I really liked the new beta pack, since my surgery i'am kinda blind, but the brightness allows me to see it, but if you are gonna change the brightness is ok but if the pine tree leaves are mismatching with the new ones, but I really loved this new beta, thanks Bonemouse.
You can change it by selecting the default version of the "glint" in the customiser. Alternatively, go into your Isabella zip-archive and remove the glint.png there (you might have to search a bit).
Specific instructions to do this:
1. Open the texture pack .zip file.
2. Go to the "misc" folder and locate "glint.png"
3. Delete "glint.png"
Mixed feelings here. On the one hand, these are nice textures and they blend very well - and it makes sense that stone slabs look similar to stone bricks (as they have similar crafting recipes).
On the other hand, it might ruin existing buildings and limits building options - having a "brighter" stone block (i.e. double stone slabs) was a nice way to bring some variety into the greyness of stone/cobble buildings.
Of course, Isabella is about low-contrast, so I suppose it fits not to have a very bright stone slab... but I'm still not quite sure what to think about the change.
Fair enough. I totally get what you're talking about. I can easily go back to a higher contrast/lighter stone in the future, if need be. (I feel like it is important to match the sort of rounded stone brick shapes, so they won't be exactly like the old version.)
When I get around to doing themes, one of them will absolutely have a lighter version.
New stone colour and new stone slab texture (mixed with stone bricks.)
I really like how the slabs and bricks now match. Very nice.
I also want to share a castle I built while using this texture pack. It was with the 12w15a snapshot though so the water and sky did not have their proper colors (stupid McPatcher).

Eh, I'm a fan of the new glowstone texture - but then, I'm a fan of having "natural" glowstone to build caves with - and this one looks very, very nice (better than the one we had in the customiser before). The hint of border allows you to use it as lamp-like block, too, in some cases.
And since I do dig the old glowstone texture, I hope it replaces the redstone lamp texture (not a fan of the thick, bulky borders).
I love this texture pack, it turns the eyeburningly bright default textures into something much more desaturated and kinder to the eyes, more solemn, dark and fitting to the very unforgiving world of minecraft. The only thing i changed was to include the white powder in a bowl version of the bone meal rather than the canned version, I'm not much a fan of skulls. All in all great texture pack, I haven't found an equal.
In terms of colour I think the plank blocks stand out very well. Most distinguishing of all was the jungle wood planks because of the different appearance - obviously, herp derp. But since that's the case, it might be worth doing the same for (some of) the others too. One of them could be stacked vertically; which would also make some interesting patterns possible.
I don't mind that the stone slabs are now low contrast to stone; to me its most important feature is the grid appearance.
And I do like new glowstone very much and hope the old one takes over as the lamp.
Again...
Looks like everyone doesn't like the "lamp glowstone" in my opinion, the new one looks like a very shiny wool... "Glowool"?

Very nice. Oh, and I just saw the change in crops. Good job on that. My farm is underground so I've sometimes harvested crops that were not ready.
(Ignore the grass colour.)

Yah. That was more for other people's benefit since I get asked about it fairly often.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
It's still beta, so nothing is set in stone... or should I say 'nothing is set in glowstone.
eh? eh? That was comedy gold right there!
I guess I will have to...
I see themes as being two parts.
First is the landscape colours, which will roughly be:
Earth - Summer (this is what the beta will become)
Air - Spring
Fire - Fall
Water - Winter
The second will be the architecture or manufactured blocks.
Earth - More natural.
Air - More ornate.
Fire - More industrial/steampunk.
Water - Blend between natural/ornate.
But the skin for all the versions is going to be Stephen? maybe there will be changes on his clothes?
It could be four versions of Stephen or four different skins (one of them being Stephen.)
Also, what about "Isabella: Thunderstorm" (or lightning)? for the most eerie Isabella feeling...
Again...
