I really want to try out 64x64 resolution texture packs. everytime i download the zip file, drag drop it into the texture pack folder, etc. I run minecraft and then it crashes or blacks out. IS there anyway i can fix this? I've considered 2 things:
1. My computer is a piece of crap and cannot run with 64x64 resolution texture packs
2. I am being a noob and doing something terribly wrong.
EDIT: i can use 32x32 packs completely fine, no problems.
Find the "LB Photorealism" Texture pack post. Theres a video in the first post that shows you how to fix that. I'm being too lazy to find it for you though, lol.

in case anyone else is having this problem like i am, this is the post with the video in it. Its near the bottom of the post before the changelog. I have yet to try this though.
To use HD TPs Minecraft must be modified. You need MCpatcher viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=46173. Run it, click texturepack box, browse and find the TP you downloaded and click patch. It should work, only 16x16 TPs can be put in the Minecraft TP folder and used in-game. Hope this helps.
