The primary download link (that most people will click) in the main post links to a page with a big giant download link to a Malware infected installer.
The only safe link is the Alternate Download link. The people behind Mcpatcher are purposely conning people with Malware infected software.
Just utterly despicable.
I (rather foolishly) downloaded from this site a couple of months ago. It wrecked my hard drive and I have just gone 3 weeks without my computer (unable to do any work) while I got the HD replaced as they didn't seem to be able to fix it.

I never use the main link, always the alternate because of this.

Luckily the Khar seems to have become aware of this. The main links are removed so you can only click the alternate ones.
Just a quick CTM question, I have made an animation for the default 2x3 size Nether Portal. Default-style animation strip, no problem. My problem though is, how I would have to Custom Animation the file, and also make it the CTM thingy so that it shows up with the portal....I need some help ;-;

So, I haven't worked with mcpatcher for a while and wanted to use it again.
I downloaded the newest version (5.0.3 at the moment) and wanted to patch my 1.8 version.
Well, the version was, but I couldn't see any ingame difference (custom block textures, cit etc.)
So I opened mcpatcher again and noticed this:
There are no options for ctm and cit. . .
However It seems to work fine with 1.7.9 or lower:
I'm sorry if this was already asked (often), but I can't find a solution . . .

That's because CTM and CIT have been merged and renamed.
For Minecraft 1.8, Connected Textures and Custom Item Textures have been merged into Custom Textures and Models, this change happened when version 5 was release, the image at the beginning of the thread is a little out of date.
If you have your own custom pack, then you will have to update all your properties files as the syntax change somewhat.
Apparently, MCPatcher can't work anymore with newest versions of Forge (tested with 1400) for 1.7.10. It seems that like Liteloader, he can't see the Forge version. I checked the Forge folder in .minecraft and indeed, there isn't any .jar file so it is impossible to patch.
Confirmed. I updated to the lastest recommended Forge version 1401, MCPatcher can't detect Forge 1388 or above.
Downgrade to Forge 1387, it's working with MCPatcher.
EDIT: Never mind, MCPatcher is complaining that it cannot apply Forge, at least 1352 and above. The problem is, some major mods require this Forge version to work. Even any version above 1291 can't be applied.

Thx for the answer ^^
Can you give an easy example of how I have to update the properties files? (for example sword with special texture when renamed or something like that)

Hellew! I think I mis-used McPatcher in a completely weird way 'cause I KNOW that I did something wrong, after I patched 1.8 and 1.8.4 versions (With the texture pack applied when I used the applications menu in the patcher interface) and now I have 2 entirely different version in minecraft.
"1.8Mcpatcher" (Or whatever it should say lel) and "1.8.4Mcpatcher" Both have the Texture I downloaded as main, when I actually just needed it for putting it INTO THE FREAKING "Resource Packs" SECTION ON THE LAUNCHER.
Sorry for being a slight noob, I don't have much experience with patchers. I used it once and it turned out fine, and I messed up on this one.
Could someone tell me what I did wrong and how I can correct this mistake to the original purpose?? Thank you! :L
The ability to set the color of the fishing line. I realize that you can set a custom texture for the fishing line but it doesn't look as good in practice.
I created a mock-up of the implementation that I would like to see.

So it's been a long time since I've played Minecraft, but was coming back here to see if there was an alternative to CTM now. As I understand, there is now an alternative that is just called Custom Textures/Models? Will this still work with old, somewhat outdated texture packs where it's still only for CTM?
I'm having trouble using MCPatcher with Forge and LiteLoader.
I'm following the instructions under "Installing Forge, FML, and/or LiteLoader with MCPatcher[/b]", and when I get to this point: "From the Game Version drop-down menu, choose the Forge/LiteLoader version that was just created", I don't see the version that was just created.
I looked in my .minecraft/versions folder, and in .minecraft/versions/1.7.10-LiteLoader1.7.10-1.7.10-Forge10.13.3.1401-1710ls, there is no .jar file (there is a .jar file in all of the other folders within .minecraft/versions).
Don't know whats wrong, maybe someone else can figure it out.

So, I made some cit textures recently for a 1.8 and noticed, that the textures look weird ingame. It seems like that every pixel that doesn't overlap with the base texture doesnt have any depth, but is just a floating pixel.
Do I have to make a custom 3D texture now for every cit or is there an easier way to avoid this?
You only need the first file. Add "symmetry=all" to it.
Putting the CENDENT back in transcendent!

Alright, so I got my portal animation working, but I can't figure out the CTM to do it....
I know that I've done something wrong with the method, I've been trying to figure it out but it won't work...
I've tried using all the different methods, and none of them seem to work, especially not random.
Any and all help is appreciated
