Brilliant texture pack, loved it. loved the design. hope so see more from you. I added a screenshot of my current world dedicated to this texture pack, enjoy :smile.gif: bookmarked the texture pack link. hope to see future updates loved the Tatami, would be nice for them to be a little lover. Most tatami don't have anything upder them they are just a thin mattress plus it would be interesting to see a texture pack with a smaller bed :tongue.gif: Looking forward to more of your work. I've added a screenshot to this comment that shows my current world dedicated to this texture pack enjoy :biggrin.gif: Embed Removed: https://www.minecraftforum.net/linkout?remoteUrl=http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/9682/20110608131516.png

Generally, people who use tatami for flooring in the game (or wool for carpeting) will actually set it into the floor and it works fine that way.
But I like your idea about making the bed lower. Sheep, I think it is possible to do this! If you make a lower bed, you can just make more of the upper part of the bed tiles transparent. Shouldn't be too difficult at all.
Then you could do a "proper" Japanese bed , basing the platform off your plank texture and the mattress on your tatami. Easy to put them side by side to make a double bed as well. Thoughts?

"Don't know why you should feel that there's something to learn... it's just a game that you play."
Hey Sheep! Just popping in to say hi! I was also looking at some of those pics from the fans, and they all look really cool! Thanks to your pack of course!
Hey Sheep! For the longest time I was using your default 16x pack, and I finally decided to try and find a new pack to use. I loved this one right away and have been using it for a while now, and I just now realized it was, once again, of of yours. Keep pumping out the great work!
Here's a screenshot of my first little home made using this pack:

OMG
I have to say that this is the best minecraft theme I've ever seen since I started this game!!
Btw there seems to be a problem that when I'm in the game with the Nagareru 1.0, all my paintings on the wall just doesnt display anymore.. and it worked well with the 0.95 version..
any solutions???

Hmmm, I'll have a look into it. Not sure why that would be happening... :unsure.gif:
Also, Thanks for all the comments and support guys! :biggrin.gif:
epic texture pack it easy to install (unlike the others) and it really beautiful, I saw the the screen that the tatami are placed in a pattern what is that pattern?
wow!Nice pack! i can see ours do look similar! and yours too looks great, i really like the chest and the 'gui' they look amaizing! :smile.gif: Keep up the good work :biggrin.gif:
Hi all, found out that a LOT of people really wanted a Japanese/asian/awesome texture pack so I decided to take it upon myself to make one!
So far I have only done the paintings and some of the terrain but I figured I may as well create a topic and see how much interest it gets! For anyone who is interested, the name (according to google translate) means 'flowing' in Japanese. If there are any Japanese knowing forum goers out there, please correct me!
Download link now available! Have fun guys, please tell me any issues you have, problems or suggestions!
Wool guide!
Ok, most of you might know this by now, but my pack uses a lot of the coloured wool's as different textures. This is a guide to let you know what has been changed, and what it has been changed to! (these aren't in order!)
White wool - White plaster, still works as wool though which is why I did it!
Black wool - No change
Dark grey wool - No change
Light grey wool - No change
Red wool - Red plaster
Pink wool - Rice paper wall (suits wooden door)
Dark green wool - Plain fusuma
Light green wool - Fainted fusuma
Dark blue wool - Horizontal tatami mat (LHS)
Light blue wool - Horizontal tatami mat (RHS)
Brown wool - No change
Yellow wool - Red wooden planks
Dark purple wool - Vertical tatami mat (top)
Light purple wool - Vertical tatami mat (bottom)
Cyan (greeny blue) wool - No change
Orange wool - Black wooden panel (great as bottom floor of castles)
Update info
1.0 - Updated to work with 1.6.x
I added trapdoors, grass n' shrubs, maps, new gravel, new red flower, new items (with sushi!), new iron ore, new bookshelf, portal chocolate cake (will be changed when I get a good idea of what to change it to. Suggestions? :biggrin.gif:)
As always, many tweaks.
To use this pack to the full extent of it's ability and to get my custom biomes (cherry blossom trees), custom water colour and custom lava you're going to have to use a patcher. It's a pain, yes, but until Notch supports texture packs fully by letting us use custom biomes, water and lava, it's the only way to access them. I suggest using the Beta patcher I've provided in the link below. It installs once and lets you swap between any texture pack with the normal texture pack selector (in the main menu of Minecraft). It automatically patches the pack you switch to so you don't need to worry about re-patching every time you want to swap texture packs.
tl;dr, If you want cherry blossoms, pretty water and lava, click on the link below and follow the instructions in the thread.
EShredder - Awesome GUI! I slightly tweaked it, but still. Thanks! :biggrin.gif:
richasackboy - Used his armour as a base while I am still editing it!
doku - using re-sized versions of your leaves as a stand in till I create some proper ones!
Mojang - for making the game and making the base textures!
Me - for making this pack! :smile.gif:
Almost everyone in this thread - contributing ideas!
tooki - donated his wonderful iron door!
(still searching) - for providing a base for the biomes colouring!
could you change just 2 things?
the doors look.
and ESPECIALLY, the windows... i can deal with the doors but the windows are buggin me.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
I'm just about to undergo some major texture upgrading work for this pack!
I'll show screenies of my progress and I'll hopefully be able to implement some of your ideas.
Thanks again and expect first screenies tomorrow provided I don't get too much homework :tongue.gif:
Forum software ate my cookies for the last month or so...
So in addition to fixing that little problem, I just wanted to say this is one sweet texture pack.
Do not be fooled by its 16x16 simplicity folks, for it is truly spectacular to behold in game, and allows for nifty oriental style builds.
The armour, food and paintings are particularly fine examples of the packs theme, and the specialist wool cubes are fun to build with.
Oh Surplus of Sheep, thank you again for making my Minecraft an amazing visual experience!
I have an idea for the sun!How about the one with long red rays and a big red circle center but with shorter rays?I'm having trouble with my picture thing :sad.gif: but if you just search up "Japanese sun" You'll find it.:smile.gif:

Well in the next couple of days I'll be setting up a customizer where you guys will have access to all of the nagareru blocks I've used throughout updates and some that were never used AND some from my sheep pack. I have over 200 alternates so there will be a lot of choice too. This means that any and all suggestions you guys have made (including that sun) can be optional downloads! :biggrin.gif:
Oh and if you're wondering, the customizer will be set up here: Clicksy meh.
