So I finally can to the conclusion I could not make the old sand stone texture which I love and the new smooth sand stone texture which I also love co-exist peacefully. So I went back and re did all texture pertaining to sandstone and came up with quite a few variants.
What’s new?
Cocoa bean plants. There texture is still a WIP and subject to change.
Emerald ore, block of emerald, and emerald item. Including alternate textures for both ore and block of. The unused ruby texture also has a temporary place holder.
Endercheast. This texture is also subject to change.
Villager trading GUI.
Trip wire hook and string when placed on ground.
New files separating the alternate textures into groups for ease of use and customization.
What’s changed.
New textures for all 3 types of sandstone redone either completely or just a colour change so that they all blend together better. The ctm.png file has also been change to represent he default sandstone.
All new GUI’s every inventory screen has been redone to be nicer on the eyes and work better for placing things in the right spot. All of the old inventory screens are still available in the alternate textures folder. Also the creative screen has 3 different version one for snapshots 12w21a 12w21b and 12w22a.
The Redstone dust has changed colour to match the Redstone ore.
The way alternate texture are stored has been sorted into multiple .png files for ease of use. Some of the old one are still the way they were do too wanting to push this long overdue update out.
The string has had a recolour so that when placed on the ground it is less visible. This and the texture of on the ground are subject to change.
Removed the chest texture form terrain.png since it is no longer used in the game.
I had an idea to make one of these, then I saw this and decided to make a minish cap TP instead hehe
i could not care less if you made one i like seeing other ideas of how a pack based on this or other gameboy games would work. there used to be others like it one awakening and one oracle but i think I'm the only one still doing it.
Make the wooden planks look the same but different colors obviously.
but that's boring and the only one that different is the jungle and i think its more of a flooring texture.
and more so there is a alternate in the alternate texture files to make it look like the other ones.
scratch that! I'm making one after playing with this pack on! I have a few ways I could make mine different! hahahahahaha!

P.S.S whats the difference between adventure and basic?
adventure has different signs and maps for reading things easier and basic has less animated textures since some people don't like them
after seeing that my most recent pack has over 7000 downloads i think maybe i should learn to use this adfly thing

Why is the stone a recolour of sand? It's slightly strange especially since there's a good stone texture in the game, look at the sides scrolling tile sheet on spriters resource, just a thought
well there is a **** tone of exposed stone in the over world (at least when i first started making the pack.) and i had tried a lot of other textures but the were all to noisy, busy and looked bad at a distance. this texture is really nice and clean considering how abundant it is. if you were to provide me a link of the exact texture your thinking of i could tinker with it but i make no promises. especially with my second year of college right around the corner.

MOB SKINS
Spider texture: removed all existing variants of spiders. Restored the 3 original spider textures based of tektite, vernin, and water tektite, these spiders all have there in game color scheme but this also spawn in sand, snow, grass, and stone colour schemes which are all biome and height dependent but each biome and height will spawn there dependent and default variants.
Creeper texture: removed all colour variants excluding the 2 original skins based off the buzz blob and cuke man, then there random skins are the same as the spider, snow sand grass cave.
Wolf texture: removed all the bazar skin variants. There are now 3 different color variants. 3 normal ones and one snow one. The normal ones will spawn anywhere except snow areas and the snow one will spawn only in snow areas. Each colour variant has 3 collar variants the default one which has been expanded to be bigger. A bandanna cape like thing. And the default collar but with little boots. In 1.3 all of these are blue but in 1.4 snapshots and beyond they are dye able. Dye also slightly changes eye colour.
Enderman: texture. Added snow endermen variant.
Cave spider texture: added the 3 main variants in a modified color scheme.
Made slight tweaks to the alignment of item so most items are as closed to the center as possible.

also i have been messing around whit the lighting since i noticed that during the day time caves are unusually bright. i think i have found a nice one where its dark enough that you should use torches but if you run out you can still adventure kinda. also made torches even brighter and more yellow. but i probably wont do a update until i get biome dependent mobs working or i decide to change up some textures for 1.3 that is. maybe next snapshot update ill release a 1.3 update as well.
i will try to get a update out this week but. well college makes free time vanish.
EDIT: so turn out the program i sue for ripping the files out of the pocket edition no longer works thanks to ios6. so a update will hopefully come out this week since the pc one is pretty well ready to go. there will be a 1.3 and snapshot download. all that's left is to write the change log and see if any textures need tweaking.

planning on releasing a update this week. might be on the weekend at the latest. been doing a lot of little tweaks as well as textures i just downright forgot to include in the last one.
This must be the best texture pack I've ever seen. It was already godly for the nostalgia factor (Awakening DX was my first Zelda game, still love it), but then I saw the animated textures. Holy crap. I don't know how you managed to animate normally non-animated textures, but boy, do other packs need to watch and learn. I can't really explain why, but the animated textures make this 10,000 times better (and it was already beautiful anyways). Please continue to keep this up to date, because I can guarantee I'll be using it as my new default.

Certain music disk have had a colour scheme change to closer match that of the original discs but keeping within the predefined colour scheme of the texture pack.
The lighting file was once again change for hopefully the last time. Caves are now dark enough that torches are a required unlike the current version where you can easily see.
Re arranged the mod biome specific spawning sheet in a more logical order to ensure proper biome/ height spawning.
Tweaked silver fish skins
Removed some of the not very fitting ghast skins
Fixed a bug with the spider skins and bottom of head alignment
Slight recolour of snow and all snow related thing’s (mob skins ect)
Modified the pre-existing skeleton textures to be more natural and have ones that only appear in certain biomes. But all multiple variants will appear in all areas except the nether.

EDIT nope not worth it in my opinion.
Made the smooth sandstone blocks connect in a way that makes them really nice pillars using CTM.
Made the end portal frame connect on the sides for a continues effect.
Made the sand texture randomized so sea shells and wood planks can be found periodically in the sand.
sides of trees connect for nice looking tress.
Removed the crafting workspace in the creative survival inventory since it no longer functions.
Change one of the 1*2 paintings to be a modified version of the tablet in the southern face shrine.
Fixed a error on the bottle of enchanting which made a blck line go along the side,
also removed the shine effect so it looked better.
