If i patch it, and then start using the Test Minecraft, i get this:
Starting up SoundSystem...
Initializing LWJGL OpenAL
(The LWJGL binding of OpenAL. For more information, see http://www.lwjgl.org)
OpenAL initialized.

These two are the same problem it turns out. Will be fixed in the next release.
I just can't get HD Textures to work. It's always greyed out for me. When I mouse over I get the following message:
Render Engine: no match found for method readTextureImageData
ColorizerWater: no class matched
ColorizerGlass: no class matched
ColorizerFoliage: no class matched
The problem is I have no mods installed! So what exactly is causing it not to work?
MCPatcher 2.1.0 only works with 1.6 or later. If you're running 1.5_01, use an older version of the patcher (link in OP). Eventually, I would like to make MCPatcher compatible with any version of the game again, but it's a lower priority.
Bravo... three chears.. well done so far.. I'm really loving the ability to add other mods with it now, and how it tells me of conflicting classes when i'm going to patch , it reminds me to check the order so that i can get the right one being over written. so far I havn't run into ANY problems.
Cool, glad you were able to use that feature. I hadn't intended to release it so soon, but 1.6 breaking the old patcher caught me by surprise. Next on my list after these bug fixes is updating the OP with instructions and screenshots for adding other mods. Any volunteers want to make a new tutorial video?
One tip: If you put all your mods in .minecraft/mods/1.6.4 the patcher will look there first when you hit the Add (+) button. In the future this will allow to organize your mods by version number.
Mojang doesn't give a **** what the users want.
Jeb thinks High Resolution Textures look like ****.
That was his stance.
I would love for him to change it, but I highly doubt that is going to happen.
Kahr, when will 2.1.1(?) be released?
Would love to play x64 packs without the tool distortion :S
Phantom, I agree. But I would love for the thread on GetSatisfaction to get to the first page, so it's plainly visible to all. Not that GetSatisfaction gets looked at or updated, but it's something visible at least.

Well I voted it up.
I just don't think it's going to do anything.
Would a few people try a test version of the patcher and let me know your results? There are fixes for the items-with-whiskers bug and the missing custom items from ModLoader. I'm especially interested if you are having the problem below:
I'm not sure if it was the 1.6.5 patch or the test version of the patcher, but I got a significant performance hit now. Will test more to see if non-patched has same issues.

I can't check on the white boxes but I can tell you that the "item-with-whiskers" bug seems to be gone now.
EDIT: Looks like it may be causing issues with the MPMenu extension now.

not sure if this is an issue with the MCPatcher or the texture pack. the same thing happened when minecraft 1.6.4 went in but everything was fine after downloading MCPatcher with 1.6.4 compatibility. however, the newest version of the patcher doesnt seem to have the same results for minecraft 1.6.5

apparently if i change the MCPatcher's java heap size to 3072 i seem to be able to run this texture pack jsut fine. must be a memory issue

I'm not having any problems with any size of LB Photo Realism 5.0.0. What OS are you running and is it 32-bit or 64-bit? Any other mods?

just install modloader before you use the HD patcher and it should work
Thanks for updating and maintaining the patcher Kahr, it's incredibly appreciated.

Thanks! OP updated again.
