Ok so I, like many Minecrafters, just love Mis'a Realistic HD texture pack, but unfortunately once you start installing mods, things just start to look screwy. So, in order to rectify this, I have decided to start producing fixes for some of the mods out there!
The first mod I am going to attempt to make a texture match for is the Industrial Craft mod, located here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1032&t=199635. It is a fantastic mod that has loads of new stuff to advance your tech tree with. I have recently just started learning how everything works with it, and generated a random new world to see how the ore placement worked, and I was annoyed at what I saw. So i have begun work on updating the textures for this mod to better match Misa's Pack! All of the main textures, such as Stone, are credited to Misa!!
[*:2ksyazo4]Open minecraft.jar with 7zip or equivalent program
[*:2ksyazo4]Unzip texture folder or open with 7zip
[*:2ksyazo4]Go to the IndustrialSprites Folder in both the minecraft.jar and the texture folder
[*:2ksyazo4]Drag all files from the texture folder into the IndustrialSprites folder located in minecraft.jar
[*:2ksyazo4]Close and Enjoy
THIS IS STILL WIP. NEW PARTS WILL BE RELEASED AS I HAVE TIME TO WORK ON THEM
As of now, I need help with a few things, as I have never made any kinds of textures before, so I am winging this. The big issue I will be needing help to solve will most definitely be the creation of armor. There is plenty of armor in this mod that can have updated textures, but I am unsure how to go about it. If you would like to help, please PM me!! If you have any art that you would like to have considered for being used as any texture, please PM me and I will take a look.
NOTE: Version 1 of these textures will most likely not be the final textures for most of the items in the mod. It is simply a quick fix to give everything an HD appearance. More time will be taken in the design of each block once every block has some kind of an HD texture!
Pictures!!!
Ore Blocks
All Ingots and their respective dusts
Furnaces, Crystal Charger, ITNT, and Canner!
Batteries, Circuits, Canned Food, Rubber, and Crystals!
Looks pretty good. I use both Misa's and Industrial Craft, and getting a complete 64x Texture Pack would be awesome. Hopefully you can get some more support going and get all the items represented.
The first part of the textures are ready to be downloaded. You no longer need to look at strangely colored blocks while you mine, and now all the ingots have the same shape, as well as the dusts.
The next update should be getting released sometime this weekend, and it will include some more items and a few new blocks. Not sure how many yet, as I do not want to include some and leave the blocks half with an HD texture and half with the old texture.
EDIT: The update was pushed back due to unforeseen circumstances. That said, it will hopefully be up by Wednesday at the very latest
Wow! This is exactly what I have been looking for. I was just considering doing the textures myself but thought to search Google to see if someone else already had.
The latest version of the pack is now up. his one includes generators, cables, and the Macerator, which are very commonly used. I also did the Bronze tools up quickly. Enjoy!
Very cool. This combines my two favorite mods into one easy to look at package.
{EDIT} As much as I appreciate this addendum to Misa's, I think the cable would look better if it were styled more like a thick black heavy duty cable. The outlets on the faces kind of make it less industry-ish.
Good looking texture... subpack? modpack? Whatever. Clear shapes, good colors, imaginative rethinking of the original mod textures. A winner. I just switched from ScribbleCraft to Soartex & its IC modpack, but this makes me want to switch again.
I got here from your IC tutorial part 1 on YouTube, which is also a winner. I like your presentation props, it's obvious you went to a lot of work to set up those shelves and the pathway. And I think I like the way you are describing more how to build these machines than how and where to place them. Both steps need to be described, but the other tutorial I watched mixed it all together too much. As does the IC firstpost, now that I think of it.
I do have a bit of a feeling that you jumped into building them too soon, though. Maybe a minute-long walkthrough of a basic generator, macerator, and E-furnace in action, talking about what they're doing and why. Just to whet the appetite. The details of EU flow can wait until they'll make more sense.
Anyway, good work. I'll keep an eye out for more of both.

Excellent Idea. I actually hadn't even thought of that. I will, at some point, post a preview/trailer for the mod at some point that shows off exactly how this stuff does work. Thanks for the idea!!

I agree with you on the cable, it does look pretty corny. If you have a good idea and can mock up an image of it, I would love to see what you have, and might even include it :smile.gif:
I have actually had no time at all to work on this lately, and I will be leaving for training very soon. I am looking to possibly pass this on to someone else soon

Thanks! Look for a new release sometime very soon!
I too was researching on how to do this on my own, but I'm not artistic in any way, at all.
Thank you so much for sharing!
If you need help working on this PM me. I have a lot of free time :smile.gif:

Because my unicorn likes it.

Curse PremiumBut I have to agree: Household receptacles aren't great, on our cables.
