On another note, this pack will eventually include all the mobs (not just monster); And with the first release looming, I'm going to name this pack "vonDoomCraft: HD Mobs"! So be aware that the thread title will change! I'll try and make the thread title stand out a bit, as the search option's gone.

I didn't have a chance to work on them today, but I'll try and have a release up by tomorrow night. If I can't finish the Slimes, I'll just release the Zombie and Creeper as a starter.

More than likely, I'll throw out some random HD player skins over time.
The first will be the zombie in this pack. I'll include instruction on adding him as a char.png and using that HD character mod.
After that, the only one I really have planned is an HD cartoony Master Chief. It'll be somewhat in the style of these skins, but with smoother linework.
I'd like to, later, do armors that are made up of Halo armor variations, to go with the Master Chief.
Probably also an HD Deadpool at some point. My girlfriend and I are big fans.
I've currently got a custom non-HD Deadpool I made, if you'd be interested.
(I plan on releasing all the random little 16x skins I've made for myself, once this pack is up and going)

I don't want the same thing happening with Skeletons, if Notch makes them rise out of the ground or something in the future.

That is a concern of mine. While the major characters (zombie, creeper, etc) will have huge textures, I'll keep the animal skins and minor hostiles (slimes, not sure what else) textures smaller. My computer is is majorly behind the times, and Windows is held together with toothpick; so I'm using my clunker as a benchmark as to whether or not most people with decent-enough computers can handle these.
Right now, with no mods going, my framerates are exactly the same as they were when I was using much smaller mobs skins for these characters. I didn't get any noticeable lag when being chased by a number of zombies & creepers either; So hopefully, they'll be good to go for most people.
Yeah good point. Also, with the lightning turning pigs into zombie pigmen, it will actually turn them into pigmen and not the zombie kind. Hes basically making a new mob for that. MC4KIDS already has a placeholder for it at the moment. I'm not sure if they are hostile though. I imagine they will be.

I'm epic fail. I went to his blog and it totally says zombie pigmen :sad.gif:. I would prefer it be pigmen! Oh well. Also, all this time I've been making suggestions and have yet to compliment you for what you have done. It looks excellent, and I'm very excited for your future work. I currently use MC4KIDS and really enjoy texture packs that use a similar style. Cant wait to see what else you come up with.
I'm so using them. I don't care that I only use 16 bit packs, I'm using these mobs. It'll be a little glitchy without a patcher, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

I heard somewhere that in 1.5 pigs will turn into pigmen when struck by lightning.
Maybe that would give you an idea on how to skin them.
As I was making the zombie, I actually had the Zombies Ate my Neighbors zombies in mind; but never checked a screenshot.
Zombies just look good in a fine brown jacket and blue/grey slacks.
It has that "classic zombie" feel.

As with all HD skins, you'll need to use either Xau's HD texture fix or Kahr MCPatcher HD Fix for them to work.
It's a custom one. I'll release it whenever I'm happy with it. It currently has a lot of placeholders.
