Is there any way to fix ugly water whilst using the default pack? I really hate it. :sad.gif:
If you want to change the water/lava using the default pack, then you'll need to create a zip file containing 4 files: "custom_water_still.png", "custom_water_flowing.png", "custom_lava_still.png", and "custom_lava_flowing.png".
You can grab water/lava textures from any texture pack and compress them to a single zip. Move that zip file to your 'texture packs' folder in .minecraft.
Run the patcher and select Custom Water/Lava Animation
When you're in-game, select your "texture pack" (which is only 4 image files to change your water/lava) and enjoy!
i tryed to install modloader, but then this thing showed up:

Restoring original minecraft.jar due to previous error
what can i do to fix that?
If you have already tried to install ModLoader using a fresh install of Minecraft, then I suggest the following:
Try emptying your browser and java cache. Remember to shut down all instances of your web browser after emptying the cache (temporary internet files).
If this does not work, it is possible that the version of Java that you're using is outdated or corrupt. In that case, you could try updating/reinstalling Java.
The test runs fine for me, but when I actually try to play in the browser, I just get a black screen. Any clues?
Clear browser cache and java cache and try again.
Have you tried other browsers? (Chrome, Firefox)
If it's still not working after trying the above, you could try disabling all 3rd party browser extentions. An add-on to your browser could be conflicting with the java applet.

The only mod I have installed is Single Player Commands, I hope I haven't done something wrong? I just want to use a neat texture pack ;_;
Edit: I forgot to mention WorldEdit as well, but that comes with SPC anyway. Just thought I'd add that anyway.

Have you tried using a fresh bin folder? (delete your bin folder in .minecraft then launch Minecraft.exe to re-download the bin folder automatically)

Wow, that's beautiful. Worked like a charm.
Would installing Single Player Commands now (after deleting the .bin/after patching) work? Do you know, or do I just have to try it out and see? (Sorry if I sound demanding, I'm just curious)

It should work now. Try it out and lemme know how it goes!
Whether there will be new patch versions? Or it not your problem connected with LB photo realism? White squares still are (
"Some people are getting white boxes in place of tools, both in the inventory screen and held in hand. I have not been able to reproduce this myself nor determine the cause, but it may be hardware or driver related. If you are seeing this, please post your system specs so I can see if they have anything in common."
The problem is likely specific to your computer, or files on your computer.
Not sure if the patcher is the problem with this, but I can't figure what else it could be. When using the fishing rod, it appears in hand no problem until you cast a line, then the rod disappears. Works fine while the patch is installed using a 16x16 pack, but a 32x32 pack, the rod doesn't show. I didn't test a higher res pack.
After more testing, I see that even before installing the patch, the rod doesn't show while the line is cast when using a 32x pack. Strange.

Okay so I just downloaded the newest ModLoader version and the new MCPATCHER fix. When I try to add ModLoader to the Patcher, Minecraft crashes. This also happens with older versions of ModLoader. Can anyone help with that?

Delete the bin folder in .minecraft and run minecraft.exe to allow the game to re-create that folder automatically. Once it has done that, close minecraft and run the MCPatcher. When patched, launch Minecraft and go fishing to see if you're still having that problem.
And remember, when all else fails... just reinstall.
Cleared both caches - same result. Does this in Chrome, FFox and IE.
It shows the 'Updating Minecraft' screen and then crashes with a black screen where the Mojang logo would normally appear.
You can't use the MCPatcher when playing in the browser. If you want to play in browser with a 32x32 texture pack, you're going to have to play without patching your game.
The browser version cannot support 32x32 or higher textures. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.
Okay, here's an issue I've been coming up against for a while now.
When I try patching a new texture pack, it asks for a .jar file and only a .jar file. I select the zip file, and it's a .zip, not . jar. So I patch and game crashes.

that is a problem with whatever texture packs you are using, they are missing a texture in the items.png
Trouble is, the downloadable version hangs after about 10-15 minutes every time. Meh.
First try deleting the following folder on your computer:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\www.minecraft.net
Run minecraft and see if you experience the same problem.
================================
It could also be a problem with Java or something else on your computer (hopefully just Java).
Make sure your Java version is at least 1.6.0_24.
Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Java (32/64-bit)
Click the 'Java' tab at the top of the window and then 'View'
The 'Product' field is your version.
If you do have the latest version of Java:
Try reinstalling Java to solve the 10-15 hang when Minecraft launches.
Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > right-click Java(TM) 6 Update 24 and select 'Uninstall'
Then download and install the latest version of Java here: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

I don't really understand what you're saying.
Each time Minecraft updates, you must run a compatible version of MCPatcher once. After you have ran your MCPatcher, you should be able to choose (in-game) any texture pack you have placed in the texture packs folder of .minecraft, as long as the pack is compatible with the latest version of Minecraft.
