i don't know if you saw yet, but the new 1.8 update brings new particles and new drops from zombies! i wonder what you'll come up with for the new animations ETC..
@Gigfran_Enfys
Looks cool so far! People are more then welcome to use and edit my textures for their projects. Links back here are appreciated, of course. And keep in mind I didn't make the items and the armor that's in the default pack linked here.
@jdwarfer
You're welcome. Thanks for the input. And the correction!
@Loosedgrunt
The customizer has some options for brighter textures (grass, foliage, wood planks) but beyond that, no, sorry. Make a brighter, more colourful version would involve extensive work and I'm having enough trouble keeping up at this point.
@cocoavalley
Thanks for the awesome mod. Been enjoying playing with it! I'm just about to set up my farm, but I've had a puppy since I started my current world which we call Baby Dog. He likes to poop on my bed (thanks to BTW.)
@Metronix
Oops. "btwmodtex" Sorry.
@MAXdinoman
I did and... Well, I'm excited. I also weep because they are a lot of new textures that need to be done AND I'll be hard pressed to finish the items before it hits next week.
@HeeroZero
Thanks.
I added a new cobblestone texture and a new mossy cobblestone texture to the customizer. Since we may be getting stone bricks as a craftable item in the update, I figured I should make a less bricky version of cobblestone.
Wow! That new cobble is fantastic! I think that's exactly what Sheep requested, as well! Really, that really looks amazing, good job on that one! :smile.gif:

Other new stuff:
Revised Flint Icon
Added Paper Icon
Added String Icon
Added Book Icon
Revised Gold and Iron Ingots
Added Saddle Icon
Recoloured the Saddle to better match Isabella
Added new Web texture
Added Cookie Icon
Added Apple and Golden Apple Icons
Added Bread Icon
Added Map Icon
Revised Flint N Steel Icon to match revisions
For those keeping track at home... It looks like I actually might be able to finish v4 before 1.8 hits.
I'm now only missing:
Axes
Shovels
Hoes
Pickaxes
Bow
Quiver
Fishing Rods
Buckets
Compass
Watch
Plus I'll need to go through and polish all the items up so they are consistent in colour and contrast.
Finally !! A texture pack where sand looks like sand, and not a peice of sponge. Same with cactus. God job :smile.gif: :smile.gif: :smile.gif: :smile.gif:
This pack is getting better and better. Thanks :smile.gif:
I'm wondering... could you make a bloody alternate texture for the zombie and pig zombie ?
They look too "clean" for corpses IMO.
Just a few blood spots, something like that.
Edit:
The map icon is not contrasted enough IMO. A little brighter blue and green might be better.
Flint
The flint looks.. Like flint. It's odd to think that flint actually looks like flint, for once, in Minecraft.
Suggestions: A Large Alt, and a Shiny Alt
Paper
It's nice and simple! You hit it good with the paper.
Suggestions: A lighter alt, an alt with text scribbles
String
One of the icons in the lot that I'm not particularly stoked about. It looks okay and all, but it's sort of lacking a.. "Psht!". It looks sort of too dull, can't put my finger on it
Suggestions: ---
Book
This is amazing; just the way it are is.
Suggestions: You could possibly add a small decoration on the front of the book.
Ingots
They all look very dull. I had to make a CTRL+F to find them, because they didn't stand out at all. The clay is fine, since it's a matte object, but the gold and iron may need work.
Suggestions: Give the gold and iron some shine to it.
Saddle
This looks good, not much to say.
Suggestions: You could make the left part of it slightly darker, give it some more perspective.
Webs
Nice to see a variation from the simple spider. Could use a web that stacks in a pattern (the current is focused a lot on the middle), though.
Suggestions: Make the web more evenly placed all over the texture.
Cookie It's so tiny..
Suggestions: Make a bigger alt. Cookie!
Apples
They look very square, even though they have some rounded edges. Looks odd.
Suggestions: Make it more rounded, a more shiny apple alt as well.
Bread
Ah, this one looks good! I'd actually say that to me, it looks the exact right way for this pack, but...
Suggestions: Adding a higher-contrast version might be requested by some.
Map
This looks good, can't complain about this one.
Suggestions: ---
Flint & Steel
I honestly don't see how that's usable in the real world. To me, it looks like an ingot and some flint mashed together. It'd take ages to start a fire with that.
Suggestions: Sharpening up the iron part, and glossing up the flint, might work in your favor.
Sorry that I was sort of harsh this time around. Don't get me wrong, they're all good textures (well, not the F&S, sorry); I'm simply pointing out a few hips and haps.
Keep up the good work! :smile.gif:
P.S. I'm currently down with the sickness, so my responds may seem odd, and I may simply not respond for a while.

