Birch (want to make it cherry, but unless notch adds a biome triangle for birch trees, not gonna happen...)
You can do this if you just change the leaves in the terrain.png into pink and then make the foliage files transparent. But doing this would make all your trees that same thing and they wouldn't change.
It still wouldn't affect birch i'm pretty sure. It is hardcoded into the game to make birch that colour... BUT the recent changes I've made to the biome triangle should please most people. Pink is still there, just not covering the entire world!

Thanks for all of your ideas too! Will certainly help me with some decisions about some blocks/items.
Now for some random info:
-All swords are being turned into katana/katana type weapons (probably all samurai weapons anyway)
-Half steps will be full of marble-y goodness!
-Rice paper walls take the place of red wool for the time being.
-Tatami mats are yellow wool. (might make more tatami mats as wool so you can come up with some sweet patterns for your floor)
-Bonsai as saplings will definitely be implemented! (if not for first release then they will be in the first update)
-Torches = Lanterns. (a bigger red one in the case of redstone) They might get some writing on them or something but at the moment they are just very basic.
-A lot of the textures you see now are 'alpha' I guess you could call them. I hope to add more detail to them in future releases BUT seeing as everyone wants a release, I will release the pack and then work on the detail.
Sweet cant wait to get this, also what are you doing about roofing material, because im using wooden planks roofing, and fencing so i can use with pagoda, it looks nice.

This pack is beautiful. I instantly fell in love after I saw those cherry trees. The foliage/leaf texture tiles perfectly, and it works great with the biomes. The wooden planks look great, although I think you could lighten them up a tad, just so interiors don't look so dark.
A cool idea for roofs would be to make cobblestone a dark, dark black/brown color for japanese-style roofing, for dojos, tea houses, etc. This way your roofs still look fine with any other texture pack on.
Also, I can't wait to see what you do with the armor. Samurais...

one thing i must say is that i really liked the look of your cherry blossoms shown in one of the first pictures, any chance of bringing them back (also i sooo want to snatch them up if thats okay with you, your welcome to use my sun or moon as i noticed you haven't done yours yet)
You need to use the HD patcher to get my cherry blossoms :smile.gif:
It's (so far) the only way to get custom biomes to work.

Going underwater lets you see more detail on the sun so that's what I was "attempting" to do with this one xD

Ok guys, small progress update!
I have made the sun a bit better, still blue though but still working on it :tongue.gif:
The moon is done as is a redone iron. A lot better than the iron you guys have but still not perfect. I have also done ladders, cobble and bricks. Possibly more that I've forgotten :tongue.gif:
Anyway, pics of the art. Note that any strange looking lines are just because of the lighting in game. Makes paintings look a bit odd in areas with uneven light.
(Fixed a slight problem with this particular painting for the next version as well)

Omygod. This is beautiful! Can't wait to download. And btw, I like your smooth stone. It's hella hard to find a pack with good smooth stone, making me have to use the Custom Painterly Pack. But now, now I can LIVE! No more dumbass looking dogs and **** I don't like!
Ive got 3 ideas for wolves, and I hope they help(even though i know in most Texture packs, mobs come last).
1.A fox, which are embedded into Japenese Mythology. Can transform(well not in minecraft, but they can in mythology.
2. A Raccoon- Not as embedded into Japenese Mythology, but still my Fav of the ideas. They can also transform, and are better at it than foxes.
3. A Wolf(I know, you didnt expect this one XD)It could be Okuri-inu, a ancient Japenese God that would follow travelers home in the form of a dog or mainly a wolf.
Ever seen the movie Pom Poko? If not, watch it. It's amazing. And based in Japan. And heres the thing that will make you want to watch it. It was made by Studio Ghibli. The best people ever.
The chest is a bit weird but everythin else looks great
