Ok i know we all think (well most of us think) that you can only have one texture pack but thats not so!
simply go to your Users\YourUser\app support\minecraft then put the texture pack in the textures folder.
You know what sucks? You're wrong.
Mac users need to go to Library/Application support/Minecraft/Texture Packs.
Just download the .zip file in this folder, and it will show up in the "Mods and Texture Packs" GUI
Not completely sure, but I'd think you could go into minecraft, texture packs and mods>open texture pack folder>drag zip in. Then again, I don't have a mac.
The OP is actually right. previously it was only possible to have one pack installed because you had to drag it into the folder where minecraft.exe was.
issue is outdated since the official TP support though
