Download MCpatcher making sure it downloads as a jar file, not a zip or inside a zip file.
then...
This new thing doesn't work! It keeps saying there is an error when I try to dowload Modloader, ModloaderMP, SDK Gun's Mod, and Too Many Items! It doesn't help that the pictures for the turorial don't show up or that it's not really explained how to dowload more complicated mods such as SDK Gun's Mod! HELP!
What mods are you installing? Can you copy in the log from MCPatcher?
The key part is to install MCPatcher after installing ModLoader and then install the remaining mods.
At this point some mods may conflict with MCPatcher. I do know that OptiFog conflicts with MCPatcher due to the se.class file.
Here's the Modloader log when it tries to load all the mods from the mod directory's zips. (Only 1 mod seems to load, and that's Millenaire. No signs of TMI or SSP Commands in game)

I was wondering if anyone has been having this same problem or at least something close to it. If so please let me know, I really want this to work.
Help ... :sad.gif: Please It's probably something simple and dumb
I believe the following has something to do with your problem:

What is located at C:\Beanz\MINECRAFT ? Your minecraft files should all be located in C:\Users\Beanz\AppData\Roaming since you have Windows 7.
If you're still having problems, reinstalling Java may help. It doesn't take long and won't cause additional problems.
Hello. I have noticed that when I change to another texture pack of the same resolution, the game sometimes crashes, and when I change to one of a different resolution, the game always crashes. Is this normal?
Hello. I have noticed that when I change to another texture pack of the same resolution, the game sometimes crashes, and when I change to one of a different resolution, the game always crashes. Is this normal?
The easy answer is "Yes, this is normal". Just be more patient when changing between texture packs in-game. The game is accessing files on your harddrive when it changes between packs, so you have to allow your computer time to find the files it needs. Click once on the texture pack you'd like to use and wait for it to change before clicking another. Clicking one and then another before allowing the first to load will surely cause problems.

Restoring original minecraft.jar due to previous error
I downloaded the new mcpatcher and now when I tried to use it I can't even choose Original or Output files, I browsed to the location and selected the .jar file but it doesn't actually select anything. :sad.gif: Tried with a fresh install of Minecraft as well and no joy.
Here's hoping it is something I am overlooking...anyone know what could cause this?
ETA: Ok, so downloaded the patcher for other versions and works fantastically well. Thanks! :smile.gif:
Here's the Modloader log when it tries to load all the mods from the mod directory's zips. (Only 1 mod seems to load, and that's Millenaire. No signs of TMI or SSP Commands in game)
I did a pastebin because I didn't want to muck up the page with pages of lines of stuff.
I took at the log and both TMI and SSP have modified core minecraft files. They will not load from zips and the op post for ModLoader even mentions that.
I still need the MCPatcher log though to be able to identify if there is a conflict with MCPatcher but none of those mods in the ModLoader log is known to conflict. I use TMI and SSP myself with MCPatcher myself. BuildCraft doesn't have any modified minecraft files and seems to load only though ModLoader's api.
I used Millenaire before and I know it doesn't conflict with MCPatcher but you need to make sure it is installed properly. That may be one to go back and double check the instructions as the first time I installed it minecraft crashed pretty bad. It's not very clear where everything goes. There is an image in that pack thought that clears it up and shows where the files should go.
so i tested a bit.. and it seems that youre loader just does not work with minecraft 1.6.6
i installed mcpatcher first, then i added modloader 1.6.6, and everything is okay..! i can now add new textxture packs.. but i can also add them without youre tools in the new minecraft 1.6.6 versions.
so far okay.
then i tryed to add some mods with the modloader/mcpatcher. none of the mods is active ingame after adding them with the mcpatcher. i also got 2 minecraft.jar files (minecraft.jar and minecraft.1.6.6*??*.jar) after patching and i tested both.. none has the mods installed, but the loader says they are installed. after all that the game works fine with both *.jar files.. but no mods included..!
okay so far... then i added the mods manualy, it works fine..! i just got an error from item id and AFTER ADDING THE MODS MANUALLY, the mcpatcher - test - tells me where the problem is (id problem)..! thats funny... cause he did not install the mods but recognises the problems solved by the mods?
hmmm ^^..!
so it seems the patcher does not do what it should do ?!
i just started with mods and patches and textures so.. i don´t realy know what i´m doing.., but i can see that those 2 problems got a massive problem with what they should do :smile.gif:..!
would be rly nice if you can get those problems solved :smile.gif:..!
still thx for youre work and time spent on these helpful tools. i just tell you my experience to help the programmer´s get the problems fixed.
gl and gn8 :wink.gif:.
ps: tested it maybe 30-40 times... every time with new clean downloaded version of minecraft :smile.gif:..!
for some reason the patch that adds the grass to the sides of dirt is adding the grass texture but not any colour so its just grey. any way i can fix this easily? or can you update with a fix if its a bug with the patcher?

Are you using any mods? (When you're having a problem it helps to provide all of the details)
If not:
Try reinstalling Java!
