Ok, I made two different images (only small differences tho):
First one:
Second one:
I like the first one better. Anyways; Hope you like them!
EDIT: Could I do the rest of the guis too?
That looks great! I'll use this and include you in the credits! :biggrin.gif: (I might change the item selection bar in the future though because I have idea's for it, just not time)
and sure, less work for me! (doing a LOT of work on my other pack at the moment guys, changing basically the whole thing >.>)

I like the new stuff that has been added so far. I did prefer the black windows because it went better with my wooden house. I did notice the white windows definitely look better with stone so I going to start building a castle some place away from my base.
I saw that you were looking for some ideas for a dispenser.
I was think maybe you could use a hannya mask, or something similar. of course the mouth will be where it shoots. I just thought that it might look more menacing.
Anyways, keep up the great work.
Yea, I will make black windows the default :tongue.gif:
People who want white can open the terrain and swap-em!
I do like that mask though! I think it was mentioned earlier (see below), but I will try to make them a dispenser! :biggrin.gif:

That's basically what I had in mind when I mentioned an Oni face.
Ahhh yes, I looked up a great picture for this on google images. I should be set for the dispenser now! :biggrin.gif:

I get great color variety in the trees that are naturally growing, but all the trees that I plant grow up green. Do you know why that is and how I can fix the problem?
Hmmmmm... That is quite interesting... I'm not sure!
I'll check in game for you though, head out exploring with a stack of saplings and some bone meal. Thanks for pointing this out! (most likely it's just a game glitch)

They do look quite good in some places! :biggrin.gif:

Looks great. I like the cherry blossom biomes, they look beautiful. (Curse went offline as I was editing the post) The only problem I have is the glass doesn't look that good. I understand what you were going for, but they just look like jail cell bars.
Yea, they are traditional, but unless you build with traditional in mind, they're probably going to feel a bit 'jail-y' :|
I don't really know how to solve this...

Ok. Nice update :biggrin.gif:. It was cool to come back from Pittsy and see it all the way up to 0.9. Great job :biggrin.gif:
I did come up with 2 ideas. :wink.gif:
1. Make a new fire that has a more oriental feel (how the hell one goes about doing that, I don't know). I do know that MCpatcher will implement a new fire, though.
2. Raccoons? I dunno if you put them in as alternates, but It'd be cool if you could make that happen. :biggrin.gif:
Other than those mate, (mate implemented for perfect Australian-ness?) This pack is my all time fav :biggrin.gif:
Hehehe, oriental fire xD
Certainly a difficult request! I also have NO idea as to how fire works so I would need to look into that before I made it :tongue.gif:
Raccoons are being planned to happen, but in the close future. I plan to make foxes first!
You would fit right in over here mate! :tongue.gif:

But that's what windows looked like in feudal Japan...
It would look better if they were closer together. This could be achieved more convincingly if the pack was slightly higher resolution. I edited the windows so the slats are closer together with only one open pixel in between, and I think they look better.
Yea, It would be a lot easier in a higher res...
The reason I made the gaps with 2 spaces, is merely because it tiles very well when windows are placed together. You can't tell where each window stops or starts. They basically look like one big window :tongue.gif:
However, I will have a look at it!
@everyone, sorry I've been a bit slow lately on the info, pictures and update details. I've been concentrating a bit more on my other pack (In my sig) because I felt it was below par!
I'm trying to get it more or less up to this pack's standard (even though they are completely different styles :tongue.gif:)
However, I have made more progress on the terrain. Almost everything is done now! I think I just have to complete the nether blocks (two of them :tongue.gif:) and I'm done! Well, I at least have a base to tweak things from... Which I WILL do.
So yea, hopefully will have some pictures up today or tomorrow showing you my progress!
EDIT: I actually still have to do snow, cacti, bedrock, tnt, jukebox, ore blocks, all things rail-y...
Pretty easy stuff apart from the tnt and cacti. Any ideas?

If you just use red and yellow without using any intermediate colors I think you could make a very nice custom fire design.
I'd have to say this is my second favorite pack of all time. The first being one of the Zelda texture packs. I have loved Zelda ever since I was 5 and I only really got into anime/manga until I was 15. As I said before though, I think this pack is coming out great and I can't wait to see it completed.

Ha! That's awesome! :biggrin.gif: I would try to make fire if I knew how to though, that's the problem. I have no idea how I'm supposed to do it, as in: where the texture for fire is, how the animation works, if it would even work in game, etc. I'm just totally clueless on the subject >.>
I understand EXACTLY how you feel about zelda! I bought a 3DS just to play Ocarina of Time again! June 16th! Can't wait! :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif:
Hi. I have a small question.
What are the floor and the roof of the house in first post made of?
I can't fint the proper material.
That is what yellow wool used to look like--it was supposed to be tatami mats but they didn't look very authentic so they were replaced with a combination of other wool tiles.

