Really quick; the new update will be out tomorrow!
It's taken longer than expected because of 1) random work schedule 2) trying over and over to animate the flowing water/lava and ending up with nothing good.
Anywho, the update fixes most of the problems I've seen like the Clock, Compass, and such (still have no idea on that chest-sky thing), plus adds some new stuff:
- Hoppers
- the rest of the minecart icons
- animated activator rail
- New Dropper and re-done Dispenser (it's a skull now)
I've also added a few of the blocks that slipped through the cracks, like the "off" detector rail.
And now for the list things giving me a headache:
- Quartz: Marble takes 2 seconds to make; it's somehow making it blend with the pack that's a problem...
- Flowing Animations: At the moment the flowing water & lava are little wonky. I've tried multiple times to do little "waves" in the flow, but it hasn't turned out well...
- Witch: I worked a few days on a blood covered naked Witch, but I think it may be impossible to make that damned Witch model look cool!
I'm toying with it more right now, but I may just turn her into a zombie and start a new Witch from scratch...
Anywho, getting back to textures! I'll it up responses and such soon!
Whenever I download the 64x and try to use it, it goes to default and stays there until I use a different texture pack.
And whenever I download the 32x and try to use it, I still get a default, but it selects it. I looked into the 32x and found that there is no Texture folder, so no blocks or items.
Could you please help me with this? I really want to use this texture pack with my Silent Hill 2 Soundpack.
Edit: After many downloads, I finally got one that works. I don't know why I was having so much trouble with it, though.
So what's new?
- New Hopper & item
- New Activator Rail (Animated!)
- New Hopper & TNT Minecart items
- New Dropper
- Redone Dispensor
- Fixed Detecter Rail
- Fixed Clock & Compass
- TEMPORARY FLOWING WATER/LAVA FIX!
- Brightened the flowing:
* Grass, Sidegrass, Tall Grass, & CTM counterparts
* Deadbush, Fern, & all Saplings
* All Leaves
* All Treebarks, & CTM counterparts (bottom "tree rings" left alone)
* Both Pumpkin Stems
* Egg item
As mentioned, the Flowing Lava & Flowing Water are not done. They use Zomb69's fix until I can animate some new ones with an actual "flow".
Just downloaded this texture pack, and overall, I'm pretty damn impressed. It's a really refreshing new look that really breathes life into the game. However, I do have a few complaints.
The lava / water flow is broken for me.
This really sucks because the actual lava / water source blocks you've made are amazing, but I only get to appreciate it when it isn't flowing. It appears you know of this bug, but I still wanted to bring it up.
The inventory UI / Icons are waaaay too dark.
From the inventory window, to the items themselves, everything is really really hard to see. I switched back to my previous texture pack just to compare, and holy crap it was like the fog was cleared. Suddenly my eyes were open and now I could see again. When using your texture pack, I really have to strain my eyes when searching through my inventory.
The backgrounds for each inventory slot are simply too dark / colorful. It's hard to tell I'm even wearing equipment sometimes due to the fact that the icon is the same color as the gear.
Darker items, such as wood, glowstone lamps, or stone brick flat out appear invisible due to this. (Glowstone lamps are the worst culprit, but stone brick and wood are close contenders.)
"Bagged" items are also too similar to each other, making it hard to discern which is which without throwing them on the ground or hovering over them. I can't tell which one is gunpowder and whichone is redstone. The same goes for sugar and glowstone dust. I'd just prefer to have a more distinctive icon for each item.
I don't like the mountains in the background.
There are plenty of "real" mountains in minecraft and I don't really need the texture pack throwing any more my way. It's distracting and unreal--it just doesn't fit. I do however, really enjoy the starry sky that comes out at night, so I don't want to just turn off "custom skies". Is it possible for you to release a version that simply doesn't have the mountains in the background?
Despite my complaints I think this is one of the better texture packs I've ever seen, and can't way to see your future versions. So thanks in advance for taking the time to read my ramblings.
I find this odd, while it is dark, I am surprised you are having as much trouble as you are. Have you tried upping the brightness of your monitor?
I personally love the 'dark' colors of this pack and truly hope no more brightening is in the future!
My minecraft / monitor brightness are at what I believe to be acceptable levels.
I enjoy the dark vibe of the texture pack overall, and don't think that that should be changed. But in regards to the inventory, I don't think it's very good. Several people I have shown this texture pack to have agreed with me on this, and expressed the desire to have the inventory screen altered. You don't necessarily need to change all of the icons, it's just that the contrast between the inventory background color and the icon colors makes it difficult to see details.

U can easily lighten it yourself =D Just by going into the zip file That's what I did. Problem solved.

i took them mountains off in optifine but lost the stars i didnt even realize it till you said something about that. ive played around with this pack an awful lot and i remember seeing them mountains in the custom skies folder and deleted it and guess what. now i have the stars back with no mountains yay!
this is what i did
environment/ sky0/ sky1.properties is for the stars. you want to delete sb.png sb2.png and also sky2.properties and sky3.properties. im not fully aware of any problems it may cause but it does help speed stuff up and works great for me.

Thanks again, I'm a big fan of your work.

I'm not sure if you know this but the sun isn't animated anymore.

Mind sending me your version, or perhaps explaining the steps you took? I've never really edited textures before.
