I present to you Arts & Craft! It's 64x64 remake of the default with an artful twist. For those of you minecrafters who like the original feel of minecraft then you'll love this. Please also note that this pack is still very new and I was rushing to get it out so if you find and problems feel free to tell me. Also criticism will be taken into legitimate consideration.
This pack due to it's convenience will always be updated within new Minecraft version releases.
Please reply with your opinions as it helps me get noticed and achieve notary success in this forum. Enjoy

This texture pack was inspired by Vattic the creator of the Faithful 32x32 pack. No longer using placeholders but I must say thanks for the inspiration and temporary reference
IMPORTANT!
Because this texture pack is higher then the regular 16x16 you have to use Xau's HD patcher in order to accommodate minecraft to run higher resolution texture packs. Don't try to run it with out this! Your game will crash if you don't properly patch the game! Heres the link http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232701-611-update173-compatible-mcpatcher-hd-fix-210-02/

Look at your signature. Now look at mine. Back to yours. NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But, if you played more Minecraft it could look like mine. Look down, back up. I'm on a server.
This texture pack is awesome. I laughed, I cried, 10/10 and 2 thumbs up. its similar to default, but fixes some of the uglier things about it and puts an artsy twist on it. Can't wait to see what kxucklez comes out with next

Wow, this texture pack is awesome. It feels like I'm playing one of those games like Oblivion and Amnesia. It has a very nice feel to it, i look forward to your future updates of this texture. Thank you for uploading it :biggrin.gif:
Nope. I wish it was that easy. Every single square had to be copy, pasted, resized, converted for quality, then be worked on for about 20min (sometimes more depending on the block) a piece applying my own hand along with photoshops excellent editing tools, then resized again, and converted once more for final quality cuts, followed by finally inserting it back it.
I used photoshops slur of tools. Also resizing each single square to 512x512, and customizing them one by one further altering using things such as watercolor, recoloring techniques and utilizing paint.net side by side with photoshop, applying the entire basis of the programs artistic modification.
Also note that this texture pack is 100% complete and involved creating custom lava, water and portal not only using oil paint but a large variety of tone fixtures and eloquent applications to achieve a desired effect. In addition the mobs themselves followed the same tactics but under a different school of editing. Furthermore every part of the texture pack had its base of design. If you look at my GUI that's a different art style from the terrain.png itself, so on terms with the tools I used; the texture pack has a variety of stylistic approaches to achieve that of which I'm proud to call Arts & Craft.
This was supposed to be an artfully looking texture pack but with a classic feel. Asking me if I used oil paint is like asking my if my house is made out of stone. The analogy I'm going for? That it played a small part but combined with the workmanship and the extensive line up of other tools and editing methods it adds up to a great product of discerning aesthetic quality.

Lol such a simple question with a huge answer. But you did do a great job of staying near the default texture pack, but making it so much better.

I just did it in Gimp in about 30 seconds, and it looks the same, but 32x. Why would you do all that for a filter effect?
Well thats not the final cut. That being the terrain.png, because I just work on it as I go. Also if you were to use any type of effect all in 1 go then it would blend and mesh the crucial borderlines to all the blocks therefore giving it a sloppy look.
Additionally it wouldn't tile properly. It would be inconsistent hence the reason for doing it 1by 1.

Looks as though you simply just edited the originals in some sort of image editor by a simple "Painted" overlay sort of thing... Still looks nice I suppose.
Yeah I took the original. But I can tell you it wasn't 1 overlay. I had to edit each block itself 1 by 1 in order to keep the quality and make sure it tiled correctly. Also the original is 16x16 and this is 64x64.
I used the original because its minecraft and thats the way its supposed to look. For those who like the original minecraft feel, that was my audience. If you like to make minecraft look completely different then thats your cup of tea and you may enjoy it.
Initially this was a personal project but I liked it so much that I decided to share it.
Even though similar looks can be achieved using shortcuts I didn't take them. I worked on each block as if it was a texture pack of its own; constantly testing in game to see if the look fit.
Its like being rich. You either earn it over time or win the lottery. By taking my time I learned much more in the end even though things reach the same conclusion either route. =)
