Just to be clear Vondoomcraft is Emperor Doom's work not mine, there is no specific due date for completion but rest assured he works as much as he can.
The battlegear pack i am making with Emperor Dooms alternate weapons and Nerd-boys sheilds.
I take no credit for actual textures i simply rezize the pack for doom and have permission to some files for battlegear. The battlegear pack will be released as 32x, 64x, 128x and 256x as soon as i'm happy/finished.
new preview of mine&blade-battlegear 256x texpack vondoomcraft add-on: (gotta come up with better name )
(ignore white square where plume is meant to be... it is known bug atm)

Very cool! I'll comment further once I'm out of work, but I do have a question about the plume.
Does it sway, like the capes, or it is stuck in place? Also, does it go the full length of the top of the head?
(thinking about the mohawk on roman helmets...)

thanks, unfortunatly the plume cant be like a mohawk as it comes from the back of helmet (not over head) and it doesn't sway. also it is only supposed to be 256x128. i have made some nice plumes and will get more pics today when i install the fix for the plume to render properly.....
edit: its hard to get good pic of plume, so had to look at in inventory.
spears are mostly done.
armour done but needs a tweak.
capes done. plumes done.
still todo: armour icons and sheild trims
only missing 3 maces.....
Sweeet! Gotta say, i love the way the shields came out.
I added a "Supported Mods" section to the downloads in the OP.
It might be cool to throw all the screenshots in a Dropbox gallery or something, so i could have the one link go to all of them.
Feel free to make your own release thread or whatever though, if you wish!
I'm considering it a vDC "spin-off", free to do its own thing.
If its cool though with you, once there's enough stuff finished for it I'd like to do some finishing touches and include it in vDC proper. Obviously, you'd still be free to do your own edits with your versions and all.
Anywho, work has been absolute hell this week and I've not had any real time to work on textures yet.
I did toy around with an iron armor but I wasn't happy with the results. I may just have to ditch the "dingy Iron Man" idea for ion armor and go with something a little more medieval looking. I dunno. I've got a lot more toying to do before any good armors come out. (though, I'm thinking of messing with the diamond Space Marine armor early)
I did come to the realization that you could get some pretty cool body shapes using the triple body-layer of the torso-pants-chest boxes!
I may have to fiddle with this and end up with some pants that look goofy without a chest piece (IE, up to your armpits), but I think it might be worth it.
At least with the Space Marine armor, I can basically use the Pants to cover most of the body in the Black Carapace and have their actual chest armor/backpack be the chest piece.
WIth a bit of stylization I think it could turn out to be an interesting addition. Then again, it's not super hero themed so the idea itself probably wouldn't fit.
Or maybe I just want to see you work your magic on Isaacs rig, who knows

