rofl.. if it makes any difference I am involved in talks with the bukkit devs trying to get better support for hd packs in the curse client/bukkit.. and they said flat out they are talking to Kahr about officially adding the patcher to it... that's the base for the api from what I can gather. so...a small prtion of the community is at least directly involved. (which is saying a lot considering how vocal I can be...lol)
i have no internet at home till next friday. when i have it back on i will be finished the mod textures and will release 64x, 128x and 256x versions. i got a ps vita the other day too with wipeout! yay!! no more boring trains and busses!

*shifty sideways glances* ...feel free to use "Look at this Bukkit! This is what people are missing! minecraftforum.net/topic/264712-" as an argument.
Also, someone should yell at them until they make up a texturing position and give me a job.
That's how it works right?
That and blowjobs?
Hello Emperor Doom
I did not post a long time because I had personal problems.
To give you a little thanks-for-your-fantastic-work I decided to build something.
When I saw netherbricks the first time, I fall in love with it - I decided to build something with it - in the normal world, not in nether.
I made a small video to show the progress of this project:
It would be great if I could get a small feedback.
Thanks, Rattikal
Sorry to hear about the problems, Rattikal. It is great to have you back though!
And wow, thank you for the video! It is exactly the kind of thing I'd love to see more of from the community once the pack is "finished"!
(I can't really expect much now)
I've added the video to the vonDoomCraft playlist on YouTube (for the 2 or so people aware of its existence) and left the feedback in the comments; But to reiterate, I love it and you did a great job with the lighting and overall mood of the build!

Okeydokes dude! I know I say it all the time, but don't feel rushed or anything.
Also, very cool news with the Vita!
God, I don't think I've played a Wipeout since Nintendo 64. I remember it being fun as hell though!
That, and I vaguely remember being terribly upset about something involving going backwards on the tracks... so maybe watch out for rape goblins that pop out of the "TURN AROUND" graphic or something...?
Hey semi good news (Or bad, depending how big a fan you were. ) although you've probably heard already. FlowerChild is dropping BTB development/support, so if you ever decide to do BTW textures, you won't need to do buildcraft stuff too.
Hey Doom here are some more screenshots. Its still not complete so this is just the section that is mostly done and when the remaining areas are done I can post some more screenshots. I saw in a few comments previous that you have a video playlist for vondoomcraft that if you would like, I would be willing to make a video of the completed project that you could throw in there if you like.and they didnt go in that message for some reason lol. here they are in this one:
OH MY FURRY GNOME
sorry i had to say that because the detail in this texturepack is incredible you are an artist keep up the texturepack and mod support!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg i just realized how Epic this texture pack is But......How will my rotten PC handle this? :/
Btw i am thinking About the armor, maybe you should add diffrent textures to each type its kind of Boring with the same texture but just recoloured (not trying to be mean or anything)
He is. He's only doing that so they aren't default xD
Used your HD Mobs which were completely amazing when combined with the Bordercraft texture pack. Bordercraft developer went MIA, but not a problem now! Haha. This is amazing.
Sorry, i'm quite new to the forum. I'll go and fix it.
Here's the fixed link http://imgur.com/6mz6u
What an evil little room. I like it!
I also like the usage of colors!
I'm used to seeing thing mostly build out of Cobble and the stonier blocks, so I really love seeing all the colorful builds people have!

