After seeing the new Minecraft logo, I was inspired to modify it and create the following work. As a veteran pixel artist I couldn't resist refining the logo with the following variants, faithful to the tradition of pixel-by-pixel artistry, which I created over the last 2 days. You will find them in the upcoming release of my texture pack.
The R and A shapes were tweaked to increase letter clarity, but otherwise the basic outline is consistent with the original.
I encourage anyone who has created their own logo or edit to post their custom logo art here, so feel free to share or discuss!!!
I was just trying to make my own, then I realized that the texture for it is really MESSED up! Is there a secret to making a perfect logo with the split Mine
craft?
While it may not be completely intuitive, I don't believe there are any secrets to it. There are obviously some limitations. Essentially the logo is 274x44 in size, and 137 is the center point, so a smaller logo will need to be designed with the center in mind. When you finish your graphic, you just rectangle select each portion and copy the separate pieces according to their individual sizes, which are 155 and 119 wide respectively, and paste them like the original image shows, with a 1 pixel vertical space between each part.
Also, try to keep the logo the same size. Meaning, don't re-size it. Do what you want to the background, but if you re-size the logo larger or smaller, it gets too pixelated.

Could you explain what you mean by this statement? Pixelated how? Maybe a photo would help.

I think he means it becomes too grainy when viewed on a smaller resolution. I can't say I agree with him.
Awesome job btw
Nice color scheme.

I think I have an idea about what he means. It might be a nearest-neighbor scaling issue. If I have spare time I'll tinker around with it and see myself, though I'd be grateful if anyone else can document this further.
Thanks for the compliments! It usually takes another artist to appreciate details like color usage. :smile.gif:
BTW, I'll submit my texture pack for inclusion to your maintained list soon.
