I have the most recent version and it works fine for me.

Tell me, please, EXACTLY what you do. From download to gameplay. Please.

I really like this pack but i have a problem. Everytime I put it into my texture pack folder , i cant use it, it doesnt have anything and i think it is and older version for me, Im not sure

Excuse me, but if you read any posts at all, you'll learn that it's broken. Please.

those instructions I gave have worked for plenty of other people with this issue, and I have plenty of friends who use this pack, and all can run it fine. If you can't figure it out using the instructions above, I can't add anything more :/. but... please stop spamming regardless.
steps:
1: download pack
2: you will receive a file called arcane pack v1.8 (or something similar)
3: open this folder
4:compress the contents, but not the folder itself. meaning the subfolders and other files, but without compressing the main folder. name that new .zip you have appropriately.
5: drag that new .zip file into the texturepacks folder within your minecraft folder.

If it still doesn't work, I'm afraid I can't help, but it can't be a packaging issue because lots of people can use it, and I don't know about them, but I do the same thing I do for the johsmith pack, dokucraft, etc.

Got it to work!
Except, I do it like this:
Step 1: Download The file.
Step 2: UNZIP the file.(Sump, it is a zip at download)
Step 3: Configure any alternate textures (see "A")
Step 4: Place your Minecraft icon inside of the "Arcane Pack v1.8" folder.
Step 5: Make a shortcut or alias to your Minecraft game, because now it is in a folder, harder to access.
Step 6: Run Minecraft, switch to default texture, it will be the Arcane Pack! Voila!
*This method will make all textures have the Arcane Pack font.
A:
For alternate terrain.png, delete the default terrain.png, and rename alternateterrain.png to terrain.png. For alternate sun, delete sun.png, and rename sun 2.png, to sun.png.

hmmm good idea
i'll do that with the next update, which will be today hopefully, if I can get out a flowing water animation.

It was fun making a quite nice water flowing animation, only to discover it skipped every several seconds.. :/
I'll finish it for today's update however. next will be improved lava, and animations for it, followed by finished items.
edit: huzzah, got it working nicely. ok, lava time.

What the hell do you mean by folder? it's a .zip at download... there aren't any folders but the arcane pack folder and the mac osx folder INSIDE the .zip... and how do i compress a folder into a .zip? O_O ugh i haven't had any problems with doku's packs, johnsmith's packs, misa's packs or any other packs except this one... i might as well quit by now since your instructions aren't clear and precise... It's unfortunate because i would have supported it if i could have seen it in my game since it looks like a really nice pack. :/

compress the files within the arcane pack folder you mentioned, and name that what you want. drag this new .zip into your texture packs folder. It's that simple.

Firstly, Install MCPatcher.

This is how you compress a texture pack.
1. Download from front page.
2. Go to Downloads folder.
3. If Arcane Pack is a zip, double click on it to create a folder of it. If it is already a folder, skip this step.
4. Double click on the folder to open it.
5. Select the entire contents of the folder, right click on it and click "compress". It should create "Archive.zip" or some such thing.
6. Drag this into your texturepacks folder.

Use.

First of all, i used the patcher, stop thinking i'm a stupid child.... second of all, i did all those steps and it STILL didn't work....and thirdly, this problem doesn't occur with other texturepacks at all...also, if you were smart, you'd know that there isn't a compress button, it's send to... then compress folder into...also you can't compress the folder in the .zip while you're viewing it in winzip...

I have an idea for the next(or later) update:
Instead of cracking to break stuff, you could do it so it is a bar (like painterly) or like RPG slashes, so like as it gets closer to breaking, the slashes change color, like maybe from blue to red

I am thinking about the break animation, but if I do change it, It would be something that fits the magic theme, like dissipating in smoke or something.
