Ok guys. I finally finished my queue of mods that I was retexturing. That means I am now going to start on the main pack.
So I'm going to do a few things. I'm going to start a new thread so that I can update the opening post regularly and keep everything organized. I'm also going to be looking around for an online file host (probably Mediafire or something like it) to host all the downloads.
I did some testing and have found out that this is actually a bug in Forge. The white background doesn't appear in Vanilla. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about this, Forge has to fix it.
I'll still be keeping an eye on this thread for a bit longer, but all new things will be released over at the new thread. And let me know what you think of the new (again) pig.
How would I add the alternate helms to the pack? Are overlays different than the actual item itself? I dont know how it works lol
Did you mean to respond to the new thread?
Anyway, if you are running 1.7.x+ then you would load it just like any other resource pack in the selection screen. If you're running 1.6.4 and lower you will have to open up the resource pack zip file and overwrite those images with the new ones.
I want to edit the texture of the birch door, oak door and dark oak door. I don't like the texture with this grinning face and would prefer designs with iron mountings like the other doors (granted, I don't like the green of the acacia door not so much, but it's better than the oak door for example). I would also chance the design of the wooden-blocks of birch and other more to the design of oak (I don't go for the diagonally plank design).
Well, I did redo the doors when I took over the pack. You might like them. Just redownload the main pack from the new thread. Here's an image of them:
Anyway, to edit textures you will need an image editing program capable of handling PNG files. There is of course high end software that cost money and lower end stuff that doesn't. High end software includes things like PhotoShop which is available for Windows and Mac. Lower end software is something like Gimp which is available for Windows and Linux.
