I've tested the previous version of this pack with the 1.8 preview and I've added the food bar, venomous spiders, updated chests and fixed some other things. There are still quite a few glitches in the preview (endermen and spiders for some reason have a white translucent layer added to their skin, which means I haven't been able to test those in detail) and I'm not too happy with certain elements (mainly the glass panes, the melons and their stems) which I'll hopefully fix soon, but other than that everything looks quite nice, so I've decided to update the download link (but you can just click here).
Expect a new version update and a what will probably end up being quite a big changelog when 1.8 officially hits the webs.
I must say, the larger biomes do make this texture pack more attractive. I've been able to find a few places where it's spring for more than a few meters quite easily, something which was almost impossible to find in 1.7 (even though Spring replaced 2 distinct biomes, which should've been easily identifiable).
The Pokémon pack will probably end up taking a while longer to update, so expect that in a few days.
Enjoy!
EDIT: Oh yeah, and experience orbs are now P-bags, because I could.
The complete update for 1.8 is finally here. Not much has changed since the version I made based on the preview, but it's still worth downloading even if you've downloaded that one. Be sure to check the first post for the complete changelist.
I also managed to fix the Endermen, which previously didn't seem to work, by changing "Enderman.png" into "enderman.png". I blame Jeb.
If there are still any problems with anything, please tell me. I haven't been to test everything, so I might've missed something, but so far everything seems okay.
The Pokémon pack will probably take a few more days, so don't stay up for that one.
Hey i really love this texture pack it was the first one i had and ever used i was wondering if you are/going to update this for 1.0.0? Really nice texture pack keep up the good work and thank you for your time.
I'm currently in the process of updating it, the problem is my exams are fast approaching and the fact that december saw a lot of new games (including a Zelda game, although to be fair I did fully complete it in roughly a week). I still haven't done most of the villagers, and those tend to take quite a bit of work.
If I find the time I might try to make a working version this weekend, but I can't promise anything.
It's nice to know someone likes this texture pack enough to make a profile here for it, though, so I do feel motivated now!
Also, in case anyone is wondering; the Pokémon texture pack will take at least until February...
I forgot how much I had already done for the update before the actual release. I hadn't done the villagers, new mobs and brewing stand yet, which was why I was reluctant to update. I quickly did the brewing stand and mobs, copy-pasted the remaining villagers and added support for all the new stuff in the actual release. It took a few hours, but less than anticipated.
So here it is, version 1.10, finally!
I haven't had too much time to test things, so if there are still some flaws somewhere, feel free to point them out.
okay two things i want to address: the sheep looking gay, and the title screen
i already touched on the sheep, but also can u change the title screen to "oracle of minecraft" like the op? I think it would look better
but really, the overall pack is one of my faves
EDIT: OMG MY 100TH POST
Okay first of all, he hasn't done anything with this since December.
The sheep are designed after moblins, since there aren't any sheep in OoS.
And the only thing that can be changed on the title screen is the texture for the logo which can only take up the same amount of space as the default title. So he can't put the big ass logo on the title screen.
Apparently the updated forums somehow changed the notification system, which means I haven't been getting any e-mails whenever someone posts here. I'll hopefully sort that out later.
Anyhow, seeing as there's still some interest in my work here, I've decided to go ahead and make some of the final changes which were missing from the latest version. That version has now been made and the OP has been updated accordingly, so be sure to check that out for the relevant information and a download link.
I'd also like to point out that if there's been a new MC update and I haven't updated this thread yet, there's still a non-zero chance that I've updated the texture pack but not the OP, in which case clicking the download image might lead you to a newer version than the version history might lead you to believe. This is because I can just change the oracleofseasons.zip file in my dropbox folder without actually typing anything, which is perfect because I'm hopelessly lazy.
As for the title, yeah, I'm EXTREMELY limited here and it frustrates me greatly. I can't even fit the title image of the original game in there no matter how hard I try. I've had to make the current one from scratch, and while it's not perfect, at least Din's there dancing, that counts for something, right?
As for the sheep, they're a hybrid blend between moblins and ninjas, I don't really see how you would derive their sexual preference from that...
Anyhow, please enjoy, and if I missed something (which isn't impossible), feel free to tell me.
Cheers!
I've apparently uploaded a wrongly zipped version yesterday, which might have made it impossible for some people to actually use the pack, this has been fixed now.
As a minor update, I've also updated the player avatars ("Steve"), because on closer inspection they looked rather bearded, which made me realise that I didn't actually use a lot of shading on any of the other mobs. So yeah, the Links look a lot, let's say "cuter" now. I've also added a few new Links, like Link in a suit, Link with a beard, Link with a skull instead of a face, etc.
I've lost my old ways of checking out player mods in-game, so they may still not be perfect, but they looked decent enough from what I've seen.
Also, the download button was down, I'm not sure why, but it has now been replaced.
It probably wouldn't be too hard to support, but I'd need to have a look. If it somehow still uses the biome colours it might actually be harder to implement...
I'll hopefully have an update about this soon.
As a side note, I've finally added this pack to Planet Minecraft (Link), which at this point has roughly 5 times as many views as this thread, so I probably should've done that sooner. It also gives me some download statistics, which is always nice to know. But this thread will probably still be my main focus, mainly because it has an awesome-looking download button.
This is my current setup, with your texture pack included. It goes well with the LoZ super sound pack, too.
10/10, I love it. I've been missing Alex's texture pack but this is perfect! Great job.
I'm glad you enjoy the pack!
As someone with an immense collection of Zelda music (quick iTunes count: 1155 songs), I've been meaning to make a sound pack for this texture pack, I've started long ago but I've never finished. I might do that some day...
Anyway, if you make a vid which showcases the different seasons a bit more I might use it on my Planet Minecraft page.
Also, minor update (hooray!):
- I've finally fixed the bottom of the heads of most of the mobs (you probably didn't notice anyway, I sure didn't...)
- I've changed the chainmail armour to the Ball and Chain Trooper's armour
- I've changed the Skeletons and Ghasts to fill up the previously transparent parts. I quite like the skeletons now.
- And most importantly, I've added Subrosians!
I finally have a Subrosian design I'm happy with, so I went ahead and changed the Zombie Pigmen (which were Shadow Links before, awesome but not necessarily fitting). Now the Nether does feel a lot more like Subrosia, and although beating up Subrosians is rather sad (and pigs turning into Subrosians when struck by lighting rather weird), I do think this is a positive change and adds a bit of colour and whimsy to the otherwise dull Nether.
Can I ask your opinion on a Subrosian skin I made a couple of months ago?
Also, you still planning on doing that Sacred Stones TP?
If it's as a skin, you might want to separate the cap, but other than that it looks fine. I don't really like having 2 pixels between the eyes (which made previous subrosian attempts hard), but that might just be my own weird personal preference...
As a very minor point of criticism, subrosians have that black T-shaped shadow-thing on their backs as well.
I'm quite content with the one I have now, which looks pretty similar anyway.
And the Sacred Stones TP will probably take almost forever to finish, but I plan on working on it whenever I find the time. I barely have the time to keep this one up to date, and I'd probably focus on actually updating the Pokémon one first, but I'll see what I can do.
Curse you and your P-bags!!
Coming soon: Nintendo World Resource Pack

That's nice.
Need to remember to burn down that grave marker I made in my world.