Absolutely awesome!
I know you showed some screens of the build before, but I don't remember the interior being so colorful. Honestly, I think that may be the most colorful thing I've seen built with vDC. I love it! The flooring especially!
Wow, i've come back from holiday to this! THIS IS F$~#ING AMAZING!!
Only thing that you might want to consider changing is the armor - it has an unprotected part near the stomach that could be a potential weakness if it were in real life. It looks good either way though - just a thought.
That's why I do this.
To comparatively spoil peoples vacations after the fact.
As for the Iron Armor's chestpiece(and you're not the only person to point it out), I purposely left the abdomen open for a couple reasons that I think outweigh the fact that some imaginary fiend might stab your non-existant hitboxes in their one weak point.
A) It helps shape the body. You might not notice it at first, but if you walk around a little bit with a full set of the vDC armor, you'll probably start realizing that your character feels a lot beefier than with most other packs' armor.
I was very selective in where I cut the various armor pieces, and how they layered over the player model, in the hopes of making you feel like (for lack of a better example) someone near the proportions of the Hulk. It's why the pants are shaped like a human pelvis around the middle, and whey the hands and shoulders are shaped the size/shape they are.
For the chestpiece specifically, it's roughly shaped like a ribcage; and helps invoke the feel of a more defined human thorax, instead of a cube over another cube.
This one's pretty simple. I wanted a fair amount of the players' skins to be visible.
I first tested a prototype for the armor which was all opaque. When I played online, everyone looked like robots. it was boring, and counterintuitive to one of the rare games to actually encourage you to make your own skins.
It lets more of your "personality" shine through, despite what you're wearing to keep a giant green penis from exploding you on a clifside.
After you finished the whole TP (which is awesome as i said about 3 times now...)
could you accept request for mod Texture implementation (with a vote for viewer [dont know the right word..])
For mine i really like the tp, and it is getting better and better every update...
i would request Mo Creatures (big, but i think you would make it awesome), Redpower 2 (if you want to), Millenaire and more paintings...
you see i play with mods often...
Why, thank you!
Honestly, I'm not thinking that far ahead yet, as there's still a ridiculous amount of small, usually forgotten, textures to do.
Though, I'd give it a 90% chance that when the pack is "done" I move on to mod textures just to give myself something to do.
As for those specific mods:
- "More Paintings" is one that I'll be working on alongside the pack. Right now, like 80% of the paintings are placeholders. So as I keep making more, I'll be adding them to the texture spots that mod uses.
I just don't have that many I'd like to keep at the moment.
- Millenaire would be fun to texture, but last i checked it had a whole lot of textures to be done; with more being added all the time. So nothing's certain.
-Mo Creatures... no. I might do the occasional random skin for one of their mobs, but overall my experience with the mod itself has been mostly negative.
-Red Power I'm not familiar with. I'll look into it though.
Honestly, I think the most likely mod will be Better Than Wolves (and don't go all nuts over me saying that, people. it'll be a WHILE), if only because it has a powersaw that I need to cover in blood and gore.
Again though, nothing's set in stone.
----------------------
On another note, I spent most of the day messing around with trying to make gravel usable in builds. I've got about 6 or 7 different new gravels to throw in as Alts, so folks can use it as they see fit.
Currently, I have one that almost looks like a cheap cobblestone road, and is dark enough to work with the other cobble/stonebricks/etc.
It works very well as villager roads and could become usable building material for once. I'm just not sure how shitty it'll look in the evironment.
Though, to be fair, I think pretty much everyone agrees that gravel sucks and no one cares about the texture (especially the new default one)
I dunno. I'm going to have to toy around with it.
But it doesn't look like there's going to be a release this weekend. I'm doing some of the more pain-staking bits like fonts and such, so they take some extra love.
I could be wrong, and get a surprising amount done tomorrow, but I would say some form of mid-to-late-week release is more likely.
Okay guys, I've been messing around with the fonts and came up with this one, using the "Astro City" font.
I really need some feedback on this one, as it's the only font I've tried that looks good at fullscreen, and is still legible in a smaller window. Plus, I think the spacing is okay enough that I can avoid the long process of coding each letter's width. Also, the texture is double the size of any other one, so let me know if it effects your FPS at all.
TO USE:
1) Save the above image and rename it "default.png".
2) Create a folder named "font" and place the newly renamed "default.png" inside.
3) Open your vonDoomCraft texturepack and add the "font" folder inside
Glad to hear you like it. When it is finished I'll try to make a youtube video of it and you can put it in the playlist. Appreciate the complement on its colorfulness though. I like making things bold and stand out and I find your texture pack can really help with that a lot. Will also give this hd font a go when I get the chance. I really liked the one you released on the previous page and this one will probably be good as well but I will post my response when I have the chance to look at it.
A few Suggestions/observations:
1. The cobble and mossy cobble dont tile correctly together, but apart they tile fine.
2. The glowing animation for glowstone and the animation for soul sand both move very fast, i'm not sure if it is possible to add more frames, but i think the glowing especially should be a bit slower.
3. The fire inside the jack o' lantern, and the fire on the lighter (Flint and Steel) could be animated also, though i do realise this just means extra work for textures which are already great and the parts that aren't textured are probably going to take priority.
*Edit: just read your bit about finding a good fire animated texture, hope to see it soon.
4. The glass' connected texture when building an L shape, leaves a very nasty looking inner corner, i'm not sure if this is possible to fix but i thought i'd mention it.
5. The redstone looks great but as afore mentioned by Krawll it is difficult to build with so maybe an alternate texture could be made.
6. Also the Connected texture for the bookshelves is repetetive with the skulls repeating themselves on every block in the middle, i'm not sure how it could be fixed, but i love the texture of the bookshelves, and they go well in the texturepack and i like the idea of a skull on the bookshelf.
*As a side note the animated paintings and enderman arent working for me, i am using optifine with animated terrain on, i haven't read the entire thread so some of this stuff may have been mentioned before, but it is pretty long, and i'm not going to trouble myself with it.
keep up the good work Doom!
*Edit:
i tested out the font and in the default window it is difficult to read, as the narrower horizontal lines of the letters such as the 'e' compress to nothing, so it looks like a weird c. Some of the other detail is lost, leaving some holes in letters and sometimes parts of letters blending together. This is quite unfortunate as in fullscreen it is an amazing font.
*Edit:
it is the menu which seems to be difficult to read in the default window, on actual signs the writing is legible from a few blocks away before it starts to become hard to read
I'd just like to point out that i do love your texture pack and it is truly a work of art, I dont mean to point out the flaws but i'm just trying to give some constructive critisism to help make the final product that much better.
I'm happy to help with some of the low res stuff, and today i was tempted to get out my sketchbook and send you some concepts.
So just remember there are plenty of us who are willing to help, Zomb being a perfect example.

Done!
When first looking at the font, like on signs, you think, "It's a little small, but, it looks great with the texture pack!" however, when you get like 4 or 5 blocks away, it becomes harder to see. And even worse, on the chat, on a screen with a resolution of 1600x900, it feels almost impossible to read. I had to squint my eyes, and get close to the screen, and even then it was a little harder to read. If the characters themselves were just a tad bigger, I think it would go along perfectly with the texture pack. However, as it is now, it'll cause a bit of a headache to people trying to play right now. (Personally, would love to use the font, but, it being to small gives me a headache after not even 5 minutes of using it...)
