@mrisump
Maintaining the gloomyness is important to me. I'd rather have it be gloomy and too dark for people then not. But hopefully I can find a nice balance.
As for different options, I don't have the technical skills to do what Painterly does. I am building a decent collection of alt textures that are in the unused spaces, so if I'm inspired I'll see what I can do about the furnace. No promises, though, I'm afraid.
@Wave01
I'm okay with 32x32 but anything higher starts to look weird to me (which is mostly because it's what I'm used to.) 16x16 has the benefit of being natively supported and I enjoy the challenge of working on such a small canvas.
Beautiful Pack, never have I seen such a beautiful marriage of Minecraft functionality and individual style. You most certainly fused the minecraft universe with your art.
It would be an insult if I were to ask you to make a skin for me. But I must anyway for I am in love with your texture style and simplicity.
I truly thought it was a higher resolution at least 32x. Anyway love it hope you continue the pack when 1.5 Beta comes out most likely this week. (Yes Notch said that on his personal blog located at: http://notch.tumblr.com/
I uploaded some custom water in the OP. Basically it was a colour test and because water animations are so time consuming, I decided to upload it until I can do one from scratch. Credits go to Coterie and Painterly for the textures.
@technotronic
Thanks. I really wanted contrast between the regular gloom and the bright snow. And now with weather coming, snow biomes will be much more appealing to build in.
@TheMinecraftGuy
Thank you.
@jdwarfer
I must admit I'm having a lot of trouble with this issue. I'd rather focus my attention on custom grass because that's how this pack is 'intended' to be used. I'm still interested in seeing your edits, btw. No pressure, though. And always appreciate the feedback.
@Andross12 and @SparX114
Thanks!
@Jedyst
Thanks. I'm probably too busy to take skin requests at this time. I have a huge laundry list of things I still need to do for this pack. In the future, however, I'd like to include some alternate default character skins, so if the concept fits and I can include in this pack... maybe.
@LucenteEstreno
Jeb has been kind enough to tweet what the new 1.5 textures are and where they go on the grid. Birch and saplings, as well as booster tracks (on and off) and the detector track are done. Notch blogged today that 1.5 won't be hitting this week, though.

like the water graphics but... maybe you should make it a moving graphic and add an underwater overlay (for help on that download a custom Painterly Pack with the water graphics and the underwater overlay)
Incredible pack, the whole thing's filled with good design choices. I love what you've done to the UI/Title Screen, the large cobblestone blocks help to make large structures less visually noisy, and I've always thought the dark, desaturated look fit Minecraft perfectly.
But my absolute favorite part is that biome gradient. It's incredible. I've turned off biome gradients for every pack I've ever used because I thought that the smooth changing of colors over blocks didn't work with the pixelly nature of Minecraft. This rides it perfectly.
LOOK AT THAT ****
I do have a few bits of feedback too, if you're soliciting it. The Lightstone looks great when used as lighting for a building, I think that when encountered in the nether it looks a bit too... I want to say "man-made."
I think there's a few ways you could go with this, should you decide to look at Lightstone again:
1) You could try to find a middle-ground between smooth enough to use inside and rough enough to look natural. This is pretty tough to pull off, but I think that your pack might actually be able to do it. Your natural stone texture is "softer" (in terms of visual noise) looking than a lot of people's cloth.
2) You could just make two textures and include one as an alternate.
In addition, the sheep bug the hell out of me.
I know I'm supposed to be seeing this:
But all I can see is this:
I do love the shagginess by the way. It's adorable.
All in all an incredible pack, and if I'm reading your first post correctly I'm to understand you worked on Quandary as well? That was my preferred pack before this one. You're two for two, man.
The Biome/Environmental Update
Monkeys
Hedgehogs
Water temperatures
I hope so!

Agreed. And thankyou.
I also love how bright the snow is :biggrin.gif:
I think I used custom grass. But it's not only about grass. Every textures are dark anyway :smile.gif:
I have set up a directory for all my .schematic files for the public to use. Check it out sometime!

The others require editing the game files. Which isn't hard, but a little tricky for beginners.

This made me LOL.
Great feeback! I'll see what I can do about the lightstone and the demon sheep (still LOLing)
To clarify 99% of Quandary was done by ExtraNoise. All I did was the mobs which are the same ones (mostly) in this pack.
