Can you make multiple mob textures for mods for example mo' creatures mod i'm trying to make more textures for the wyvern, but i dont know how to,
please reply Im working on a texture pack
Ive asked about this before, and apparently you cant do it with MCpatcher, but someone told me that you can do it with blockstates in 1.8. I havent tried it yet tho

Blockstates only apply to blocks, so no.
I did think the randomobs would would work for mod added entities. Never tried it though.
soo... i'm running modded forge for 1.7.10 and wish to play it with variation in textures for mobs, every resource pack i'm seeing is saying it requires mcpatcher... so... how does one go about installing mcpatcher with a forge client?
seems i can only get one or the other to work but not but together.

I have the same problem. MCPatcher still doesn't support the latest recommended Forge versions. Try downgrading to Forge 1291, and then MCPatch it, but this may bring another problem: some 1.7.10 mods require Forge 1448.
oh cool, so long as it might be one day... i think i'm using a fair few mods that are dependant on the forge i'm using: 10.13.4.1492, i saw a post from a couple of years ago i think, someone mentioned that it was possible with that version though they didn't say how they went about getting it all to fit together.

Did you follow the instructions hidden in the spoiler tags on the first page? If not, here's a re-cap of them since the formatting is mucked up and the phrasing is a bit confusing.
1) Install Forge with their installer
2) Start MCPatcher
3) There's a drop-down to select the profile you wish to patch. Select your Forge profile.
4) Profit????
If you did do that, then I have no solutions as I'm only re-stating the installation directions. I don't deal with "compatibility" issues since I never muck around too much.
Is there anywhere I can go to find detailed information on ctm? The wiki has the general basics, but a lot of the features I use to know about are missing. There's actually a lot of information on the wiki that's surprisingly vague and maybe even outdated.

Try this one, but it is not updated in case of using metadatas, the basic rules are ok
Struggling to get Random Mob Textures to work... I've tried everything with no luck, I have Zombie and Zombie2 in <texturepack>/assets/textures/entity/zombie. I've patched with MCPatcher and haven't received a mob folder nor an mcpatcher one, Random Mobs is checked when I click patch.. I tried to make the mob folder myself and put the textures in there but that didn't work either.
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
You must create a new folder in your txt pack: mcpatcher/mob/....and put in there your random mobs!

i did all that several times, i've only ever had the option to patch the regular 1.7.10, not the forge version, they're both in the same directory, i must be getting confused somewhere... the 1.7.10 folder has a .jar in it but the forge folder doesn't, maybe is should rezip the forge folder into a .jar too? will try and report, though i have been trying to instal java properly for the last day so this might not be the only problem now...
thanks for posting
... tried that now, it did at least give me the option to choose from the created .jar although it obviously just crashed out upon attempting to patch it... started from scratch again again to be sure again, it seems to only want to recognise .zip files, no .jar available... also do i need to use modloader too? a lot of the mods i'm running rely on being placed in a separate folder to the mods folder offered by mcpatcher so i doubt this is going to work anyway if mcpatcher needs to "recompile" them.............................................. maybe i'll try reading through nearly 600 pages but for now i think i need to leave it for another year.
Thanks for the reply Do I do this before or after I patch with MCPatcher?
Edit: I created <texturepack>/assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/mob and put my mob textures in there but it's still not working. I'm using Minecraft 1.8 by the way.
I don't understand why it's not working.
You must not put this file in your minecraft folder but in another texturepack you are using and after this you patch.

Rule of thumb: If the Forge version has the new loading screen, it's not compatible with MCPatcher.
Putting the CENDENT back in transcendent!