Yea, as Tooki said, the floor are tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny tatami mats squashed onto one block :tongue.gif:
The roof is an old version of cobble. It's possibly going to become cyan wool, or bricks (the one left over will become COBBLE-Y cobble if you know what I mean)

Apparently there isn't a place for custom fire. This post explains it.
Quote from kbub17 »
Hi, it's not in the codes, so what the other guy said is COMPLETE bullcrap, all you need is the MCpatcher mod, and a texture pack that has a Custom_Fire.png inside of it. You are free to make something like that if you want, it works just like the 16x16 blocks that are provided, so 16 pixels wide x 16x (x being however long the animation should be)
it's best to have long animations though, which is really hard to make... the good ones can be up to 1536 pixels long.
I wish you luck on this pursuit... my minecraft however, does have a custom fire... it's very cool :smile.gif:
So from what I understand, you basically need to create a strip that looks like this: ...(alot of fire later)...
for however long as you need and name it custom_fire.png
Basically, it should cycle through the entire strip and then it will repeat.
Off Topic: I would so get a 3DS, but I'm so poor, all my money is going toward my current college expenses so I'm stuck with my DSi until I get more money. I do have Ocarina of time on my N64 and Wii though, but I will probably get it on the 3DS just because the graphics are updated.
Ahhhh, that would make sense. That means that it's in the same format as animated water and lava, both of which I've done before!
I might try experimenting on it after school (my holidays ended yesterday)
I don't have classes in the afternoon though so i'll have plenty of time to work on it! That's also the reason I got the 3DS, it's gonna be amazing! (and it was my christmas present) :smile.gif:

Ok, I've made the GUI now, two different actually. One brown and one red. Brown GUI Red GUI
I haven't noised them, because I tried to at first but it didn't end up too good (noise:10, satuation:0, cover:100%). So I thought you can do the noise-ing (dunno if there is any verb for it). I know it will look better if you do it...
EDIT: I forgot... I put the sand texture as the menu background too, thought it looked nice. But if you don't want it, then just delete the background image in the zip file.
Haaaaa, awesome!!!
I'll have more of a look into it when I get home. Thanks a tonne anyway though!
I'll put your name into the credits for next release :smile.gif: (I still might tweak them a little though. My other pack just went through some major gui tweaks and it turned out AMAZINGLY well)

These look great, but they also make the interface really dark and the text really hard to read....still, a great start.

So I took a really quick look at this and I have to say I like it so far.
However since I started my own ancient Japan themed texture pack before knowing someone else was making one...I'm going to refrain from looking here. I'd like to keep our sets unique. Hopefully once mine's ready to put up for download we'll have two separate, unique, and equally lovely packs. :3

Yea, I'm tweaking it a bit before I put it in for the next update :smile.gif:
Glad you guys like the gui. Can't wait to see them finished and released!
I've done some tweaks on it, it's looking fabulous! I will post pics tomorrow because I'm going to bed now. School tomorrow >.>
I also finished cacti, tnt, made a fair few tweaks and finished the particles and icons! :biggrin.gif:
Alright guys, since the gui, the particles, the icons and a few more textures are done, I think I might make the update later this afternoon!
I'll have the terrain done for the next update (it's basically done now) and I might start on a couple of mobs. (Wolves and zombie first)
I had not realized just how far your skills have progressed until I compared the terrain sheets for Nagareru and your XSSheep pack. So I took the best textures from each, realigned the tatami and fusumi to correspond to the wools I use in my own pack, and made some minor tweaks. Here's some more postcards from home:
I love a rainy night!
My living area, with bath and dining table (the kitchen is behind me)
My sleeping quarters.
You manage to do in 16 pixels what most others can do in 32. You are worthy.
God damn it I love you Sheep. I haven't looked into this pack much but from what I have seen, you've worked your ass off and you respond to the community's acknoledgement appropriately as always. I'm liking the sand and wood in this pack, and I can tell that you're implementing factors from this pack in your original pack. I might mix some textures from this pack into your original, like the cherry blossoms; I love those.
Point to be taken: Take a ****in' break man. Anyone would need a vacation after doing as much work as you've done. It's good to follow the work of someone like yourself though. You seem to be dedicated to the desires of fellow MC ehthusiasts. Every now and then, just take break. Every update I see you make, it includes a dozen different variations of a thousand different concepts. I hear Hawaii is nice this time of year... every month of every year, Go!!
I have a feeling that months from now, I'll still be using textures from your packs, even if I do buy a computer that can run high definition textures.

I do feel the need to try out a higher res pack, but I don't really want the extra workload if you know what I mean. Keeping 2 simultaneous packs updated with the same amount of love and care is already quite a feat, having 3 is like suicide! I might just fiddle in private and create a COMPLETED pack before releasing it to the public. No deadlines=no stress! :biggrin.gif:

Funny thing, I actually went to Hawaii for my last vacation! Really nice place, just really touristy :tongue.gif:
I would like to go back though... The water was actually warm!
I am going to be taking a break though. I'm making a push to at least finish the terrain on this and then the 2 variants of my other pack, but after that I'll probably slow down a bit on the texture creating and actually spend time playing the actual game!
EDIT: forgot Puma! (sorry! Q.Q)

Bows low in respect for artistic talent.
PS: If you like cherry blossoms, check out Nandonalt's new Cherry Trees Mod, includes white blossom trees...