Ingots: The ingots are vexing me. I can't seem to make them look right. Well, I'm more okay with the iron bar, but the gold looks like butter to me. (This is why I put off doing the items for so long.)
String: I like the string. To me it looks has a nice visual blend of spider silk and actual string.
Flint N Steel: I'm obviously a city boy. I never understood why the steel was that C shape until I googled it (just now.) I had always assumed you struck the flint against the steel... I think the sprite works enough for now. But I'll definitely want to revise that at some point.
New
Revised Map Icon to be more visible.
Improved spriting of Bread Icon
Added Bucket Icons
Added Compass
Made less shiny variants of the new Cobblestone and Mossy Cobblestone
Added a Stone Column texture as an alternative to the Sponge.
Missing
Axes
Shovels
Hoes
Pickaxes
Bow
Quiver
Fishing Rods
Watch
EDIT AGAIN
Added:
Bow and three bow and arrows variations (prep for the bow animation in 1.8)
Quiver
Arrows, the 3D items, not the icon
Iron Bars as a Glass alt (prep for 1.8)
Vince as a Glass alt (prep for 1.8)
I'm shooting for a weekend release of v4 (all the items done.) Then I'm taking a break. I need some rest before the 1.8 rush hits.
Map and Bread
I can honestly say that I can't see the changes.
Buckets
A more bucket-y bucket would be nice. One with a handle as well, also.
Compass
I can't really judge this as an icon, as it needs to be displayed in-game. Bugger.
Cobblestone
That layout of the cobble is just right. The jumbled look, that is. I think that any slight cosmetic changes would be fair (just don't make it pink). Same thing applies on the less sparkly cobble; looks good!
Sponge
I can't really see how this will come in handy for me, and I'd rather see these kind of fancy textures in the Wools category, since that's way easier to access.
Bows & Arrows
Everything you made, quiver included, looks good. The pointy part of the arrow looks very flinty, though. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just a thing to take into consideration.
Iron bar Glass
I can't say much for the iron bars; if they're supposed to be used as iron bars in-game, and not as something cosmetic, I would probably using some polish and make them look less like a gray line. They lack a tiny amount of variation in the colors, as it right now just looks like a gray line with some speckles on it for variation.
Vine Glass
/drool
Edit:
I just thought of something for the glass; make a version with vines hanging over parts of it, to give it a sort of spooky-jungle look. This would require CTM to look optimal.
- NOTES -
The _MODS folder in the .zip file contains some textures for 3rd party mods. This is for advanced users as no installation instructions will be provided.
Current Mods:
Obviously my plan for v4 to be out this weekend didn't pan out.
I've been working mostly to get the pack ready for 1.8. I've done the terrain file but need to finish the items and the endermen and silverfish (and maybe a blue spider?)

Did you see that picture ?
You might change your chest texture a little bit. :huh.gif:
@jdwarfer
I saw that. It should be too hard to adapt my chest to the new model. I can't do anything until I see the texture file for it.
@fozzywozzybear
I didn't read your suggestion as fussing. I've made the changes (it was simple to do) and it does look better. I haven't uploaded it yet, though.
@LielTheManOfManyComics
Thanks!
@Leostereo
A lot of time. I kind of wish I had kept track.
Any guesses as to what all the hunger meter icons mean?
I think jeb mentioned that blue spiders were just a recolour. Terrain.png looks good so far, and I much prefer your iron bars to the default.
Yah. But I'm not sure if that means that they made a new texture and recoloured it blue or if the applied a blue overlay in the game code.
The vanilla bars are quite cool but, yah, I like mine better.
ETA: I think the vines might need to be fixed, I didn't realize they'd be free-hanging when I did the texture. They are a little too gravity defying right now.
Looks good! But as you said yourself, the vines do look some what gravity defying..
Also, did you update the minecart detector, or have I simply not taken notice of it before?
A last note, irrelevant of the 1.8 pack: Could you make a slight change, as an alt, to the crops? I personally like high-visibility crops, as I'm lowsy at telling what state they're in, quickly. So, an ideal fix (for me), would be to simply color every crop but the last, green (the murky green it is now), instead of the finished yellow.
Keep up the good work! :smile.gif:
