I am having this problem using the latest version of MCPatcher and Minecraft 1.5_01 when trying to patch my jar:

Each time when I choose (Click) my HD texture pack it just freezes and crash's with no error report :I

Well I'm attempting LB photo realism pack, I patched it, then when I when I click "Test Minecraft" I select the Texture pack and it just freezes. But I don't really understand your question :I

No you got it...I'll go check it out. (the one by Scuttles I presume?)
Edit - Works fine for me using Windows XP. Thing I don't get, is where you and some others say they used the "test Minecraft" with the patcher and selected a pack. I don't get an option button to select anything (there isn't one). It just loads Minecraft.
So what are you selecting...or where?

So yea im getting same sort of errors. Ive always been annoyed at how hit and miss isntalling mods and (HD) texture packs are for minecraft, but im really keen on this LB Photorealism one (admits to being yogcast fan).
Load patcher,
'Patch'
run game,
put in texture pack (both as rar file and unzipped to a normal folder, just to cover all bases)
run game again and.. black screen/crash.
Horray for fail
Edit: Lol got it working. Turns out it doesnt like 256x versions, only 64. Meh
i did all the things you need to do but i don't see the textures in the mods and texture packs in-game i only have default
i started the patcher up clicked patch went to mods and texture packs area then open texture pack folder, nothing happened so i went to it in the .minecraft folder i put the teture packs in i opened minecraft and i coudn't see them
Never mind guys it got fixed! It was just my human error, you see each time when I started MCPatcher There was a bar at the bottom and I thought that I got patched so I chose the HD texture pack in the Test mode but IT WAS NOT PATCHED! Ha ha ha! And it remembered my HD texture selection so it crashed each time I started up Minecraft XD, Anyway I'm giving an internets to Gestankfaust for taking notice of my question,
I've been having a similar problem to some of you; the patcher works fine, but when I click on a texpack icon in the texture pack selection screen, boom it crashes.
any help would be appreciated. :tongue.gif:
edit: unpatching seems to work, but then i get stuck on the mojang screen forever
double edit: this error is what i get each time, and I'm pretty sure i'm using the default textures at the time of patching.

Hi, i think the newest patch is conflicting with Optimine. Before using Optimine, the latest MCPatcher 2.0 is working fine like a charm, but after I installed Optimine, it start crashing everytime I tried to use different texture pack.
Strange thing is, if I just restart minecraft, the game will load normally again and the texture pack display correctly.
Edit: not sure if someone already said this, but these are the mods that i am using right now and confirmed works fine with the latest MCPatcher:
- Modloader
- TMI
- SPC
- Piston
- MoreFlower
- CJB Modpack (only using moreinfo, minimap, and teleport)
With Optimine, MC always crash if I select different texture. With a little restarting and it will works fine again, a bit annoying to be honest...

ok guys... MCpatcher is completely Modloader compatible.. always patch before installing ANY mods, and always on a fresh minecraft.(delete bin folder and redownload using launcher)
here are the mods I have tested and confirmed work fine

too many items
fossils
piston

cjb's mods
zan's minimap
nature overhaul
cferrill1's mods
single player commands
GLSL
you get the picture... I have tested a few others as well and found no issues related to the patcher and mods being incompatible.
Does anyone else have horrible lag when using the MCpatcher version 2.0? I had to rollback to 2.0 Beta 4, because the new version causes my FPS, when using a 32x32 pack, to drop to about 2fps. Meanwhile, on Beta4, I have around 30FPS.
Anyway, (This cake is great--sorry) I love the patcher. I don't even think my texture pack has the fire updated yet, so it doesn't really matter yet.
I don't get an option button to select anything (there isn't one). It just loads Minecraft.
So what are you selecting...or where?

They are selecting it in the "Mods and Texture Packs" menu in the game... like you normally do. :3
yeah...guess I was more making sure they weren't messing with the original and output buttons. The people I aimed that question to don't tend to get too specific on where they are selecting things...if you know what I mean

I've replaced my whole minecraft folder on my mac and ran the patcher but my Painterly texture pack is still greyed out and wont load at all

Might not be packaged right. Haas to be a zip file, has to only contain the terrain.png and other various files in the main directory of the zip.
I'm having the same problem but I know that I have the .zip file in there and even tried it with two packs tyken's gerudoku mix and danscottbrowns gerudoku mix but both are gray in the game I have no mods installed at all. Any help would be awesome.

It's actually not a dumb thing to think it was patched because you see a status bar advancing at the bottom of the patcher when you double click it and it's loading.
Just make sure you click the "patch" button.
Again...not calling anyone dumb. I figured it out fast, but remember thinking the same thing when I first used the new patcher.
But other than the way the pack(s) are packaged, or what I posted above (or any other human type error), I can't think of why it wouldn't work.

REstoring it to normal works.
But I am trying to use the Dekucraft minecraft texture pack(high one) and it says to use this patcher...I do, but if I try to run it all I get is a black screen.
