my patcher looks like this: (snipped all the annoying stuff)
Quote from HeadHunter67 »
It's hard to tell because the file paths don't display fully, so I'll ask:
Are you trying to install the patch after other mods? It looks the way it would behave if trying to patch a modded version of the game.
Back up your saves (and texture packs), delete your /bin and /texturepacks folders, run the game and let it update. Then run the patcher again. See if that helps.
And please stop abusing smilies - it clutters up the page and makes it harder to identify real issues. You wouldn't like it if your post was overlooked because someone else did that, would you? :wink.gif:
^This....it's hard to want to answer after the "wtf" icon garble....

Is it just me or is the better grass thing not compatible with modloader?
I dunno...did ya patch before or after you installed Modloader?

I have no clue what the problem was. Whatever it was, I fixed it (re-download).

For us incompetent folk who still want to make our own completely custom texture packs without copying anyone else's, can you include in the OP a comprehensive list and/or images for all the files that MCPatcher can add? Like a list of custom fire, custom lava, and any modifications to existing files, etc, for people that just want to double check the OP to see if they included everything in their own texture pack.

I'm almost 100% positive that this have been suggested before but i'll suggest it again anyways

It is worth noting that any file you omit will simply use the default texture - for example, boats, or mobs. This does not apply, of course, to an item or terrain block, as these items share an image sheet with others of their kind.

they are in a top down sprite strip format and should be the width of the texture size for the pack and the length should be a in a X2 multiple of the width.(with the exception of flowing..check vid for explanation)
my vid on this topic covers the steps to get the proper size difference for the different animations. viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=185685

Ah, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. I suspected that there was one for the portals, but it's hard to find it among the pages and numerous update listings. Hence my suggesting a list be added for people to glance over.

guess what IT DID NOT FRICKING WORK
what didn't work? the patcher? (insert)REALLY GOOD(/insert) chances are there is a stupidly simple reason for it.
Fixed that for ya Grugsy
:biggrin.gif:
@dafrandle - If all you got is a lame one liner and can't give info on why you think it didn't work or what you tried to get it to work...can't say we feel the need to try and help. But it works for 99.5% of the people who use it.

Same thing here :
It wouldn't be a bad idea to include the ModLoader + BetterGrass compatibility patch inside the MCPatcher.

Retired StaffThat would be cool though. Just make the textures and add them to a blank template. What you don't add the game adds for you

Ditto
How exactly do the custom textures work? . -.
I fill up the image with perfectly aligned 16x16 squares but when the animation plays in-game, the squares move over and don't play straight.
I appreciate the effort, but if I were looking for non-MCPatcher files, I would not have posted in this thread.

Curse Premiumapologies...I thought there was info for the custom stuff... wrong thread, sorry. anyway.. the patcher adds support for:
custom_water_still.png & custom_water_flowing.png
custom_lava_still.png & custom_lava_flowing.png
custom_portal.png
custom_fire_n_s.png & custom_fire_e_w.png
