First off, I know there are about 500 other "clean" packs out there. The thing is, they just aren't clean enough for me. They're either too bright, too bubbly, or too flat, and they lose the modular, earthy essence of MineCraft. Plus, they have those speckled ores that I just can't stand.
Taking inspiration from Tronic and Clean Lines, I came up with a pack that emphasizes the natural modular beauty of MineCraft. That said, Tronic's electric feel was a little over the top to me and the wavy lines of Clean Lines became dizzying after a while. Returning to the spirit of the cube, I conceived ButterPack, a texture pack that is easy on the eyes and looks great from any distance. Among its many features...
80% customized terrain.png
Wool has been smoothed, ores redrawn so they really pop, blocks that show their elemental composition (Fe, Au, C for iron blocks, gold, and diamond respectively), cobblestone with a sandstone-like texture so that cobblestone structures and bearable to look at, doors with larger viewing windows, and a reddit themed bed (thanks to a redditor whose thread I cannot find right now) that has been awkwardly copy-pasted in. 100% custom tools (non-gold)
Every non-gold tool has been redrawn from scratch to reflect the color scheme and smooth feel of this texture pack. Iron tools look smooth and dynamic, wood tools look as shabby as they really are, and diamond tools look like the veritable machines of uber-productivity and death that they are.
Diamondy diamond
The greenish hue of diamond that I dislike is gone, replaced by a lighter shade of blue that some may find more appealing.
Neat block breaking animation
We've seen little pies, loading bars, and shrinking squares- but have you seen a square that shrinks to form a loading bar that slowly fills up with an increasingly dark shade of green that even slightly highlights the block you have selected?! This is what the ButterPack delivers.
Never before seen GUI
A transparent "action bar" or whatever you want to call it, black windows (that's right, inventory, crafting, smelting- all black!) that will make you never want to go back, and smoother buttons allow for an experience that will leave your eyes sore and craving more.
Coming soon:
Mobs! (soon)
A complete redraw of items.png! (later)
Armor! (latest)
Notes
Some of this pack is copy and paste. My aim in creating the Buttery Smooth ButterPack was to combine the good parts of several of my favorite texture packs into one I was sure I would love. Whatever I couldn't find in exactly the right style I redrew, leading to a mostly custom texture pack. That said, parts of this are "borrowed" from others and whichever textures are not unique to this pack are not unique to this pack. They are the property of their original creators and rightful owners, and I include them because I love them.
Credits where credits are due:
Painterly Pack, which is the template for ButterPack (whatever isn't mine or default, was probably made by them)
Clean Lines by Orann, which is my inspiration and another foundation of the ButterPack
Tronic by evilmousestudios, which is another inspiration for the smoothness of this design
Redditor who drew the reddit bed- once I find your name I will fill this in.

Feedback is extremely appreciated; constructive criticism and specific fix requests will be very well received. This pack is currently the product of my own likes and dislikes; make it your own by telling me what you want!
I've already updated it, changed the GUI a bit, and smoothed out some other stuff. It's been rereleased as HyperCube, but you can make your own extension of it and release it again as whatever you want. I'm not too worried about who gets the credit.
