Hey all, as some of you well know, I am the creator of the semi-popular Romecraft. I decided long ago I wanted to make a pack less specific than Romecraft, but still very much themed. Over time (the last two days), I started developing this new pack for myself, and decided I may release it if it turns out well!
I deemed it: the OLYMPIC PACK.
So, since I already made a pack on Ancient Rome, you will automatically think: "OMG ANCIENT GREECE!!!11!111one" But I shall deny you that pleasure, and present you with this: The USS Olympia.
"Why the Olympia?" you may ask. Well, I have a specific liking for it, as that is the ship I have been working on for a few months now. The Olympia has a very distinct, U.S. industrial feel to it, as many machines have from the late 1800's: with tons of brass, paint, lead, and other fun elements. I decided to replicate some of these elements for a unique-ish texture pack (it ends up being slightly Steampunk, since the Olympia is a Steam-powered warship).
Anyway, enough talk. I discovered that if you mine Stone very carefully, you create steel plates .
Compared to something like this:
Bear in mind that ALL of the textures in that picture are works in progress. Trolls be damned.
That promises to be excellent! Love the steel plate and, as has been said already, the green metal texture...lights too! In fact there's nothing I can see there to say I might have done it a different way. Great work, StugAce and that ship is truly a beautiful thing to behold.
Incidentally, I've just spent the day researching into the ship my dad was stationed on during WW2, The HMS Maori which was sunk off the island of Malta in the mediterranean. Learned some things I never new he'd endured, but he would have loved that ship of yours. Not wishing to sound morbid though, he did survive the war and lived to see the first few seconds of the new Millenium in, before going to that great port in the sky. :smile.gif:

I was going to make wood Red, as with most of the wood on the Olympia, but I'm not sure how that'll work out.
