I don't support anything but the official releases. Sorry.
I haven't touched BTW in ages and don't plan on supporting it further. I have the textures on the customizer because I figured it might be useful for someone.
Ahh, too bad then. I imagine I can just revert it back to the default hemp texture, then
Okay, so it had been awhile since I worked on this and I can't remember all the changes but...
Added 1.3 blocks, items, and UIs. Note: If you you are using 1.2.5 and have the latest version of the HD Patcher, it should select the proper Creative UI. If not, replace allitems.png with allitemsx.png
New diamond, gold, iron, and lapis blocks.
Custom colors have been added for maps and sheep.
Redid, from scratch, the Connected Texture Mod textures. This is an improvement over the previous CTM support.
Tweaked the mushroom textures a bit. (Giant and small.)
Mooshrooms now have custom overlay and have had their colors tweaked.
I believe this is 1.3 ready. There are many things I would like to tweak and add such as animated glowstone, custom portal animations, revised villagers, random faces for pumpkins (and snow golems), etc.
I was playing around with the extended CTM features with the patcher to see if I could give pumpkins random faces. In the process I discovered something. So here are two proposals.
Pumpkins have random faces when placed (or naturally spawned) in the world.
Pumpkins will have no faces when placed (or naturally spawned) in the world.
Notes:
Both options will only work with the use of the patcher. If the patcher is not used, all pumpkins will have the current default face.
Pumpkins will have the default face when in the player's inventory or on the player's head.
On one hand, no faces would suit the pack's tone better, I think.
On the other hand, I have gotten used to pumpkins coming with faces, I enjoy making cactus people, and it would be more fun to have a bunch of different faces.
It looks like something shipwrecked Sailor would when he found land, IMO anyway.
Some Ideas Though:
It would be nice to have it in Light/Dark/High variations, it's very pastel-like right now and feels too...sad.
I would also like to see custom paintings of things, like boats, and message-in-a-bottles.
REMEMBER, these are just suggestions.
One last question, What is the texture pack actually supposed to be based off of? (I thought it was supposed to be a shipwrecked sailor.)
Also, this texture pack + Mellohi music disc = unbeatable.
Thanks for the feedback. Are you using the beta packs or the one from the OP?
I've got ideas for some theme (or season) variations that would add some diversity. I'm not sure if or when I'll have the time to do this. Creating separate themes sounds like it would be fun. Maintaining separate themes sounds like a PITA.
Custom paintings would be awesome and something I'd like to do at some point. I just need to find 30ish hours that I can dedicate to the process.
The story behind the pack is a shipwrecked sailor, yes. Isabella is the love he left behind.
I find really intersing the Idea of random faces on the pumpkins... I would be even better if you could add them to the snow golems! Also, I thought I was the only one who make Cactus people... They have way more personality that the normal npc's
Snow Golems will be getting random faces regardless. It's a separate function in the new patcher version. And since I'll be making the faces for them, it shouldn't be too hard to add them onto the pumpkins later.
I always thought of the cactus people as Minecraft's version of Wilson from Castaway. It kinda works with the Isabella's story.
@Conker
I really like the idea. The actual image needed some polishing so I recreated it. I'm currently trying to decide what I should do about the background.
@Gigfran
That could work. You can set the likelihood of a random texture, so all I would need to do is make a blank face and make it the most common possibility. The randomness seems to be tied to x, y, z coordinates of the block, though. It might get frustrating to place a pumpkin down in a specific location, expecting a blank, only to get a face. And then not be able to get rid of the face except by moving the pumpkin. But then again, maybe that wouldn't be so bad.

Same, I have sort of gotten used to having all pumpkins come with faces. That way you can use them for scarecrows (or, as you mentioned, cactus people.) Then again, I suppose you could still use a Jack-o-lantern for that purpose, if you don't mind your new friend's head glowing. Overall though, I'd say that an all-or-nothing approach would be favorable... either all placed pumpkins have faces, or all placed pumpkins are faceless. Sure, the possibility of one pumpkin among however many having a pre-carved face might seem spooky and fun at first, but the same was thought of the Endermen's block-moving abilities... once you get used to the fact that it happens sometimes, it ceases to be spooky or interesting and instead becomes a small hassle that you find yourself having to work around.
(Oh, and if it's not already decided, might I suggest giving snow golems the old Jack-o-lantern face with the teeth and glowing eyes, from the customizer? I rather liked that face, and it does seem to suit an animated golem a bit better than it did an ordinary Jack-o-lantern.)
I made 5 new pumpkin faces (plus the original for a total of 6) plus their jack-o-lantern equivalents. I took 4 of those faces and made variations to use for the snow golems (these have the teeth and glowing eyes like the original jack-o-lantern texture.)
I could replace 1 of the 6 with a blank texture. Then set it so that the blank texture appears 90% of the time and the other 5 textures 2% of the time each. But I'm not sure how well that would read since they aren't all that different from the original.
I love everything so far in the beta. Keep going.
Maybe ore blocks could be more unique?
Iron block is fine.
Maybe gold block could be stacks of gold ingots tied up?
Diamond block could be faceted (sp?)
Ditto for Emerald block.
Not sure for Lapis block.
I'm pretty happy with the ore blocks right now.
These are not bad ideas, though. And since I've discovered the power of CTM (allowing me to have different top and bottom textures) I might revisit them in the future.
I also think the new emerald ore block is my favourite vanilla texture now.
I love the BETA so far but there are two things that lag me... The snow golems and the title screen... And I already (kinda) fixed the title screen but the snow golems are a little problem because my world is full of 'em... :/ can you tell me how to fix it, Bonemouse?
I didn't change the original snowmen, I just added overlays to their heads. You should only see them if you have randomobs enabled.
So you could disable randomobs OR you could go into the mob folder and delete the snowmen_overlay#.png files.
Did the the title screen lag you out before too? Or just with the latest beta?
