Not a single faq about compatability? Lame. When I download the file... a window pops up and asks me to find a program to run the patcher with. Can't do it with Java. I have windows 7. Anyone else?
For the record, I have no problem with ModLoader and BetterGrass as long as I apply ModLoader first. What I usually do is copy a fresh minecraft.jar to minecraft-modloader.jar and add the ModLoader classes to that. When patching, choose minecraft-modloader.jar instead of minecraft-1.5_01.jar as the input file using the Browse button. You don't have to do it this way, but it makes it easier to go back to a non-ModLoader version of the game if you have to.
This very helpful information from Kahr`s post should be part of the first post in this thread, as a lot of people use modloader and BetterGrass.
So far I have faithfully applied the hdpatcher first and then always used Advize`s Bettergrass and his Modloader+Bettergrass Patch, which has never failed.
But now I tried the different approach outlined in Kahr`s quote above
and can confirm it works just as well.
To recap, the two install options to get hdpatcher, modloader and BetterGrass to work are:
1. Use hdpatcher with BetterGrass option unchecked, install modloader, Advize`s BetterGrass, Advize`s Modloader+Bettergrass Patch
OR
2. Install modloader into a fresh minecraft.jar, then select this jar as the target file for hdpatcher while having BetterGrass Option checkmarked
ok so i put mcpatcher and i happend to have some mods installed at the same time.i didnt want the mod anymore so i cleaned my jar to a new one so i had to re patch minecraft and it gives me back the mods.how do i stop this from happening?
After I patch minecraft and look in the bin there is a jar file for minecraft and a minecraft-1.5_01. Which one do i put my mods in? And do i need to to delete one?

You put your mods into the minecraft.jar.
There is no need to delete the other jar.
On the contrary, the minecraft-1.5_01.jar is your backup unmodded and unpatched jar.

Thank you very much! Im going to try adding my mods back in now. Diamonds for you
So I'm not sure what's wrong, but this HDPatcher causes me to crash, I have taken to the following steps to narrow it down to a problem with the patcher and potentially some sort of mod it has conflicts with.
1. Deleted my Bin folder
2. Ran Minecraft to redownload the Bin
3. Put a texture pack in texturepacks folder
4. Ran the HDPatcher
*At this point the game works fine and I can run the game without any mods & have HD textures.*
5. I install all my mods then run the game and get a black screen and crash after the mojang symbol pops up.
*It should also be noted that I can play all of these mods together fine without the HD Patch.*
I noticed that someone mentioned a problem with Nandonalt's mods so I'll try removing that and see if I can confirm that his mods conflict with the HD Patcher.
EDIT: After further inspection, I have uninstalled all of my Nandonalt's mods and the HD Patcher works fine with the game and all my mods, so I can confirm that this Nandonalt's mods do not play nicely with the HD Patcher.
Something needs to be changed on either Kahr's end or Nandonalt's end. Otherwise, I and many other will not be able to play Minecraft due to the fact that playing the game without the MoreTree's mod will cause instant crashes when going into areas with Trees from Nandonalt's More Tree's mod.
I installed all my mods, all 40 of them, then ran this patcher. I know it worked before because I've done it before, but now whenever I patch, it removes all my mods. all of them. I tried telling the patcher to use minecraft.jar rather then minecraft-1._05.jar as the original, but it just goes back to minecraft-1._05.jar. Help me please.
I'm using the DOKU DSRemix pack, still can't get it working.
You'll have to link it. I searched three different versions of that and it's not where I can see it. My guess is still that it's not updated
Sorry for the SUPER late reply, I didn't see that you had replied to me here. I misspelled it, its actually the Doku DSB Remix by danscottbrown: viewtopic.php?t=191634
It's a very popular pack with a totally up-to-date version and it even directs you to this patcher - so it must be supported. Any other ideas? It still crashes and gives me the same error log, every other pack works fine (including custom lava and water) and I'm using no other mods at all.

Hey, so, I have already asked this before, but Im going to ask again incase someone knows the answer. I am on a Mac, I download the 2.0.1 MCPatcher. I would like to use Jolicraft. However, whenever I go to the mods&texture packs page the pictures are greyed out and they use the default image. When I click on them it does nothing.
So far "Dokucraft" is the only pack out of , Joli, Tydoku, Glimmar's, Bordercraft, VoxelBox, and a couple others, that has worked. I have also checked inside the .Zip of the texture packs and everything is in order. Please help!
are there any Other up to date patchers besides this one i can try?...
im done trying to get this to work when it simply wont on my computer. =/
Btw, I think Better Grass/Snow should be disabled by default.
[Run MC via command prompt, or Test Minecraft button on the patcher.]
