slenderman. See the similarity even with the name.

Sweet.
Yeah, the new stuff looks pretty cool! I don't imagine I can get all that creative with the Wither, but I love the idea of mobs dropping decorative heads. (should also free up those mob head paintings I have for something else).
I only worry about whether or not the "masks" use a second head layer. If they only use a single one, the zombie and skeleton masks are going to look pretty bad.

i allocated 2 gb of ram to it... that's all my ram. seriously it's a little irratating, do you think the other von doomcraft will work better?
Well, putting ALL your RAM into anything is going to cause major problems...
I get that you're irritating, but what you should hopefully understand is that there are computers that simply may not be able to handle the full-on vonDoomCraft. (on that note, yeah, I'd recommend trying one of the lower resolution versions)
Believe me, it pisses me off to no end when one considers the fact that my entire terrain is about the same size as (for example) a CounterStrike: Source filing cabinet texture...
As I've probably whined about enough times to annoy the regulars here to no end, Minecraft is just a big ol' box of unoptimized, head-butting code; and I still find it funny that my old computer could run Crysis on high but would lag endlessly if I had Minecraft set to "fancy".
With that in mind, I'd like everyone to remember that vDC is still basically a grand experiment in Minecraft textures.
Before there was a Sphax, and the only two real HD packs were an unpolished (at the time) Misa's and an already abandoned Bordercraft; I had started testing whether or not MCPatcher could even handle larger textures (this was back when just kind of assumed MCPatcher's limit was 64x or such), throwing together my HD creeper and zombie. It happened to work, and so a little while later I released them as "vDC HD Mobs" and said "hey everybody, you know that the posted texture size limit isn't hardcoded in, right?"
From there, a number of nice HD packs have come along, but I wouldn't say that any (with the possible exception of Misa's?) have been as experimental as vDC along the way.
From the original HD mobs, to the first Mjolnir & bow, to some of the hidden easter egg features; there have a lot of little innovations made here along the way that have spread out to MC texturing community.
In short, Minecraft was never meant to look this good, and there will be problems as we try new ways to force lipstick onto this big blocky pig.

D'oh! I meant to respond to that one on Facebook, but I end up using the site a lot less than I probably should.
Anywho, yes. I do want to do a different Enderman! I just have to come up with a better concept first.
Originally, I was going to go with a bloody, naked thing; But then Amnesia became surprisingly big and kind of killed that one. So I make a cool (in my opinion) Slenderman, and literally as I'm working on him, the character of Slenderman suddenly gets wide-recognition; to which my response was "well, ****..."
So yeah, it may sound stupid, but I'm unhappy with how mainstream-popular a character is in a texture pack cobbled together from obscure references and general geekary.
actually i made better skies support (night and day). check op in supported mod section
Yup! Credit for that goes to Zomb!
I'm not really planning on taking a big look into better skies until Optifine has it too. Frankly, I have some cool ideas but they're extremely complicated and I have way too many textures to get to first. I don't want to put all the time into its coding nd such until everyone can use it.
Saw this pack.
Loved this pack.
Downloaded this pack.
Tried to play with this pack.
......whatisthisIdon'teven.
I'm sure I screwed something up, I just don't know what. All aboard the fail boat!
Honestly, I'm not the best when it comes to the technical-****-ups questions, but from I have pieced together, I believe most of these sort of problems stem from Minecraft not getting enough memory to display the textures, yet being prevented from crashing or such by MCPatcher/Optifine.
I could be completely wrong, but at the very least, this problem seems to be a fairly recent one; So I'd also suggest checking the discussion thread for whichever texture patcher you're using to see if there's any other mention of similar problems.
(Or in Steel's case, it might be a good idea toast around the TAU thread! I can barely illicet a response on there, but I bet if you mentioned the problem there'd be at least a few ideas)

Anywho, I realized that it's been months since I've had any updates to my HD skins, so I'm going to try and spend the weekend working on a few that I've had planned/in the making for a while. I have no idea what will get finished on them, as I have to make a lot of new materials from scratch and reinvent some artistic methods for certain ones.
But I've had some skins promised for a long time that have been on hold for the pack, and it's past time I set to getting them done. (Zomb, your's will probably take a while longer. I want that want to look perfect, and it's complicated as hell)
Seeing Slenderman become popular has some annoying side effects I agree. It annoys me to no end to see someone who thinks he came from the game "Slender". I've known of Slendy since shortly before Marble Hornets started. You could possibly make Endermen into tall Grey Aliens. The Greys are creepy as hell.
I only worry about whether or not the "masks" use a second head layer. If they only use a single one, the zombie and skeleton masks are going to look pretty bad.

thanks doom take your time with that skin i dont mind...
also unfortunatly the mob head blocks use inner head layer so hopefully mcpatcher/optifine make an option for them to use own texture like the buttons and pressure plates.
and i realised if i fix the skybox the way i was going to the moon phases would not appear so i thought of another way, turns out i didn't need moon.psd . its just going to take longer ( i need to pinpoint where the moon is in relation to the stars and then delete the stars in front of moon - as they rotate at same speed/direction)

i have just uploaded a file containing pre-made alts ,7 item alts (many different weapon combos) and one terrain alt for wood. just preview them then rename the one you want. download here
Sweet.

That aside, we're going to do some quick responses here because I'm in the middle of a texture...
- Yeah, gonna have to sit down and come up with someone better (but more along the original lines) for the Endermen.
Maybe still the naked, bloody thing, but covered in black "tendrils", ala my endportal stone.
- Awesome work, Zomb! I know people will really appreciate the pre-made Alts! I'll update the OP with them once Ad.Fly gets sorted out. Also, I can'[t wait to see what you've got cooking with the sky stuff!
- Yeah, about 45 minutes to and hour usually. Not this time.
Aaaand for anyone wondering what I'm working on at the moment...
Halo 4 Master Chief, 10 hours in.
When it's done, I';ll throw a bunch of colored ones up for download, but I think it might be cool to have a "Color your own Spartan" PSD too; with the different armor bits on seperate layers.
