I know you don't plan to do items or armor yet, but I think some of your hd skins can actually fit in with some armors... but that's just my opinion.

I think you can you use the war machine for iron, anthe iron man for gold. As for the diamond, it will probably be best if it was thor's armor. I think that 'cause the diamond weapon is like the thor weapon and since they would both be diamond, wll, I think you get it. For leather armor, you could do some sort of Superman armor.Or maybe captain America. The gimp suit idea sounds stisfying though. Many possibilities coming from Marvel comic books.

I didn't have the means to make one back then.
My old computer was awful.
Now that I have a new computer, I can finally get to work on all the random textures i've wanted to make!
I'm currently using an edited version of the Ultra Shaders from Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders.
The new videos and most of the screenshots were taken while using the mod.
Why do the blocks have a weird gray line running througth?
Those are the placeholders for the block I haven't created yet.
They're just the default textures with a crappy "cartoon" filter applied.

Like I mentioned earlier, some of the paintings will be either remade or replaced later down the line. Specifically, the shield&swords is just some lightly edited clipart.When i do get around to redoing them, I'm looking forward to doing SOMETHING with animated textures. just not sure what yet.
Honestly, I can't remember WHAT I did to make the stained glass. I made it before my 6-months-or-so hiatus. (Looking at it now, I need to fix up a lot of it)
I'll upload one of the PSDs and send you a link, so you can rummage through the layers if you want.

All that aside, I finally got a scanner hooked up; so I'm finally able to post some of the concepts I've come up with for random textures and HD skins.
Let's see...
Manny Calavera (HD skin) and various plant sprites...
Raziel with transparent Wings cape (HS skin), and various plants
Batman (HD skin), and a few H.P. Lovecraft-inspired villagers! (currently, I plan on making these guys for the texturepack)
New mini-Creeper concept!
For this one, the head would be transparent, as well as the bottom and sides of the legs (giving them an insectoid feel)
Honestly, if I do go with this one (RandomMobs!), I may try out some facial animations as well!
Thor & Loki HD skins!
(I've also come up with a pretty cool standard face for my HD skins)
Pinhead & Spawn HD skins
Joker HD skin!
This is the one, out of all of these, that I have to make.
I'm thinking of using the outer head layer for most of the head, and cutting out the mouth; So the teeth are sunken in from the face.
As always, let me know what you all think!

Thanks! I'm going to try and hurry along with the plant sprites and then take a quick break from the texturepack to work on the Joker skin (Possibly Spawn too. he should be fairly easy)

BETA 1.1 OF vonDoomCraft IS UP FOR DOWNLOAD!!
It includes:
- Bug fix for partial block transparency
- Fixed leaves (added more transparency to break up the block shape)
- New torches
- New flame sprite
- New cobwebs
- New red & brown mushrooms![/indent]

It shouldn't be too long. Since I hooked up the scanner last night, I finally did what I've always wanted to:
Made a series of printable skin & texture templates. So I can now hand draw my textures as they appear in their prospective texturefiles, scan them in, and basically trace over them.
It's already saving me heaps of time!
Hello Emperor Doom. First, I want to say I am watching your progress in making this incredible nice texture pack. It's my first post in the Minecraft Forum - I made this account just to say thank you and to motivate you to continue in devoloping it. I am playing Minecraft since the 1.8 Beta, I used the Bordercraft texture pack. After Dr. Kalashnikov stopped updating it, I searched for another dark-comic-style like texture pack. Then, a few days ago, I found VONDOOMCRAFT. It's great, I absolutly fell in love with it
My favourits are the animated soulsand and the diamond "sword".
I don't know how difficult it is, but it is possible to make a 256X version of VONDOOMCRAFT after you finished making all textures and items? Altough, how about changing the look of the inventory? They are just suggestions, just want to propose this

For the first time ever, I've been creating most of my textures at 128x instead of making them at a larger scale and shrinking them. It just a better sharpness to the textures.
So I would need to find something like a Paintshop plugin that blows up images and tries to retain their details. I know they're out there, I'm just not willing to pay $50+ dollars for one yet.
Once the terrain and most of the big textures are finished though, I'll see what I can do. I'd like to have 64x, 128x, and 256x versions available in the end. I just can't promise they'll all look good.

On another note..
Now that I've got the scanner hooked up and templates I can use, I started toying a little with the items and man-made stuff.
As you can see in the screenshot below, they'll all have a more cartoony feel than the natural textures you've mostly seen up until now! I think it'll bring a great contrast to the overall look of the game, that kind of harkens back to the old days of cartoons; when the characters and movables were cell drawings and the backgrounds hand painted.
So yeah. I think now you can get a better idea of the overall visual theme the pack will have.
If you thought it was looking a little too Borderlands-y, you're in luck. It'll have a feel all its own!
Ghast fireball -thing, lever, redstone torches, and the torch.
You can also check out the little brown mushroom sprite in the corner.

Paintings are technically done, and included. A lot of them I plan on replacing over time, but there are no default paints in the pack.
As for the Offline player skins, it's not Steve, but it is already in the pack...

Just finished the spider webs and red mushrooms! (although, I may get rid of the large mushroom, and make it into a patch of small ones)
And I've tweaked the leaves, adding more transparent bits to break up the blocky shape.
The next update will include these, all the plants in the terrain, a few tweaks to the current textures, and some other random terrain bits.

Beta 1.2 is up for download!
I've done a quick update to make vDC 1.2.4 compatible.
It also includes the new items shown off in the above screenshot.
I've also made the texture I haven't made yet into the plain old default textures. People seemed to be confused by the others one.
