I decided to improve the default textures in minecraft. I don't expect this texture pack to be popular, it was more of a personal improvement.
This is items.png.
The only things I've modified are all the swords, besides the golden sword because I ran out of ideas. The Diamond and Iron "swords" are taken from a custom Painterly Pack, then recolored to the default texture pack.
This is the terrain.png.
The only thing I've modified in the terrain.png is the glass. The breaking pattern is taken from the same custom Painterly Pack.
If there is anything you'd like me to improve/change/modify from what I've changed or from the defaults, let me know.
This is exactly the same as what I just did except I changed a fair few textures (very slightly) fixed glass and some tiling issues, added better animated lava and water :biggrin.gif:
Doubt i'm gonna release my pack though
Thanks for the constructive criticism. If you like I can change the Iron "sword" to my own thing. I'm keeping the Diamond "sword," it's my favorite.
