UPDATE: New computer's up and running, and I've gotten all my old files back!
I do have to get acclimated to Windows 7, and re-find some old PaintShop Pro plugins and such; But, after that, I can officially get back to work on all things vonDoomCraft!
Let me give a big thanks to those of you who donated their money! Once I'm a little more comfortable with the computer and everything, I'll thank you all personally.
Also, thanks for all the help while I was out of action, Zomb69!
I really appreciate you stepping up on your own to help everybody here!
Excuse me, could you tell me how to get HD Items? Sorry 'bout this question, but I'm pretty new to HD Texture Packs.
There's basically 2 methods, as far as vonDoomCraft is concerned.
You have to use one of the HD texture mods for either to work.
1 (If you want a full HD texturepack with vonDoomCraft) -
Simply download whatever HD texturepack you want and copy the files from the vonDoomCraft ZIP into that texurepack's ZIP (make sure you overwrite the other textures with vDC's!)
2 (If you want a default textures with vonDoomCraft & HD items) -
Download whatever HD texture you wish you take the Items from. Copy the ITEMS.PNG from inside the texturepack's GUI folder, into your vonDoomCraft ZIP (Overwriting vonDoomCraft's ITEMS.PNG).
I recommend the items from the Pure BDcraft texturepack.
They look nice and they're the same resolution as my animated Mjolnir (so its texture won't shrink)

yay that's great to hear!! no problem with helping others, i will still help you (havent managed to donate -yet but i will)
windows seven is very easy to get accustomed to ... much better than vista imo more user-friendly.
huh just noticed i got yr #500 post
EVERYONE ELSE: remember you can download all the hd skins and rename them to use for randomobs, use them as alt zombies or pigmen. i have most in the nether gives minecraft a cool feel when fighting ironman and deadpool etc.
OMFG! Yes thank you thank you thank you. I cant run higher than 64x and this will be the best pack ever
Im guessing that the mobs will be used in the pack as well?
No problem.
Yeah, the Mobs and everything else will be in the 64x version; though I may keep most of the non-terrain textures at 128x (as really, the terrain.png seems to be the only texture that really effects framerate)
Does that mean some day or never? I'm not forcing you btw.
Honestly, I don't know. Earlier on, I let a handful of other texture artists use my stuff, and it turned out awful and left me bitter towards the community.
At the risk of sounding like a jerk, I'd probably err on the side of caution and assume "never".
That aside, I've some updates!
Clockwise:
Gravel, Clay, Sand, Brick, Netherbrick, Wooden Door, Planks, Snow.
I'm well aware of the facts that the bricks look awful at the moment, gravel needs some color variation, and the netherbrick could use some tweaking, but the basics are there!
Also...
After damn-near a year, Spiders are finally finished!
They look a little iffy in the screen, but just wait until you see these guys crawling around for yourselves!
(I think folks are really going to dig the facial transparency, once those mandibles are jutting for their in-game faces)
As always, feedback, critique, and handfulls of precious gems are always welcome!

That's alright. And amazing textures you've got there! I can't wait for the finished product!
Thanks everybody! Glad you all seem to be liking the previews!
I only have a few more of the basic terrain blocs to get done before I release a Beta version of vonDoomCraft with the new terrain bits!
(Obviously, I'm nowhere near done with the terrain. I just want to get all the natural blocks done first)
Hey man loving the previews. I have a question: has all this been done since you got your new baby or had you started previously on the terrain? I know you had spider previews up before but no mention of terrain.
Looking very nice though!
All the terrain stuff is brand new. my old computer could only handle (barely) 64x; so I had no way of making/testing/etc a 128x terrain (which is needed to show the detail)
On that note, I have a few more preview updates:
-Brand new leaves,
-Fixed up the crappy bark a bit, and made a jungle tree variant,
-Netherrack and Soulsand,
-Myselium,
-Snowy-dirt
Looks very nice!
Just saying but the nether rack looks very similar to lava. I know you have yet to make a lava texture pack, but the nether rack blocks look a lot like lava.
Thanks dude! I appreciate the feedback!
I'm not too worried about the lavaness of the Netherrack yet. Before I cartooned it up, I actually made it into a realistic texture of black rocks with lava between them; so it's kind of what I was going for.
I also spent a a few hours messing around with a balance between the black and red portions of the texture. I wanted the Nether to be a lot darker than default, but still have an overall red tone. The ingame result is a Nether that's a lot spookier than people are used to.
I think people are gonna have fun with it!
Also, I haven't started on the lava yet, but when I do make it, I'll be sure to give it a much more yellow-ish color than red. It'll look more like real lava, and give a nice contrast to the darker, reddish, Netherrack.

awesomeness everything is lookin awesome so far!! just one request -please animate the soulsand (check out misa's soulsand)... love the redstone!!
this will easily be the best tp when done!

More info coming later today!
Second seems to be Stone Brick to me...
And I assume you're asking if the pack is higher then 64x, because your computer can't handle anything higher than that.
I can almost guarantee you that this photo is of a 128x pack with what seem to be shaders.
lookin good. your facebook page has some great photos too. best hd textures ever!!
Here are the ones I've got mostly done so far:
Once completed, the terrain portion of the texturepack will be 128x, but I'll offer a 64x version too. (though it may well look awful)
At this moment, I don't want any of my textures used in outside texturepacks.
Sorry.
No problem.
