I know how to open and access the file and I know how to insert pictures of my own, but HOW or CAN I stop the pictures from becoming pixleated once I shrink it down to fit the layer?

BTW I normally use GIMP

I'm making a painting mod too, and I could be wrong but I don't think you can. Due to Minecraft's low resolution, it will always pixelate.
