First of all, I want to give thanks and credit to Asura23, upon whose skins these retextures are based.
I loved the skins, especially the fur texture, but the eyes were set too low and too far apart, so they appeared where the cheeks would be. And while the angry wolf had a fierce appearance with its red eyes, the mouth was closed.
I wanted to move the eyes to the proper position, as well as add bared fangs to the angry wolf. I prefer a collar instead of the "kerchief" that most 64x wolf skins are using, so I replaced that as well.
This is my first attempt at such modifications, and I hope some of you will find them useful and enjoy them in your games!

I welcome any comments - and if you have more image manipulation talent than I do, I hope this inspires you to make some more 64x wolf skins for the community! There's such a wonderful variety for 16x and even 32x users, those of us who love 64x should have more choices as well. Enjoy!

Hehe, thanks - I've had some good guidance from you and some other folks.
I'm still no artist - I've just moved beyond simple "cut and paste" to "add small amount of radial or gaussian blur around edges". :smile.gif:
I'm still a long way from creating textures from scratch, but getting better all the time. If not for Asura23's great skins as a base, all I'd have are just eyes and a collar.
I used to do texture modding for Battlefield 1942 years ago - in fact, I was basically the "Xau-equivalent" for players of the Desert Combat mod. I figured out how to unlock the ability to customize DC textures, re-did the Bulge map to look like summer terrain, and then joined the Experience WWII mod team as a map texture artist. We made Stalingrad look like the winter map it should be. Those were good times, but I've forgotten much of what I learned and I'm trying to bring my old Photoshop experience over to Paint.net and see what I remember.
Anyhow, thanks for the compliment and I hope you enjoy using the skins!

Some 64x users have mentioned that the particles.png in their texture pack does not include the wolf-related hearts and water droplets. I've set out to rectify this.
The heart is a resize of Sanguine's 128 textureand the water droplets are from the Meine-Kraft texture packs. I recommend both texture authors if you want quality HD textures for your game. I include this file here only for the convenience of those whose packs are missing the needed icons.

I'd also like to recommend Scuttles' PhotoRealism Pack which has some really fantastic wolves. Way better than anything I could have done.
