I was curious about how the game would look like using textures from the game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, so I compiled these together.
Those are all 256x256, taken directly from the game and slightly edited. I'm not really interested in continuing this, but if anyone with enough skill and determination wants to try it or just wants the textures I could post them here or pm you them.
If it's just the terrain...I'm game to do it. Looks friggin cool so far

I played the demo..still have it. But that's it. Not completely familiar with accessing the files these days.

Mind you, I have played through all of Amnesia. Great game! Freaking scary!
If only you could change the sky colour to be much darker.... Although, If you put on black/grey clouds, it would probably make outside look a lot more intimidating.

I sent a PM to Lilyo about just that.
This isn't a custom job. Meaning I'm using the game's textures and/or editing them like Lilyo did. So I hafta mess around a bit to see what's doable. I could possibly make it multiple rezes. Also, don't expect to much more than the terrain unless we get volunteers to do the items/mobs and such

Well...after goin through the textures and starting a template, adding some base textures (at 128x128), I just found out how bad I lag. So I may do a 64x translation...but 128x is too much for my crappy video card I guess

I talked a bit with Lilyo..and we may tag team this. I have seen some of the textures for mobs in there as well....but mostly just expect a hack job of the textures into a couple different size version packs.
I made the second post, so my updates will be there, and Lilyo's in his.
*edit - and I'm currently doing a whole pack...so don't expect daily updates :tongue.gif:

Really awesome terrain... Didn't like the glass though.
I fixed the glass (made it transparent), and made the pack x16,x32,x64,x128, and the default x256.
I'd post a download link but I don't expect it to be appreciated, since the OP and Gestankfaust are working on it themselves.
on another note though. are you guys sure its legal to copy the textures and use them in minecraft. (in the sense of copyright ect)? it would be a shame not being able to finish this pack because of silly legal issues.
Maybe not, but I don't think Indie Developers are as quick to sue as lets say Activision or EA.
Highly doubt there will be any problems with this.
Not that I care.

As far as I'm concerned...post it. Not like we aren't using some one elses' work already. The more that help, the more it would make a complete pack.

I'm pretty sure the textures can be used for non commercial uses.

The glass was there as a test using Stainedglass (fancypack mod).
I rather you not post the download until we actually finish the terrain or get some sort of playable copy out.

Do you have an idea what textures should be used for each block? I think I'm going to make the current diamond texture into the stone slab texture and use the current stone slab texture for the sandstone.
Do you think the grass should stay as is or make it greener? I'll add a sort of biome support/ shading to give it more variation. I was also thinking about using the clouds layer as a sort of sky by making most of it semi transparent and dark, though it would look weird if people build above the clouds.
