Well, keep at it! Sorry if I came across harsh, I endorse anyone that wants to experiment. My suggestion would be to work on a pack a bit more before showing it though, keep that in mind if you ever make another pack. Also, try to distinguish yourself from everyone else. There are many simple packs, if it's just the same thing as everyone else it'll get looked over.
One thing that you may be able to do to distinguish your pack from other simple ones is to change the Ore blocks. Play around with a few different designs and post a few pictures and see what other people think of them. And then use the designs that are the most popular. Just a suggestion.

dont' draw the black border on both sides of the square - only draw the south and east borders, since adjacent squares will "draw" the other borders for you. You end up with a couple of odd corners sometimes, but the effect is there is less thickness
