Sorry these updates have been so slow! My normally busy schedual managed to get even busier, as I managed to sprain, pull, or tear every abdominal and lower back muscle I have. So I'm trying to find time to work on these these where I can.
Also, I probably can't work much now and I'm going to have some medical bills coming my way, so as much as I dislike adfly links, every little bit helps... so expect to have to make an extra click when downloading the next update or so.
I'm also thinking about throwing together some shirt designs for teefury.com.
Anywho, here's a sneak peak at the almost-finished ghast!
As far as I can tell, everything's all set with the basic skin. All I have to do now is make the GHAST_FIRE skin.
This looks vaguely disturbing, but amazingly intriguing... I can't stop staring at them, even though I know they're nothing I should keep trancingly gazing at...

Don't forget to come back and let me know what you think after you've played with them a little (what you like, dislike, etc).I try to do some tweaks to the older skins with every release, but there's a lack of critique, so it's a bit difficult.
Also, (and I don't want to drag this thread off topic...) I'm not sure about any new forum rule, but from what I can tell, the little green "+" buttons in the bottom right corners of posts look to be a nice replacement to Diamonds (which I believe are still around. I think they just changed the code for them). It keeps track of how many you get and adds them to your "reputation". Neat.
(makes one wonder why they didn't replace the green button with a little diamond image)
The ghasts are really nice but I dislike the way it looks like there is a crude face on the sides. They are still really good. Also why do zombies have a shirt and tie? It is a bit to formal for me.

It's actually a continuation of the face on the front, not non-related separate faces on the sides.
The Ghasts are now 10-eyed monster with Jonah Hex-like mouth-connects. (IE, the cheeks rotted away, leaving only the flesh around the sides of the mouth.
As for the zombie suits...
...because the ones from Zombies Ate My Neighbors wore suits. That's why.
Not to mention the fact that zombies in suits have been classic since the original Night of the Living Dead.
It's actually a continuation of the face on the front, not non-related separate faces on the sides.
The Ghasts are now 10-eyed monster with Jonah Hex-like mouth-connects. (IE, the cheeks rotted away, leaving only the flesh around the sides of the mouth.
As for the zombie suits...

That makes more sense. You don't really get too close to ghasts so I guess I didn't notice. And as for zombies as classic as suits are its not really my style. I would rather them wear a light blue shirt like in the default minecraft, but I'l live with it. These are the best textures out there.

Once the other hostile Mobs are completed, I'd like to throw together some alternate textures for some of the monsters, including zombies. The one I'd like to do the most is a skin of my favorite zombie, Tarman from "Return of the Living Dead":
I think he'd need a simple soundpack too though. (who wants to hear gurgling when you could hear "more braaains!" ?)
I'm glad you recognized it! I spent an hour or so digging through old skinpacks last night, trying to figure out where I had originally gotten it from.
Anywho, as much as I'd love to do Spiders next, I'm still having a hard time coming up with a good, workable, concept for 'em.
So, at this moment in time, it looks like the Zombie Pigmen are coming next! (though, they won't look zombie-ish. check the OP for a concept drawing)
