Is it possible to use OptiFine instead of the patcher.
Yes, but unless you also use Patcher's custom colors and randomobs, you will miss out. Despite its claims, optifine does not fully support these features.
Yes. I don't think Optifine supports custom colors, though, which means that swamps will be purple. But I'm pretty sure there is an option to turn the swamp overlay off, which should fix it.
I just had to post and say that I've always been on the lookout for a texture pack that I actually like. Try as I may, this very rarely happens. Frenden's was the last that I stuck with. Now that it's dreadfully out of date (officially), I've been bouncing around various packs, but none really keep me hooked. This one, however, has really got my attention. I think I'm finally done searching. I absolutely love this pack.
Felt compelled to share this here. The guy hooks up his lighting so that it flickers and I figured that this is pretty much exactly in the spirit of the Isabella texture pack. Rewind a little to see how he does it but anyways, this is what I'm gonna be doing from now on =P
I love Etho's Lab! Other then working on Isabella, watching his LP consists of the majority of my Minecraft time these days. Though, I'm getting more and more tempted to load up a fresh world to play.
I'm working on 1.2v2 which will add compatibility for 1.2.4. I'm stuck on the new sandstone blocks. The original textures I had done for them were done with the assumption that the tops wouldn't be the same as the regular sandstone. It's a little wrench in the plan. Depending on timing, I also wanted to update the custom colors support for the pack (have to wait for the patcher to be updated) and some more mob variances for the blaze, silverfish, and iron golems.
You deserve more attention as a texture designer. I find this pack the only one i use and it's amazing. I personally don't mind the darkness of it all. I can't express enough how amazing this pack is, and how inspiring it is to me. I have begun making my own, and use yours as an inspiration in the long process of it all, which im yet to come, only having a few block textures done. Seriously though, thank you <3 ~Brian