thanks.... i considered making a thread, i might so maybe at least to get more people to come here also. i will get some cool screens and put all in a gallery later today. i have still a few things to fixup before it's finished then i will send to you for final approval and finishing touches etc.
I think if I was to do an Isaac, it'd have to be as an HD player skin.
It's not that I'm worried about deviating from the pack's theme; It's that after toying unsuccessfully with armors the last few days, I'm realizing that the more detail they have, the crappier they look when they're color-corrected to fit their material (gold, iron, etc).
I actually did put a good amount of thought into using his armor for the Gold, and I'm pretty sure that the helmet would look neat, but the body would mostly look like an old penny with black stripes.
It might be possible to have it look cool by only doing the helmet and actual metal armor bits (IE, the floaty rectangles) and have the rest just be empty, showing the player's skin. It's something I'll toy with once I have better understanding of the armor and such, but I can't make any promises on whether anything will come of it.
As to the actual style of the pack... I really don't think there is one, other than "what comes out of my think-hole".
Sure, there's a fair bit of Comic stuff in there, but there's also Slender Man, Leatherface's chainsaw, Skeletor's sword, Hellraiser's Lament Configuration, and soon enough a WH40k Space Marine suit and Cthulhu minions...
I think "general geekiness" is probably the closest to summing it up, but I prefer to dwell on the more blood-soaked aspects and go with "horror-pop".
And yeah, once it's mostly all set, I'd like to be able to go in and make some more Alts for the decorative blocks and such, to fit peoples' styles more. Don't think I have much for "steampunk" though. Frankly, I think I've already got the "dingy machines" stuff working well enough that there's no need to add some cogs and make it **** colored.
For what its worth though (and as a semi-interesting fun fact), the pack is called "vonDoomCraft" because at its heart I always wanted it to be mix of 1) Medieval stuff, 2) Super Science, 3) good ol' fashioned villainy. Just like good ol' Victor vonDoom himself.
So while not Steampunk, I think it shares some qualities.
Your Slenderman is amazing. That and the soul sand animation are probably my two favorite parts of the pack at the moment. Whatever you decide on for armor is bound to look great.
I'm not sure if this is a bug with the texture pack or if it's a bug with minecraft itself, but when I get a good distance away from stone bricks, there are gaps between each block and I can see through the wall.
the thing with super sience always reminds me frankenstein, and dat thing that absobs the lightning (idea for an animated brewingstand with lighting effect then its brewing) and the the table on which the monster was created and animated to live. ( bed, paintings with strange scenes)
and that leads me to the topic, how about scars on the animal? (shaved fur or/and missing fur parts so the animal look diseased or mistreated) so it looks like an evil scientist did crazy experiments on them? (brain transplanting from cow to pig and such things) (reason for the zombieplague? who knows ) the strange mutated mooshroom.
It's funny you should mention the lightning thing. Back before vDC was to be a full texture pack, I was planning on making the large, long painting into a mad scientist lab setup; with the tesla globe things and switches and doodads, but gave up when i realized what a giant pain in the ass it was.
Likewise, I've also put some thought into the Frankestein slab/bed idea. I may just throw a quick one together as an Alt, but I don't think for a pack default it wouldn't stand out enough from all the other stone textures.
I do want to throw more mad science stuff in there though, now that I think about it.
I may just remake the cloning tube into a double tubed one on a 2x2 painting, and use the 1x2 one for an animated tesla-globe ala Frankenstein. Use those, some iron blocks and some redstone repeaters and you've got a pretty awesome lab!
As for the animals, I'm not entirely sure what I want to do with them yet. All I really know it that their bodies won't be heavily need a lot of outlining as they're all pretty bland, fat animals. most of the work will be in their faces, which I'll probably make look half-retarded. I'm not sure most folks would get the lab experiment animals idea, but I like where you're going with the Mooshrooms!
Perhaps an animated spider eye that seems to be crawling?
Or an eye of ender that is looking at you.
Nether Wart with strange tentacles.
And perhaps for the potions itself with smoke coming out of it, or bubbles.
Great ideas!
-For the Eye of Ender, I'm planning on simply having it blink. I think that without any sort of surrounding border (IE, an eyesocket) it wouldn't look right to have the eyeball itself moving around.
-I've been struggling with an idea for the Nether Wart.... everything from a skeleton unburying itself, to red thorn bushes, but I think you just nailed it with the tentacles! I can have red tentacles that slowly grow, and wave when fully grown. Might be neat if the waving animation works properly.
-I was actually thinking of doing that with the potions! I just have to come up with a bottle shape I like and test how the potion recoloring process works on different shades of gray, and hopefully they'll be smokey. Possibly animated, but no promises on that one.
I'm not sure if this is a bug with the texture pack or if it's a bug with minecraft itself, but when I get a good distance away from stone bricks, there are gaps between each block and I can see through the wall.
I've actually noticed this before, myself. It appears to be a bug with either MCPatcher or Optifine (which do you use, by the way? And which version?).

Okeydokes! Updated the links in the OP! I'll try and get you those axe bits soon. I'll try and throw together some base materials you can use too.
In other news, I think I've finally come up with the final concepts for the armors!
LEATHER - Black latex Gimp Suit w/ nipple clamps!
The head of the zipper will use the outer layer. The thighs, chestly bits, armos, eyes and some various little parts will be transparent; Showing the underlying skin.
CHAIN- Chain/plate armor of the Elder Gods!
General Cthulhu plate armor with bits of chainmail between. Squid/skull check/backpieces with tentacles acting as ribs. Shoulderpads will resemble conch shells. I'm thinking of having a fish scale (or something similarly aquatic) loincloth over the chainmail leggins.
IRON- Dr. Doom inspired armor!
The helmet will be skull shaped (ala the vDC Skeletons' head transparency). Part of the upper arm, eyes, and mouth will be transparent.
GOLD- Golden, jewel encrusted Skeletal Armor... w/ Crown and handle-bat mustache!
Most of the face and arms will be transparent. Just a whole lotta gold, jewels, and pizazz.
SO I'm guessing the logic behind chainmail armor is that since you can only get it from villagers, it might as well follow their Cthulhu theme? Can't wait to see it!
I think I might run away from the leather armor though.
Edit: Btw, it was awesome seeing you in Krawll's stream ^^

are you forcing Antialiasing or Anisotropic filtering through your gfx cards control centre? this is what can happen. use optifine for AA and AF.
